The aim of this series is to teach Arabic verbs that are in common usage. Each verb is presented in the past and present tense, together with the related verbal noun and, where applicable, is followed by its opposite to help the learner retain the paired vocabulary. An illustrative sentence for each verb is also provided to aid memorisation, expand vocabulary knowledge, and to help the learner see the verb in use.

      Thank you for your comment, and sorry for any confusion. Both are correct and may be used interchangeably. Min fadlik literally means 'from your generosity or kindness' and is equivalent to the English 'if you would be so kind [as to do something for me].' Low samaht literally means 'if you would permit'. It comes from the verb samaha meaning to allow or to permit. You may also come across the word rajaa'an as an alternative to the above that also means 'please' and originates from the verb 'to hope'.
