Metunar is my music project.
In the Playlist i have:
"Metunar Live Set" shows what i play live.
In the "ESK" (Experimental Sound Kitchen) videos i do demos, sound experiments or simple jams.
"Electro Traveller" is electronic music done live at a nice place somewhere in the world.
"Multicam" is an old project which was first intended as test shot for a video clip i did for a friend. I liked it so much that i did a series of videos.

A simple sound demo of the GRP A2 analog synthesizer. I used ringmodulation and the internal arpeggiator. The Elektron Digitone does only sequencing and effects (Delay and Reverb). Soft Mastering. www.metunar.ch
ESK - Sequencer + Seiko DS-250 + DS-310
zhlédnutí 193Před 4 měsíci
Testing the Seiko DS-250 DS-310 digital additiv synthesizer with a sequencer. The Elektron Digitone is only for sequencing and effects. I didn’t change the spectrum or envelope parameters live, because it makes digital noises. By the way, the Midi of the Seiko DS-250 is super strange. Midi input is the connector labeled „Midi Thru“. Why did they do that? Soft Mastering. www.metunar.ch
ESK - Sound Demo Seiko DS-250 + DS-310
zhlédnutí 324Před 4 měsíci
A sound demo of the Seiko DS-250 digital additiv synthesizer and the programmer Seiko DS-310. The Elektron Digitakt is used 2 times for some extra reverb or delay. Soft Mastering. www.metunar.ch
ESK - Akai MPC 5000 + Ibanez RM-60 Mixer
zhlédnutí 450Před 4 měsíci
Again a jamsession with the Ibanez RM-60 mixer. This time all sounds are from the Akai MPC 5000 sampler. Lot of fun to do this video but also i had to learn again, that the Akai MPC 5000 is buggy like hell. Used the internal delay effects as well as a Lexicon PCM 90 effect for reverb. With mastering. www.metunar.ch
ESK - Drums + Mixer Jamsession
zhlédnutí 294Před 5 měsíci
Jamsession with an Elektron Digitakt and a Roland CR-8000 mixed together in an analog Ibanez RM-60 Mixer. There is also reverb from a Lexicon PCM 90 (yellow FX knob on the mixer). Furthermore I use the monitoring send as feedback line (blue FX knob on the mixer). With mastering. The Ibanez RM-60 is similar in design to the Boss KM-60. The Boss has more drive in the preamp and the HiPass filter ...
ESK - Akai MPC 5000 Delay Looping 2
zhlédnutí 258Před 5 měsíci
Looping session with an old Viscount R64S PCM drumcomputer, ASM Hydrasynth and an Akai MPC 5000 Sampler. Was again a lot of fun to do this video. What I did is to use the 4 effect buses of the MPC 5000 with delays with high feedback. So it’s like a 4 channel looper. Interesting is to change the delay time, that results in some digital stutter effect, which are nice. My Viscount R64S (same as R6...
ESK - Akai MPC 5000 Delay Looping Non Stop
zhlédnutí 147Před 5 měsíci
Looping session with a Sequential Take 5 Synthesizer and an Akai MPC 5000 Sampler. It’s a long time that i had that much fun to do a gear video. That explains the length of the session. :-) What i did is to use the 4 effect buses of the MPC 5000 with delays (they have max. 1 bar delay time) with high feedback. So it’s like a 4 channel looper. Interesting is to change the delay time, that result...

Has a load of extra fx in the output. Sounds are hard to mix, it is for solos, wind controller etc. Cool to play around on headphones, it's a performance instrument. I've had all the VLs, I used to buy them in Malaysia, they were cheap at end of sale period as no-one wanted them; note the VL70m sounds very cut down, that's why it is inexpensive in comparison (has a couple of great sounds though). VL7 is mono but sound same as VL1. Patchman do synths and other sounds.
so schön retro❤ hatte vor 14 jahten mal einen in london.. hat halt noch style😉
Interesting video! Been meaning to try out a Bullfrog.
Yes, try it out, I always have fun to play with the Bullfrog synth.
Love this box 🫶🏻
Sounds incredibly rich - Wow!
I have a MK II, and I think it's little different than the MK I. I really want to get one of those MK I's . the tone seems to be not as harsh as the MKII. more beefy . cool idea to layer them. Is the stereo field out of the Syntrx?
I couldn't compare the 2 versions. But i think the MK2 has some good improvements. On the MK1 I find the filter quite characterless, specially the resonance and the vernier dials are not good (they have a dead spot when changing direction). Also no sequencer on the matrix. I would keep the MK2. Anyway, yes, i recorded the syntrx on the most tracks stereo. Or by moving the pan manually or with a pseudo pan modulation. But I used also stereo effects from the MPC.
dammm that sounds good. the sonic ware drums sound killer, and of course the Frog sounds thick as shit. really great.
Have you drilled the CR8000 for separate outputs?:) What is elektron doing? Nice sound you got there💡
No separate outs on the CR8000. The Elektron does also drum sounds in this video. So in the mixer goes 2 channels (stereo) from the Elektron, 1 channel form the CR8000, 1 channel for feedback and the Lexicon Reverb FX goes into the FX Return. Quite simple.
Is that front panel made of.. ..wood? (I never saw a VL up-close, but it would explain the price these things cost)
i think it's artificial wood.
A very good demonstration, thank you very much! It is clear to hear why a first generation Syntrx sounds more unique and, to me, more interesting than its successor, the Syntrx II, which has neither a diode filter nor a spring reverb.
ya I agree. I love my MKII, but that MKI def has a different sound. If I could get one, it would be really cool to run one Into the other.
Hi! I see that you have (or had) both an E7 and Nina and was hoping that you could give me (and others in my position) some insights and guidance for choosing between them. They clearly have very different feature sets, but what I'm interested in is the raw sound of the VCOs. If you consider the wildness, rawness, character-fullness of VCOs and compare on a scale from zero = a modern analog polysynth (which often sound a bit tame before you start using slop/drift etc. but even then it's not really the same) to 10 = the E7 (which sounds very characterful, buzzy, drifty just out of the gate), where would you put the two analog VCOs of Nina? I'm asking because I really like the raw sound of the E7 but also the user interface of the NINA (especially tweaking a multitimbral patch that is sequenced) and its sound, but I would like to get a polysynth that sounds wild enough off the shelf. For context, I have a Novation Summit, and yes, you can try to coax some wildness out of it with drift, detune etc. but I don't find it inspiring or really doing the same. In contrast I got a Dreadbox Nymphes, which I love the sound of (also very characterful VCOs off the shelf), but the user experience is, unfortunately, terrible. And: How redundant are the E7 and Nina for you? How do you use the two? Thanks so much!
Hi, i still have both synth's, but they are not in the same studio. So i can not and haven't done any comparing. I also didn't used the Nina much till now. I plan to use Nina for a live project, where it has its strength. The E7 OSC are actually quite stable, sure better then on a Vermona Perfourmer for example and I think the Nina has also quite stable OSC's, at least as far as i tested them. In my opinion the gain staging between OSC-Filter-VCA is more important to the character soundwise then differences on the shape of different OSC's groundwaves. And i don't like unstable OSC's. So i think i can not help you much in your question. Perhaps the Dreadbox Murmux would be interesting for you. It can do nice drifted sounds (Poly-LFO on pitch with detune drift) and also can distort on different stages in the signal chain. Anyway, i use the E7 in the studio, because he has a drawback live. He has on some parameters a HF-Noise while changing the parameter (Master Volumen, move it fast and you will here it). The Nina naturally is perfect for live, where the knobs are always on the correct position, only the NL3 has the same perfect overview. That's it, perhaps that helps a bit.
@@Metunar thanks a lot for your thoughts, very helpful!
Awesome
Nice !
perfect for the autobahn \m/
Are you selling your 8raw8?
No, but you still can buy them new.
matrixsynth magic carpet bought me here and im pleased with that
Thank you for sharing. It’s so hard to come by those DS 310s. I wonder what it would take to clone that subtractive synth module. I’m also wondering as the synth stands alone, does the additional module help add much. I’m wondering if the additive synth is already there and the module is just the tactile editor. My DS-250 already sounds amazing as it is. Let me know if you’ve Tried it alone as well as with the 310 module. How different is it? Thank you
The DS-310 is only an Editor with Memory for 4 Sounds. You can get much more out of the DS-250 with it. Especially if you like digital synth sounds.
@@Metunar thank you for the insights. Very helpful to know
Oh man the seiko synth sounds so cool being sequenced like that. Love the way it does additive
Ciao, grazie per i demo di questo sintetizzatore, sono interessato a comprarlo ma si trova poco materiale online
This actually just made my day! Thank you!
Very cool hardware
Great video, But I have a question. What are those small red, yelow and white slidebars or on knobs top of the organ? You don't used at all them on this video? Why?
The small sliders are for 2 preset sounds. Selectable by the 2 switches on the left of the lower keyboard. They have the same sound parameters as the big bars/sliders.
@@Metunar Ok! ☺ Thank you for your fast answering! ☺
You have one for sale🎹?

what a beautifull Desktop Synth! more, longer Demos please..... :D
Love the last « nightmare » track!
I have this synth! The keyboard is so expressive, along with the effects , makes for a great performance synth. Mine is in the process of having cv/gate in and out added too.
Cool😎👍
Very cool!!!
So glad to discovered your channel!
They are just made for each other! Thank you so much for this!
great drum sound too
cool setup!
My Tempest is lonely. Time to get another Behringer Pro-800 and run them in unison, maybe that will be good company for it.
That E-MU Virtuoso still shines. May seriously compliment along side the Behringer Solina String Ensemble and the Electro-Harmonix S9!
Haben will Faktor 😅
Thank you very much for featuring the Vectra on your channel. We put a link to this video on our Facebook page. Great vibe!
One well programmed single preset on an acoustic modeling synthesizer is a world on its own. As is proven very convincingly here. My favorite synth ever is the Technics WSA 1. Maybe a tad less expressive but very versatile because a big ROM sample set is available to be used as drivers. where the Yamaha and the Korg incarnations only offered a limited set of models all available elements can be combined freely in the WSA. Want to put a brass bell on a violin? Why not?
good sounds, but quite a high noise floor.... is that NINA?
The second last demo with the effect sound i had to boost quite a lot. So that is a bit noisy. In general the Nina hasn't a high noise floor.
@@Metunarok thanks!
great presentation
