Good luck on your student loan pay off. I recently wrote down all of my debt to see where I was at and oh boy was I surprised. I am not getting myself back on track and getting it paid down. I will have my car paid off next month so that frees up money I can use towards credit cards. Let’s work hard on these financial goals!

Thank you for sharing your story. Yes, student loans are predatory, its sad bc most folks didnt know what students loans were or how they worked bc no one in their family ever needed them for one reason or another, so in my case, i got them bc i thought thats what i was supposed to do. im going to do everything i can to make sure my boys never get any. It sucks u cant target the smaller loan first but im glad youre able to start tackling them overall!

Student loans are the worst, I’m 56k in almost finished my CC debt went from $32k down to 2k… great progress and plan for your student loan…

My interest rate for my student loans is at 7.05%. But my mortgage interest rate is 6.25%. So yes, I agree with you, student loan debt is very predatory.

I’ve seen people talk about “mortgage 13” where you make one extra mortgage payment a year. There’s calculators online which show how much time and money doing that saves. Sounds like what you plan to do 😊
