Rare records with a Hereford connection: this is CC Mann and a synthpop song called My Shooting Star from 1979. Colin Mann did the vocals for this and a few other songs written by Ben Holland. Mary Ip (from the Ip Sisters) provided backing vocals. They were engineered at Chapel Lane Studios, situated in Hampton Bishop, which was bought as a Chapel in 1978 and adapted into a recording studio. We...

This is Susie Hep with an excellent electro-pop song from Eighties. Susie lives in Hereford, yet her songs have been popular further afield in parts of Europe. Much more info on the video including some links with the Ip Sisters, Swamp Records and Girls Aloud. We think this is a brilliant Eighties song that should of got more notice. What do you think? Thanks to Sue Hepworth for her generous he...

Bulmers DIY Comedian Kit by Bob Monkhouse Rare Hereford Rare 7" Flexi-disc Record Sides A&B
zhlédnutí 567Před 5 lety
This is Bulmers promotional party record from 1963. It gave you the chance to be part of a comedy double act with Bob Monkhouse. We'll have more photos and the script on Friday. In the meantime, you can follow the red text in the video to fill-in the gaps. The record was a flexi disc which were popular with magazines and fan clubs as they were cheap, flexible and thin. They were so thin that yo...

amicus is one my fave studios for their anthology films, and yet i struggle to find anyone who has heard of amicus.. especially over seas horror fans in the US. I bring up Amicus in a discussion and they are like "what?" what a tragic shame
I went to Aylestone school between 1977 and 1982. I remember Mr Roberts, he was a good teacher, head of our 3rd year, in the Widemarsh site. I worked at Sun Valley between 1984-1991. Initially as a casual doing turkey trussing for Christmas, then kept on to work in Corbett Block on the McNugget line the B&B line running the packing and labelling machines.
Bob Palmer what a tosser
I worked here during my uni holidays as a student (1996-1999). Fun times. I'm a vegetarian now.
I hear that a lot of people are put off eating meat after working in these types of places. I really can understand why.
Times must have been hard before big finish
Really hard this is on another level 😂😂
Is this the trailer for Revolution of the Daleks?

It's hardly changed. Only the cars and clothes.
It doesn't look like it's changed much at all since then ! Which is good.
Any clues as to what the censored pieces of music might be?
I'm Hereford born and bread and a resident and love passionately the place I live in. It's where I was educated, where my twin died and it's where my lows and highs have been. I've staged amazing rave parties back in the day also called 'Transition,' which are still remembered to this day. It's always been a place of culture and creativity in all quarters. I think this was a good angle. I'm not sure if it has past or not but it's true it doesn't have to be metropolitan to be indicative of culture. Good going. Mark P.S the outdoor scene is pretty cool to as depicted on my channel. Peace!
typical may, she was too busy screwing up Brexit.
Recorded at Chapel Lane Studios, Hampton Bishop, Hereford. 1000 copies were printed and given to all the employees of DRG in Hereford and Bristol. Produced and engineered by Paul Cobbold.
So nice to see at least a little of the Town as it was Thank you.
say what you like about sun valley but you met real people there, learned valueable lessons in life, made some bloody good friends and for a school leaver it was really good money.
Loved that - so many great memories. I remember 80 into 81 getting snowed in, school was off for the week and we built an igloo. All the best. Mark
I let that one roll. Very enjoyable - takes me back and yeah I sure do remember the Ip Sisters. Interesting though to hear Susie still lives here. Good going. Mark
I chatted with Danny once at Job Club. He was a funny guy. Nice tune! All the best. Mark
Quality record. Next on the playlist is Me and You and a Dog Named Boo 😁
Respectfully, my father Terry was in the regiment for 22 years - all very glittery it sounds! I'm happy the munitions factory is being redeveloped mind you and a bit sad because we would play there as kids dreaming of being 'special forces' as we ran on the roofs and played as covert soldiers. Yes, Hereford sure is making use of its associations, which is the case in the life without doubt. It should attract all manner of people.
Hey that's a pretty epic trailer. I remembered lots of original stuff in there. Fabulously done. All the best. Mark
Anyone who worked there in the 90s will remember Gill Cook. She used to make you a cake if it was your birthday. Haven't seen her in years. She lived in Leoninster and worked there over 25 years
I was there 4 years after I left school in 1996-2000. Omg we had some laughs on macdonalds line 2
Well done ladies !
Definitely support the campaign to get these woman recognized. I love em all - deer old folk who played their part. I created a video you might be interested in on this channel. Out of respect I've left the link out. It's up to the viewer to seek it out. All the best. Mark

i went to Aylestone from 1990-1995 remember that assembly hall on my first day. i was late 😅😅
Be you didn't know she's my great aunty.
It's good - a more multi-dimensional town. All the best to it and the students. Mark
I remember the occasional chicken carcass falling off the line. Glad I had my orange helmet on!
Summer job: 1986, 1987, 1988... Orange helmet ("Cabbage") Portions lines: Shoving chicken carcasses on moving cones, pulling fat out of carcasses, sitting with grannies and chicken breasts, McDonalds heavyweight carcasses... Repetitive strain disorder... The money paid for driving lessons, a new boombox, art materials and clothes....
I worked there when the filming took place , i was sitting on bench when they were looking at the baby .....when corbett block got burnt down was sent to france and got kicked out which ended up on the news lol
slimy creep with the blue helmet

I worked there from 1989-1998 2003 - 3006 Now I'm on my way to becoming a best selling author,.
Jason Chapman you would of been there when I installed the rendering cookers 😁
The pay also isn't good anymore. It's crap. Take home less than 300 a week to work nights . Rubbish

that would be David Podmore, or maybe Tracy Berkerley, or perhaps Neil Jakeman.
