I feel like it was mostly a power thing. Pep didn't want a squad where others felt they had seniority over him. There was no logical reason to snub Joe Hart that fast with little to no chances to show his capability in game. Sure, he's no Ederson with his feet, but he's more than capable of playing out back and was a FAR better shot stopper. Let's not even get on about his immediate replacement. Buying Claudio Bravo and going trophyless as a result. Pep should've at least given Joe the season to prove himself.
