If I tried this, I know I'd pole vault myself off the cliff and die
Where do I get one from?
Where do you get the polls from?
Roosevelt's favorite video, the definition of "speak softly and carry a big stick."
That's so bad ass crazy 😂 so cool
Canario.
Do you make the Poles yourself? Is there somewhere to purchase the pole?
Fuck that
With people like you we can truly say the guanches never really died out, they just adapted and changed
This is the most beautiful documentary I've seen. A real ode to the old canarios. Thank you very much for making such a wonderful video, makes me proud to be Canary Island heritage. My grandfather had a lanza, we still have some land up the mountain that the shepherds still use for their cattle. I'ts wonderful how the canary islands is so connected to its past yet so few understand or promote this.
This is soooo much better than all the other videos I've seen on this, it actually shows it being used. Wow, those cliffs look terrifying, but also, awesome!
el palo canario
Chacho¡
Hickers be like = let's rotate camera 90⁰ to make video look like dangerous
I have a new obsession...
safety in cords and 2 ways to do it ...cool to see the shepherd's leap in real view ...👍
I can really see how this pole makes traversing easier in this video
Faaaaaaaaaark, No way, in NZ cooool
🌈
Nope.
Ropes......we don't need no stinking ropes
He's got that style when he does it

Goosebumps 😱
That’s super cool, but I think il stick with the rope line.
And u wonder why he has duct tape on his helmet
It’s so cool to see the paths they’ve been taking for many generations after generation . Glad ppl are bringing it back
Generations?
@@shashankkaveti6894 Since the Guanche period 3000 years ago people have been shepherding their goats in the mountains and for that amount of time, they have used this "lance" to travel with their goats. Generations.
What tree in new Zealand can I use for the pole?
They're generally pine or teak I think
The camera angle made my head spin. Wow wow and wow it looks amazing.
This video deserves way more views!
I’m from the Canary Islands and I loved your video. I recommend making one about the “Juego del Palo”, another amazing activity from our ancestors.
This is unimaginably dangerous. The pleasant music and the seemingly relaxed pace at which this man is performing this technique contribute to the illusion that this is some leisurely afternoon activity. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Yeah and it's fucking awesome.
We got an expert over here
@@gabeelkins9059 I mean, to an extent yeh but Gabriel has a point.
Seems legit to me😁
The vid is upside down btw
Sooo true 🤣🤣🤣
This is just what i've been needing when navigating the rocky terrain in South Texas! All the rivers here are surrounded by 10ft tall boulders and regular trekking poles arent sufficient. My friends and I usually have to manually climb and descend by hand. I cant wait to make a Saltadores pole.
Curiously, the state of Texas is closely related to Canary Islanders, who were the founders of San Antonio, maybe you can contact some Islanders association.
I wouldn’t feel too great about climbing below someone doing this. It’s an impalement waiting to happen.
The guy or gal in this video seems super skillful so likely not with them but I'd imagine you'd take that inti consideration before hand
