As a longtime Hey Monday fan I am embarassed to say I had no clue this ever happened. Michelle's was way better but it is a fragile song easy to mess up on. Need Jojo and Shakira level vocal controls and a tight band. if you get the notes' energy level good (or better) ya get the timing off. if ya get the timing off ya get the breathing wrong. if energy level is low timing is off. with perfect muscle memory over weeks of laborious practice someone could master it, but then you gotta have a tight band to help with the tempo. Instrumentals on this cover were no offense to the guys playing, but not the best. Cassadee had guts to even try and sing it, let alone re-tuned. Drum was good 2/3rds. Guitar was good at 30 seconds and the end, but they 100% toned the instrumentals down and I strongly feel it impacted her performance. Her tempo was very good but timing and energy level were all over. She could do this song well. Just circumstances there impacted it. They couldn't have picked a song more in tune for her and still she was off key and pitchy, he was the best this season, no doubt.

This is really good but I think Taylor and Cassadee could do this song together with the original version/new maybe. Taylor and Cassadee both loved Michelle Branch and still. Cassadee's voice can be tiring sometimes but with Taylor featured. The song would be awesome.
