The crazy thing is he really could've ended it here I think Mark's career would've had an ideal finish. He had a phenomenal 2011 run, got a bit mediocre in 2012, then came back in 2013 with a bang beating Ryback at Wrestlemania. Everything after this promo sadly was purely mediocre downfall in my opinion.

IMO not giving the WWE title to this Mark Henry was a big mistake. He deserved one last run as a world champion.

Aj Styles was nothing compared to this, nothing, a pale imitation that fans didn't really believe. This is one of the greatest promo's in history. Nobody saw the swerve comming because Henry was absolutely stellar in this. The emotion and sincerity in his delivery is believable and so was his run up in the company just before this to announce his retirement. It really is a perfect moment made perfection by the performance of one man.

I been watching wrestling from golden era, the new generation era, attitude era, aj styles debut over 30 years

I was at this Raw in Grand Rapids Michigan in 2013. This promo is an all time great swerve. Not-fun fact: Daniel Bryan got seriously injured (shoulder?) at this same Raw.

It was perfect.. perfect. Down to the very top😔😪🧎🏾‍♂️‍➡️🙏🏾

Mark is an exceptional talent, and alot of these guys can have great acting skills, but to be fair, I think the tears weren't acted, I think he played off that because the reaction was getting to him. It seemed like he didn't think the crowd would react so positive for him.
