Im still driving my 79 continental and my 06 signature Lincolns are the best cars 😎😎
@@user-zu1ni5cd1g how do you find the 06 model for driving and comfort
This side profile is beyond beautiful. The US had a gorgeous car culture, sadly it seems like it has gone away. Their cars are still massive, but have less of an own character than decades ago.
@@marcfuchs6938 I agree the cars America made years ago had style but today that has all gone, I can’t get excited with any new car produced today
I enjoyed the video and I like the Lincoln Mark V also. That is great it traveled across Canada.
The Lincoln is parked up at a friends house until September, then we go back over and drive it back west to the radium hot springs car show in BC and then east all the way to Halifax Nova Scotia
BEAUTIFUL CAR ! BACK WHEN LUXURY CARS HAD STYLE, ELEGANCE, AND INDIVIDUALITY.
I couldn’t agree with you more, this was back in the day when cars were designed by humans and not computers
😢SS6558992002ix875899TX😢
Mark V is the best highway cruiser, been driving them since I was a kid in my dad’s Toronado. Now I have a Mark V at 60 years old, love the car
@@brianmorrison8652 if you want a cruiser you can’t get better than the Mark V
Beautiful car, love the Mark V’s
@@brianmorrison8652 I agree they are a nice smooth riding car
Great Car! Music and camera work suck. Thanks for sharing.
The car my mom had. Same color even. Memories galore ❤️

When autos were works of art.
I agree, they can’t make nice looking cars today because they are all computer designed
Love the majestic cloth "Versailles Interior", that was a $2000.00 option for those marks. I own a 76 Town Car and love it. It transports me back to my youth in the Disco era.
I like the town cars as well, I agree also that when driving these cars it takes you back in time
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Thats a classick right there!
Pretty car. Looks good in that combination. Just so you know, the Opera Windows in your car are taken from a 4 door Continental, with the wider Continental star vs the narrower ones used on the Marks.
Thanks for the info
hope that AC works shes been toasty
Luckily the AC is ice cold
As you are currently half way through the videos of the cross country trip, my comment is a mout point. But here it is. Definitely a big block. The 80’s wagons are great but have no power. The big, green Marquis would be my choice, but it is almost too nice. After the Lincoln, Maybe the OBS Ford. I was surprised to see two catalytic converters on the Continental. Was that stock? Just scrapped the catalyst from my 1975 Toronado. I got 8 dollars Canadian. That thing was full of holes and looked like it had burnt up from a rich running engine. Can’t imagine the worked well before electronic controls and Oxygen sensors. Thanks for the music and cars.
I agree the wagons look great but definitely lacked power, I think in the late 70’s the car manufacturers started to panic over the emissions and threw everything onto the engines, I did like the green Marquis but couldn’t get the right deal sorted
Beautiful car so much class and style.
The Lincoln drives excellent
Why is "road tripping" in a 77 Continental even on You Tube....thats a regular car!!! WTF!! This must be made by a millennial that stole his grandpa's car....
You first rate twat, what is an idiot like you doing on CZcams, you shouldn’t even have control of the remote for the TV. I am guessing you forgot your take your pills for a few days
There's nothing "regular" about these cars. They may not be for you, but the experience they give is like nothing else.
Like driving a boat lil man.
music is snake crap o lousy cream= junk
Wheres the lincoln???????
The Lincoln is parked up inside a friends garage in Unity Saskatchewan until we return in September to carry on the road trip
This car reminds me of those 80's

Did the Lincoln make the trip anymore meaningful for you ??
Every trip is more meaningful, the Lincoln is more comfortable than the Chrysler and taking the back roads and stopping in the small towns and chatting to people is so much better than just driving the trans Canada highway
Yeah, all those diesel powered F150s...
Beautiful! I'm going to look at a 77 Cartier on Saturday!
That’s great, I like the Cartier edition, what color is it, let me know if you get it.
@MrThompsonusa I certainly will. It looks like the same colour as yours. Dove Grey?
@@KevinMoltner yes very similar, my Lincoln is a silver metallic, dove grey is a nice color
With that Blue crushed velour interior like living room on wheels
@@anddyyoung I member when everybody’s sofa was crushed velour lol
A dream of mine. Wishing you safe travels and memories to last a lifetime
The trip has been great so far, I would definitely recommend it to anyone
How did the Mark drive? How would you compare it to the 69 Chrysler?
I like both cars, the Lincoln is a smoother drive and more comfortable, also has all the electrics and tilt wheel, the Chrysler is the basic model no electric windows, seats, tilt wheel or cruise control, gas wise the 460ci in the Lincoln is about the same gas mileage as the 383ci in the Chrysler, I am going to put up a video of the Lincoln with some interior photos
Nice to see you back!
We have just started the road trip across Canada in the Mark V Lincoln 2 weeks ago, we head back to England now but we come back in September to do part 2, there will be a few videos going up of part 1 over the next couple of weeks
Beautiful.
How many miles are on that beauty?
60,000 it was originally brought new in Texas by somebody in the oil business and was taken up to Alberta Canada
Its lost a lot from the '64.
It was back in the day when every car had a different styling each year, not like todays cars which are the same year in year out
Hey Mark great video!
How much for it?
The Galaxie 500 isn’t for sale
Such a very nice car and in my home town of Pearland TX it's once in a blue moon that you can see someone driving in one of these.
The Lincoln was originally purchased new in Texas by somebody in the oil business and was brought up to Alberta
@MrThompsonusa there is one you can find here throughout Houston TX at a dealership called Bayway Lincoln. This particular one is red and white and it's a Bill Blass edition. They have it sitting in a showroom floor and if you google it you can find it.
@@adape0884frankI will see if I can find it

Hi Mark! The Mark V good choice i showed my son the pictures of the cars he picked the LTD and the Mark V . I hope you folks have a wonderful journey together enjoy each other while you can!!
Hi Gary, your Son has good choice, they were also our first 2 picks, in June we will be there for 2 weeks to pick the car up and arranging to get it serviced but will be staying in the Kelowna & Vancouver area, then in September we will be collecting the car and then heading east to Toronto, it would be great to maybe meet up in September
@@MrThompsonusa We will keep in touch through the channel and figure something out then.
I owned a 1973 Ford Thunderbird & loved it + a 1976 Lincoln town car 🙃🤗💪👍 like to get a Lincoln LSC
Thunderbirds are nice, I also had a 76 town car and a 97 town car
It's not a Ten-Cans air-bag 🌈🌈
Hello how are you doing on your road trip? Love the car you are driving 🙃🌈🤗💪👍
We have completed that road trip in the 69 Chrysler Newport, we are starting another road trip across Canada in June in a 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V
@@MrThompsonusa Love to get a 1974 Lincoln continental 🙃🤗💪👍
@@KennethAlexander-mj2zt they are nice to, I also like the Mark 3 Lincoln’s
Gorgeous Real Car
They definitely don’t make them like this anymore
@@MrThompsonusa I have a few Not as nice It’s very difficult to keep nice things Not Lincoln’s - old 71 LTD , 72 Pontiac LeMans 67- olds cutlass 68 Delmont - the population is brainwashed to buy CFR trilateral commission products I’m not getting into that now The point is Your correct That is a real car A joy to drive It’s not the destination It is the destination itself - the post 70 low compression and post 74 smog engines killed the reputation internationally giving the rust belt to Japanese But - there hasn’t been a decent car since - my friend retuned - a 77 460 Omg - unbelievable power I was impressed It through that big old car around like a go kart Unbelievable - proper oil changes and oil cooler and care - get almost 17 on highway I get 21 with a 351 C They will go over 200,000 with proper care Maybe more Most where run into the ground 10,000 years of human history 10,000 to go And only got a decent ride for a few short years And even then - one must work ones ass off to keep it The other people get extremely jealous. 10-4 and Seig Heil 14/88 and Yes Henry Ford 😎 💯 He would definitely approve of the Lincoln
Hello looks like a snow Cat Lincoln mark 🌈🤗🙃👍💪
Rare interior...Majestic Velour.
Should be comfortable on a long road trip across Canada
Rather have that than any electric car! 😎
I agree 100%, those electric cars are all bland with no character just like the people that buy them
My Dad has one of these back in the day. He loved that car.
They are nice smooth riding cars, I have had 3 previous Mark V Lincoln’s, your dad chose well
Any mods planned to help mpg? My uncles had 79 Mark V and Town Cars when they were newer. 8mpg city 11mpg highway. I love the Mark V Smooth wonderful rig.
No plans to really modify the Lincoln as of yet, just keep it original, hopefully the mpg can’t be any worse that the 69 Chrysler Newport lol
Hey Mark great choice ! the car looks and sounds great and i hope it serves you well on your adventure!
Mark- Are these vehicles shown here easy to obtain. Are they all found from various sources? I like your theme classic car on a roadtrip
Hi Kevin, yes they are easy to obtain, I use to buy a lot of classics out of the States but with the £ to $ ratio it is more economical for me to buy out of Canada, I use various sources, I have just purchased the silver metallic Lincoln Mark V which is located in Kelowna BC and we plan on going over early June. We have just completed a road trip across Canada back in September/October in a 1969 Chrysler Newport. we have put a lot of videos of that trip up on CZcams so worth taking a look. Also worth remembering is a non resident can register and insure a car in British Columbia
@@MrThompsonusa I live in the Midwest (Iowa) and thinking about this. Do Canada cars have Kilometer speedometer/odometer? Thank You
@@kevinschoeppler4115 some Canadian cars have kilometres but most of the classic cars in Canada are in MPH, a few years ago I purchased a 66 Chevy Caprice SS from a guy who lived in a small town in Iowa, the silver Lincoln Mark V I just purchased is from Texas and was owned by somebody in the oil business who sold it to a friend in the oil business in Alberta, a good source to check out for classic cars in Canada is kijji put that into google and it will come up
Nothing compares these days to big ole cruisers like this 🎉 Nice find 🎉
This 69 Chrysler Newport was purchased in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and is rust free because they don’t put salt on the road and most classic cars do not get used in the winters in Canada
I love all the cars in your video 🤗👍🌈💪
They all have their pluse’s
