Great video. I had a similar vintage 1984 W460 SWB 230GE Auto in London. That was slow as a snail and a rust bucket. that was in 2015. Now in 2024 we have a 1984 LWB 300GD - that is now having an engine swap to OM603 and auto gearbox. We have same need for a daily driver. Thank you for sharing!

Very informative. In my 996 C4S the right rear speaker is not working. The speaker works, so it must be power to this speaker which I will continue to check.

Nice video! With my C4S hardtop that i also had to 'salvage' big time i still have an issue with debris and stuff being stuck right between the window and the 'panel' (?) on the inside, and i cant quite figure out how to get down there - the hoover doesn't reach far enough. any tips on that? also i have the issue that the pegs that screw into the car are super rusty and the rear window heater doesnt work - need to use some rust removal and see if that also makes the peg conduct electricity (if that is the issue...). At least i have checked that the fuse is ok, so that's not it. And finally, i have an issue that when i put the hardtop on it's very fidgety to get the rear windows up in between the gaps. Need another person to kind of pry the gaps open while i gently raise the rear windows. do you have this issue?

The problem with the technology they had at the time was that it didn't have any usable luggage space. Fortunately the 911-like sedan is in production now, thanks to electric propulsion and no need for a large engine compartment. It's not called 989, but Taycan.
