I don't think Aqua is stronger than terra, her only "Victory" was against a Terranort that was allready defeated by the Terra's armor to the point he was questioning who he was, during the fight we can Cleary see that Terra is helping her from within and at the end she is not the one who strikes him down terra takes Control of the body making terranort do something with his keyblade that makes him pass out and getting his memories mess up, the same with vanitas in ventus body, the most powerfull keyblade wielder is Xeanort and terra is the only ones who ever beat xeanort 1 at 1 , even sora had help

I really agree with what you're trying to say and I think that a lot of the story, a part of what you were saying before about power scaling just so that that one part is somehow more relevant aka the encounter with Terrahort and the rest of the guardians of light getting crushed when they shouldn't have gotten crushed there. Like yeah I got the point was to make Sora the big hero but it just didn't need to happen that way and especially not how it happened. The only good thing I think that really came from that scene was Riku showing me how much he loves Sora by shielding him from the heartless even though we already know that but I think it *shows* it in a deeper way that possibly even goes beyond friendship but it's still up to our interpretation. I don't know I just think that scene didn't need to happen and it would have been so much better because that was supposed to be the grand finale of The Dark seeker saga. Yeah the lights lost but the way they *"lost"* just didn't make sense and one member of the organization shouldn't have overpowered them so quickly especially not with how much training and all of them together at the same time. I think that scene was more important for aqua than anybody, it was supposed to show her resolve, her conquering her fear of seeing her friend again not acting himself and being somebody he's not. The aqua *we should have had* at the beginning of the first encounter should have been the one that we saw towards the end of birth by sleep that said _"My name is master aqua, release my friend or pay the price!"._ Instead we get a very based introduction to the final battles that isn't even really Worth all the wait that we had waited for. Like luxu/Xigar facilitated all of that and he's basically just going to be a part of it all over again with no real purpose behind it other than to see and watch as another _possible_ war happens. Even Roxas not having his 1-to-1 with Xemnas, I think that was honestly put badly together in my opinion especially since he was the main villain and has been his main villain for all of the series. Yes I understand Roxas is not 100% of Sora's power but that doesn't mean he couldn't have lent him his strength and give him the Justice that he deserves for all of the suffering that was put through on him by Xemnas. I just think also all of this *codependence* on Sora to get things done it's just really annoying, like yeah he should be there to help support and guide the majority of the work done but he shouldn't be doing so much of the heavy lifting. I don't know it's just boring to me and makes a lot of what the characters went through for nothing if they're not going to get there stories as they should be.

I think you are being a little to hard on Luxu, but mostly because you are anticipating a story that will feel lackluster compared to past stories rather than any specific complaints

I think the main problem isnt luxu himself just the world building of UnionX story connecting with the current era of the kingdom hearts series as a whole. Its jarring , its like Normua is trying soo hard to.make the over arching plot of the story bigger than it needs to be with. Numerous origins of keyblade wielders which ruins both kh 1-3 and birth by sleep

Sora will definitely be the one to SOLO all the major bosses going forward. Aqua on the other hand. I'm positive you're taking it way out of perspective. She will train Kairi to be a "master" for sure. Most likely OFF-SCREEN. and after that, Aqua will probably just be shafted along with Terra. If she has any relevance in the next arc. the wayfinder trio will only be included because of Ventus as companions but I highly doubt they will have such a big role to play in the next arc as we hope.

does xigbar have that much to do with the bbs trio tho? sure they fought once or twice and he helped xehanort but he has far more to do with sora, riku, roxas and xion than anyone off the bbs trio imo

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago I would’ve been down for Star Wars being in Kingdom Hearts but considering what Disney has done to the Star Wars brand lately, even if they used the Original trilogy they will definitely mess up the characters just like they did in the Sequel trilogy especially Luke so I have no faith they would do this right because this is Disney we’re talking about.

I disagree on the part where Xigbar was a huge part of Aqua's character. but I do think the birth by sleep trios story gets shafted by the foretellers and MoM plot unfortunately I think that is the real problem.

So while I took different things away from Xigbar surviving... I do share that hope of yours that there are good reasons planned for leaving such a major enemy of the Wayfinder Trio alive and scheming for the Lost Master Saga. If Aqua is not meant to play a major role in taking down the villainous Luxu, Ven and Terra darn well better

I mean Xigbar/Luxu only messed with them twice in the whole game in BBS. Unless you count when Terranort is Apprentice Xehanort. So three times. Honestly they were just confused on who he was to begin with and more concerned with everything else going on. You could remove Braig from that game, and the events would still happen only Vanitas would be more involved earlier probably. Plus I am sure Xehanort would find another person or plan to get Terra to unlock his Darkness. With Aqua he only met her, once mocked her & Ventus, instigated a fight, and then left. He literally was just a distraction. Now if you said Terra I might have seen your point. Given how he was second major event leading to Terra's fall to Darkness, (with the first being Maleficent, third being Eraqus & Ventus event, and lastly Xehanort triggering him during their fight). I think you are stretching his interactions with with the BBS Trio. I get that you wanted more from the BBS Trio, but aside from Luxu/Xigbar, their character arcs still happen regardless. He is very much involved yes, but he was not their direct nemesis. Not to mention they literally have no idea about Luxu being Xigbar is a thing inuniverse. Especially since they are busy all being in the Realm of Darkness looking for clues for Sora. Only the audience and the Foretellers know who he is. Also I fail to see how just because a character turned out to be another would impact Aqua's path of becoming a teacher. That would not really change much. Other than being more informed about past Keyblade Masters I guess. Aqua's character arc was about learning to not uphold the toxic ideals of perfectionism that Eraqus unintentionally placed upon her, not judging others without context, not needing to accept all burdens applied to her, and be willing to accept help when struggling internally instead of bottling up her doubts. Sorry it seems you kinda let your emotions control your argument here. I am not saying you need to like the Luxu connections or Xigbar, not at all, but maybe take a step back and reassess your view here.

I like to think that Ansem himself had a bit of inner conflict with his himself, not so much in terms of who he was, but in terms of what he himself really wanted. This may also be apparent in the identity he took. He chose not to resume the identity of Xehanort, but that of Ansem, and while it could be assumed that it was used to keep his true identity hidden at the time, you also have to consider that he was already calling himself Xehanort before splitting into Ansem and Xemnas, so that trail of breadcrumbs was already there to begin with. Additionally, you have to consider that Ansem is only part Xehanort, but is also part Terra. I think it might have been that Terra aspect of him that was, in a sense, trying to reach out to Riku and guide him along some kind of path to make him stronger, whereas the Xehanort side of him wanted to manipulate Riku, just as he did Terra. In the end, I think the Terra side of him had an overall influence on who Ansem ended up being. Even after Terra was freed toward the end of KH3, the mark he left on Ansem may still have remained. Of course, this is all just a theory.... a GAME theory!

I think its similar to Sasuke and Orochimarui were Sasuke wants power and Orochimarui wants his body. Riku wanted to be strong for pity reasons and Assem took advantage. Both Sasuke and riku eventually grow not needing them but accepting that they help them grow

Nomura neglected Kairi for so long that involving her in current projects would be bad timing. Unless KH4 (dlc) is the game she becomes fully playable 😮 we would love to train as Kairi and possibly sneak off to try and save sora

The dude forgets if the foretellers did not exist there would be no "Keyblade war", for Xehanort to take inspiration from. Xehanort researched the lost masters which are the Foreteller "Keyblade Wielders" of the old era. Remember when Kingdom Hearts 2 first dropped people were complaining who are these Random people in black coats "did I miss a game".The same thing will happen with the foretellers in Kingdom Hearts 4.

Honestly I completely understand why you don't like the foretellers or MoM in the story. Personally Im fine with them but growing up and playing through the story of kh - birth by sleep TO THEN having to deal with back cover and union x does make the two stories not mesh well. Base kh before the fairy tale stories already had an established plot , but the lore behind the keyblade wielders and darkness from long ago feels shoe horned in. I think it would have been better to complete xehonarts dark seeker saga THAN introduce MoM if they needed to in kh4 . I don't think the mobile games were necessary cause it seems like they are trying to tell a completely different story for those who dont not like the direction where it going.

It's okay that you don't like it. To have a puppeteer path does remove accountability for a lot of characters, and that is rarely done well in writing. Your gripes make sense and are absolutely understandable. I was trying to more just answer the position in the video that you didn't know, so it seemed like you had forgotten that detail in the story, that was all. It's the same reason I also bring up the next bit: MoM was also always watching from the sidelines, since that's the origin story of the Book of Prophecies due to it being MoM's Waypoint (aka Gazing Eye) observing history that he then writes down to set the story in motion. MoM never trained Xehanort and neither did Luxu, they moreso set up Xehanort to fail. Odin and Player trained Xehanort, not MoM or Luxu, they more just nudged him and Xehanort would still choose his own actions. Why they set him up to fail is technically up for speculation, since the 2 game rule means we really shouldn't consider a payoff until either KH 4 or Missing Link, but that was another misunderstanding. I'm sorry if anything I'm saying coming off as rude. Just trying to make sure that misunderstandings are cleared up as much as I can 😅

You COMPLETELY left out the part about Unreality. And not only that, you completely left out the whole of dark road, and Ux. And forget to mention all the times its been hinted at that xigbar wasn’t as he seemed, like in DDD, or in BBS. And to argue even further, xehanort being connected to the master of masters would know a great deal about his keyblade. Knowing this, who else knows about this keyblade? Why would *Braig* even know you can be bequeathed one? And why else would xehanort be so close to him? It was just under your nose, and you probably felt cheated because you feel like the character of luxu “doesn’t match xigbar” when you forget that the master of masters was playful, while also serious, and sly, with luxu being an example of an apprentice imprinting on their master, i mean its all over his character not to mention his numerous body swaps to get through history in one piece, of course they would have to find a way for him to come back. It’s literally written in the book that darkness will prevail and light expire, which it did. Until sora flipped the script. Which makes him vs the foretellers even more interesting assuming luxu WAS the traitor

I want to say that I totally agree with you with these foretellers and xigbar , the foretellers to me is just such an asspull their existence is the worst thing that tetsu noMora has ever created, truth be told I'm just so sick and tired of these random keyblade wielders coming out of nowhere, not only am I tired of them but I'm also tired of the organization, their story should be done in over with and their existence is long overdue, and about xigbar although he was never really of interest to me I still liked his character, he seemed liked he was a man who followed his own rules but was still loyal to the organization, it did really seem like he had more to him then what we got when he revealed himself to be Lucius. All I could do was just roll my eyes and say it of course tetsu Nomura.

let's be honest, the only part of the whole foreteller saga that's worth something is the 5 minutes where the MoM explains his backstory. which could have just been a flashback in KH4. and it probably will be anyway.

In the beginning, Kingdom Hearts had a level of restraint that it was necessary to have, since the very concept was a bit out of left field. They went with simple but well-executed concepts along a coming of age Hero's Journey that was lovable for fans of Disney and FF alike, as well as many others. At this point in the franchise, the lore is so deep, all over the place, contingent on playing on a unique game platform for nearly every entry of the series (and thus in order to get a *complete* contextual understanding beyond a simple cutscene movie), and in the end it still falls on so many tropes and gimmicks and Gotchas that there's a reason people compare it to fanfiction, because it's frankly an amateur patchwork of implicitly novel and interesting concepts, but it's less than the sum of its parts. As a game, I feel about KH3 like I do about Borderlands 3, in that the gameplay is legitimately the best it's ever been in my opinion (with a few gripes that I'm grateful the modding scene has done a LOT to remedy), but the story is so far down the shitter I consider it functionally unsalvageable save for a soft reboot or something. I don't suspect as much, but I hold a small amount of hope that there'll at least continue to be things I find valuable from the series in the future, at least enough that I choose to keep playing the games.

So... before I watch the video, my spouse had similar complaint's about the overuse of "black coats" and hidden identities. The way I see it, the Foretellers are the next iteration of Organization XIII styled "bad guys," but perhaps with more grey storytelling with the factions within the organization perhaps holding different alignments. But all the narrative flaws with Org. 13 were on full showcase with the Foretellers, hopefully they will be fleshed out well like some of Org. 13 has been.
