Windy day landings are interesting to watch, every pilot and airplane has their own technique. I really admire taildragger pilots, they’re especially skilled and this Murphy Elite pilot does a masterful job of getting her airplane down and straight. Very impressive!! This Cessna 182 is a versatile flyer, no matter what the weather throws at it you can be sure to see this aircraft flying. Evenings like this in the Pacific Northwest are amazing to fly in, the setting sun and alpenglow are heart stoppingly beautiful! I enjoyed this takeoff and hope you did, too. Airpark Living - Robinson R22 Beta “Little Bird” Helicopter
zhlédnutí 3KPřed 11 dny
Lynden Airpark certainly sees its fair share of cool and interesting aircraft. This beautiful Robinson R22 is an amazing little helicopter, local owner and flown this is a training helicopter and the pilot/owner is building a homebuilt turbine-powered helicopter at his house!! What a great decent to hover, and lucky you and me it was right in front of where I was standing! #aviation
Airpark Living - Cessna 172M Amazing Prop Tip Vortices
zhlédnutí 726Před 13 dny
Ginger loves early morning flights when the air is calm and there’s no one else flying. We have guests in our airport home and there’s simply no better way to show them the beauty of our town and the area than from a sunrise flight. #gratitude
Airpark Living - Cessna 172M Skyhawk aka Ginger The Plane
zhlédnutí 4,4KPřed 18 dny
Ginger flies so smoothly it sometimes feels like she’s flying herself and I’m just along for the ride. Cessna 172 Skyhawks are not the fastest, quickest climbing, farthest flying airplanes but they do everything very good which is all you can ask from a private airplane. I’m incredibly appreciative to have this amazing and honest airplane, #gratitude
Airpark Living - Beech A36 Bonanza “Jet Prop”
zhlédnutí 1,9KPřed 22 dny
Rare doesn’t come close to describing this Beech A36 Bonanza equipped with an Allison Turbine. A “JetProp” from Tradewind Turbines is aviation royalty and this is the first of its kind to visit Lynden Airpark. The owner has had this beauty for the past 20 years and they fly it regularly. It’s amazing what we see here at 38W!!
Airpark Living - Cessna 170B Polished To Perfection!
zhlédnutí 5KPřed 25 dny
The Cessna 170 is a classic design that really benefits from a polished aluminum finish. This particular 170 is based here at Lynden Airpark and we get to admire its gleaming skin, growling engine and howling propeller. Personally, this is one of my absolute favorites here on the field, #vintage
Airpark Living - Beech Twin Bonanza aka “T Bone” Takes Off Like A Boss
zhlédnutí 11KPřed měsícem
The Twin Bonanza is an awesome airplane, this example is particularly nice! It’s easily one of the best sounding aircraft to visit the airpark, it’s two geared Lycoming GO480s make an amazing sound under power. These Twin Bo’s are becoming rare, if you see one definitely check it out, they’re very special indeed!
Airpark Living - Vans RV12 Early Morning Takeoff
zhlédnutí 1,3KPřed měsícem
Early morning flights to and from the airpark are my favorites. The calm air and brilliant sunshine gleaming on the wings and surfaces of the many beautiful and interesting aircraft we see here make for an incredible sight. This Vans RV12 epitomizes these moments in a way that is hard to describe, much easier to show.
Airpark Living - Cessna 170A Headed All The Way Up To Alaska
zhlédnutí 4,1KPřed měsícem
A “gateway to Alaska” is what Lynden Airport (38W) has become. This beautiful, very original Cessna 170A with its Tennessee pilot is on its way to Alaska for the summer. There was a squirrelly breeze at the runway this evening making for a “spicy” landing rollout. Got to love those Taildragger pilots and their skills!!
Airpark Living - Piper Comanche PA-24-260
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed měsícem
The Piper Comanche 260 is a real performer! This is an outstanding example and she stopped in for some 100LL today. The bright red and white colors make this a real head turner on the ramp and in the air. It’s always cool seeing such rare and meticulously cared for aircraft flying from our little airpark community.
Airpark Living - Cessna 170 Bush Plane
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed měsícem
The Cessna 170 epitomizes bush plane flying in the Pacific Northwest USA. Whether in Alaska, Idaho or Washington State there’s simply no better example flying backcountry than a Cessna 170 IMO. This 170 shines brightly from a complete metal polishing on every aluminum surface. When the sun sets, grass landings and calm air combine to make it a special landing, and this one was buttery smooth!! 👍👍
Airpark Living - Alaskan Cessna 207A “Stationair 7” is a Rare Bird
zhlédnutí 8KPřed měsícem
The Cessna 207A “Stationair 7” is a rare airplane. It’s a derivative of the 206 and this example stopped in for a refuel before flying direct to Ketchikan, Alaska. That’s a 5-hour, 650 mile flight - impressive! We’re becoming known here at Lynden Airport as a best, last fuel stop for aircraft heading to Alaska. This means we will see lots of very cool aircraft in transit and many of them will b...
A Lifetime Of Flying Begins With The First Flight!

A love for aviation can be learned but for most pilots it's baked into their DNA and always there. A lifetime of flying, on the other hand, begins with the first flight. Today was William's first flight, his dad is a pilot, aviation enthusiast & fellow CZcams creator ( check out @JohnVHRC ). To say William has a natural ability in the cockpit is an understatement, this young man has the beginni...
Airpark Living - Diamond Star DA40 Smooth and Powerful Performance!

It should be a crime how expensive these are now.
I agree, Textron is rediculous! That said, aircraft have always been expensive, my hope is the upcoming FAA Mosaic changes will make things more “affordable” and bring more lower cost airframes into the market.
How is it to live in an airpark in the us ? Was thinking to move from europe to america. Too disgusting here from the political situation.
I’m very biased, of course! Living on an airpark is a dream come true for a pilot or aviation fan, the easy access to flying and great community of like-minded people is simply incredible! The politics here aren’t too great either but I focus on aviation, that my “happy place”. 👍✈️🍀
Yay, Ginger!
She’s been flying great! That morning was bright and the temp was cool, the vortices from the propeller were incredible to see! 👍👍
First flight with his dad and Tom will be remembered for the rest of William's life. Great job sharing your love of flying!
Thank you! These are the flights I love the most, we’re already talking about doing this again 👍✈️🍀
Fun stop
Thanks, welcome to Ginger’s channel. 👍
If I was doing helicopter training I'd definitely nerd out and own a helmet.
Me too, the instructor pilot’s helmet looks to be straight out of a Vietnam-era Huey UH-1D. 👍
Skyhawk prop vortices!
Good eyes!! I was wondering if anyone else was going to see them, first time Ginger has ever had them on takeoff. 😉✈️
Beautiful bird!
Thanks John, we need to get you & William back up while this great weather lasts.
@@GingerThePlane that would be great! I was thinking about ya these nice evenings watching planes flying. Kaye just flew over in his cub special. Haha.
I’ve got company this week, will let you know if there’s a chance to get up. 👍✈️🍀
@@GingerThePlane Fun! Ill be ready!

Where is this airpark located?
Lynden Municipal Airport / Jansen Field 38W is located in northwest Washington State near the Canadian border (south of Vancouver B.C.).
Sweet Departure 👍
Yes, thanks 👍👍
Nice Takeoff 👍
I was glad to catch his visit to Lynden Airpark, he landed and taxied back for takeoff and was gone. Sure would like to see it again! 👍
Sweet😅
Thanks, much appreciated!!
I'm a student that's got like 30 landings logged (only 6 where the instructor has said "i didnt help you that time") ... I see your elevators aren't up, where I've been being told to continue to pull back after touchdown to take weight off the nosewheel... I'm not sure if there's a question buried in that rumination except maybe, what's your advice? ❤
Thanks for your reply and welcome to Ginger’s channel. Well spotted, my practice is to also keep the elevators up after landing but more for the aerodynamic braking effect than taking the weight off the nose. In this case I wanted to roll to the end of the runway where the fuel farm is located without reapplying power (worked out perfectly). So, I agree with your instructor, but there are some situations where you may do it differently. Thanks again and best of luck with your training, whatever you do just be sure to finish and get that certificate!! 👍✈️🍀
Nice 👍
Appreciate it, thanks 😊
Sexy! 🤌🏾
Awesome landing 👍😎🇺🇲
Thank you, you’re very kind! It wasn’t that good actually but I’m happy enough with it to share it here. I’m still learning the landmarks, altitude & speeds required to nail my landings here. 👍
@@GingerThePlane You're welcome! You are doing fine.
You have got to really love aircraft to live in one of these houses I lived across from a private airstrip like that and out of all those houses only a few had aircraft. Nobody was louder than the guy with the huey who flew 3 times a week. He would fly low all over the place. It's really cool the first week or so then its not fun 😂
Wow, sorry you had a bad experience. Here it’s much different, most hangar homes have light aircraft inside and the pilot owners are all good people who are considerate of their neighbors (on the airport and surrounding areas). We try hard to encourage noise abatement procedures and there are no helicopters based here, the only helos we see are Homeland Security or US Coast Guard and they’re just passing through to say hello. Our annual Airport Open House is hugely successful and we see most neighbors and they bring their kids/grandkids. The airport also drives a fair amount of economic activity in the City with fuel sales and pilots eating at the many local restaurants. All in all we’re very lucky to have a great community. 👍
@@GingerThePlane yeah well helicopters are super loud and he flew a uh-1 Iroquois which might have actually been a uh-1n which had TWO turbine pratt&whitneys. So if you didnt hear the distinctive chop of the blades it sounded like a 737 flying low all over the place. Certainly not a light aircraft. I moved it was an easy solution.
WTH?
IYKYK
wow, thats cool!
He was on his way to Ketchikan, Yakutat and Anchorage from Scottsdale, AZ. That’s a big trip but not challenge in a Turbine Bo. 👍
That would get you to OSHKOSH
@@reckemroysrc3764 Yeah it would!!
@@reckemroysrc3764 definitely, certainly has the range and ability. It might even get a trophy but my sense is this JetProp is a regular flyer not a showpiece. 👍
That's something you don't see everyday.
Exactly right! It’s a rare bird for sure, and I think the pilot was easing it off (hence the slow roll and climb out). It sure sounds good, too! 👍
I bought a block in an Aviation Estate in Australia that's currently being built. Stuff like this makes me look forward to it even more
Thats one unique plane right there
I almost missed it, they were transitioning up to Alaska and stopped briefly to see friends. My neighbor (a Bonanza Society expert) called to let me know they were about to blast off. I’m so glad I caught their takeoff. 👍✈️❤️
First
Yes you are! Thank you for watching and welcome to Ginger’s channel 👍✈️🍀
Great plane and beautiful landing
Indeed it is! 👍✈️🍀
Is this the Light sport RV-12? I'm helping my parents build one and just wanted to ask. Since they basically are alike is very similar ways.
It’s an RV12iS, they’re such cool airplanes!
@@GingerThePlane Very Much agreed! I hope I am able to successfully get my PPL in it and solo on my 16th Birthday.
@@theonlyIsaactennis good luck, that would be an amazing achievement!!
@@GingerThePlane Thanks! Almost 80% completed. Just need an engine, avionics, the extra screws to put it all together and the finish kit. I can’t wait to be up and flying in it!

Butter refers to landing. Never heard of doing a smooth takeoff before but I like it
Agree, mainly a landing term but this particular takeoff was so impressively smooth it earned a butter mention! 😉👍
@@GingerThePlane Well I’ll definitely take the butter either way.
Thanks! ✈️🧈🧈
Beautiful finish! Though I would think the walk-around would be miserable on a day like today. 🥵
Hadn’t thought of that, good point! Definitely a sunglasses mandatory kinda airplane!! 😎👍
Definitely! I've also walked around them at airshows and could feel the heat radiating off the body. 🔥
@@aviatorlife1806 I wonder if that keeps the interior cooler…? Love the look nonetheless.
Fancy living so close to something as noisy as that. Love planes but also like peace and quiet.
One person’s noise is another’s music, I guess. Pilots live here and we enjoy seeing & hearing the various aircraft coming through, this isn’t the loudest either. Props only fortunately, not enough runway for jets. 👍✈️🍀
As a trucker and a pilot I know what you mean. My Jake brakes help me but annoy other people. My airplane as much as I love it, has potential to annoy some people to.
Do you know what engine that 650 has it in it?
I don’t, sorry. Whatever is in it has the right amount of power to weight ratio that’s for sure!
Hey do you know who managed to get your airpark on liveatc?
Me and a neighbor/pilot pulled it together. They make it very easy, you don’t need much in the way of hardware and it runs smoothly 24/7. Are you nearby? I’d be happy to talk you through it in depth.
@@GingerThePlane I’m in CYXX but I’d be down to drive down one day
Great! We would love it if Abbotsford was on LiveATC.net as well. Too often we launch and recover here without knowing what’s coming our way, it would make it much safer to hear your coms. Please send me an email and I’ll share my contact info: tom@gingertheplane. Thanks.
Thanks for posting the video of my takeoff! I enjoyed that flight into your airpark.
You’re most welcome, your RV was a beautiful sight on a sunny morning! I’d be happy to send the original video to you, drop me a note at: tom@gingertheplane.com and I will email it to you. 👍👍
Very much intense but romantic at the sometime. Thank you sharing a beautiful moment.
Thank you Satoshi-san, I very much appreciate your kind words. 👍✈️🍀

Many thanks 👍
You would think they would have a level or at least flat runway
The runway is level and smooth, it’s the slight crosswind at mid-field that gets everyone.
...thats not a bush plane by any means
Maybe it’s not as “equipped” as we expect today but the Cessna 170 is a capable bush plane. Alaska operators may add larger tires and a beefier landing gear, STOL cuffs, micro VGs and a 180 hp engine but an original unmodified 170 will still perform in most situations.
Lots of C170s flying up here in the Alaskan backcountry would argue with you! It’s no Super Cub, but it will get in and out of some pretty remote stuff.
@@awookielearnstofly2925 exactly right! I’ve seen lots of airframe types at Hood Lake that someone wouldn’t think could operate in the bush and yet they do it everyday. An Aeronca Sedan or Luscombe 11 for example, both are pretty cool airplanes!
watching this today, just flew up to FHR yesterday.
FHR is one of my favorites, that night there wasn’t anyone flying and the air was calm. I have another video where I park in transient, walk into town and show a few of my favorite spots. Hope you had a good time there, too!! Thanks for checking out Ginger’s channel 👍
@@GingerThePlane of course! I watch all your vids. FHR is great, I like camping at ORS too.

wow, wondering what's the price of flying from Point Roberts to Bellingham?
Not sure, you could ask San Juan Airlines what they would charge for a pick up/flight to BLI. 👍
