These are great, I’m Heather Stewart from the “Growing up in Reddish” group. I think I must’ve bought my first (pink) mountain bike from your mum in Reddish, from Leigh’s would’ve been around the mid to late 90s, your mum would’ve been in her mid 50s.. I was served I think by your mum, when I bought the bike. Paid in cash, lol. I used to be a big fan of Davy’s when I was very little, in the early 80s.. To think I could’ve got Davy’s autograph if I’d hung around Leigh’s bike shop at the time. I do wonder if my Dad might’ve known or met him. My Dad knew Eric Haydock from The Hollies, Derek Quinn from Freddie and the Dreamers, and Karl Denver (he introduced me to Karl and Eric as a kid). My Dad nearly joined The Hollies in the 60s, supposedly, he knew the 50s starlet Sabrina too. He was ten years older than Davy, so maybe never met him! But you never know. Love the talk of Debdale Park and his escape over the gardens. Used to go Debdale all the time as a kid.

I lived a mile from David in Gorton, Manchester. I've been very interested in his career in recent months, not least because he was a local lad. The more I learn about him, the more I realise he gave say 140% in whatever he did, and we of course all benefited from that. That may have taken a strain. Gone too soon. I've heard him talk in numerous interviews, and very often I've heard his Openshaw/Gorton accent creep in. God bless.

Davy loved his family and made plenty of time to visit them That makes him that much greater. I can’t even how much they loved him because he loved them right back. He never forgot his family.

We in the USA never learned anything about the funeral arrangements in the UK and what were his final arrangements. He looked so well and when he died it was such a shock. My brother actually called me and asked if i was sitting down-to deliver the bad news-since he knew how important davy was to me in my teen years.

The show still runs here in the US and this weekend has been a Monkee Marathon. Every episode looped twice. Long story short. My Father met DavI’d on behalf of me, his 13 year old daughter and 51 years later, my Dad says that he often thinks about how gracious David was to him. Your uncle is still loved worldwide by millions and that is a testament to his character. 💕 Thank you for sharing with us🙏

These family interviews are so special. They were so kind to do them and give us an insight into the man many of us have idolized for years. I love going home and visiting all my old hangouts, so it is very endearing to hear how he was the same. That he was generous and kind was a given. It came through in all he did. Thankyou to the family for there graciousness and generosity in sharing about our most beloved Davy Jones.

I'm sad he passed so young, but I saw him live in Chicago about 15 years ago and he was giving a dig to his sisters because they hadn't remained athletic like he had. I didn't think that nice of a brother to do. his sisters had to take care of families and weren't famous. I thought it was a selfish thing to say. his comments tarnished my view him.
