@ 33:28 If I had to grip a pulley to keep it from turning without damaging the pulley itself, I would wrap the old belt around the pulley and use vise grip like pliers to clamp the loose ends together, this will give you a substantial way to keep the pulley from turning if you don't have access to an impact gun. It works for me but YMMV.

After changing my belts, I no longer can get it to park seem stuck gears 4-6 only any idea what could be the problem

I have a lot of vibration when I engage the blade. I assumed it was the blade but I noticed the center bearing has just a tiny amount of vertical play. Does anyone know if this center blade bearing should be very tight or have a small amount of movement?

I fited one to mine the tractor would not start With it coneted to the spark plug wire I thought it was faulty so i tryec a secon o e same isue was the unit was robbing the spark from the coil If you conected it with a clip aftef it was running it ran ok But once you stop it wont ever start again Way is this ?? There should be a recall on that intake manifold. FROD now makes a replacement manifold for the 4.6, not the 5.4. It costs you about 20 horse power. The Dorman costs you 26 HP. They should have designed an aluminum intake instead of sticking it to their customers with a piece of poop plastic intake.

The hole where the pinion shaft goes through the plate is also warn into an oval shape letting the gears not mesh properly

Think when I need to do it I'll just Dremel cut a slot in the cover without damaging the wire of course, do away with all the bolts and nuts hassle.

When I reinstalled the pulley with the arm, I mistakenly put it with the arm above the horizontal bar. It worked for a bit, then the belt jumped off (luckily not breaking). When I realized what I had done and put it below the horizontal bar, everything worked fine. Wish I had seen this video first so that I might have noticed that the arm was in the wrong place.

Probably just splice the wires right at the back of the switch. Instead of cutting all the insulation off.

This is exactly what we needed! We messed with ours for a bit and couldn’t figure out exactly why it was so stuck. We didn’t want to break anything by doing something wrong We watched your video. A few whacks with a hammer and we were moving forward. Huge help!

NOT easy? You must be doing it wrong then. step1- DO NOT remove the deck step2- LOWER the deck to its lowest setting step3- Remove old belt. Cut it if you have to. step3- feed the belt thru belt guides & around motor pully first. step4- route belt around blade pulley step 5- route belt around idler pulley last. It will be tight. Hold belt against blade pulley w one hand & reach under deck & turn blade with other hand feeding the belt onto the blade pulley. step last- Turn your kid loose on the lawn while you reward yourself with a cold one. !

Does it hold up to high RPMs?

I have a craftsman r110 and I replaced the lower drive belt. While the mower is in park, is the belt suppose to be loose to the point it doesn’t spin? It tightens up when I engage the speed to 1-5, but it is very loose when in park.

I have a tb30r. Can the steering wheel be lowered. I'm 68 female and very short..

Just changed my 4.6L intake manifold Saturday...found out this morning about this problem, luckily only a few miles from home...crazy they build this part with such a massive defect built in. I'll try this repair method and get back on the road, thanks!

Plastic cup - great tip. I’m going to start spraying mine. Repeat application is no problem for me. It will take a while to knock out the roots permanently, but I’ll keep after it. I just so happen to have both these products in the garage. Thanks 👍

After watching this video and a few others I've determined this lawnmower is not for me. I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole. LOL

I have a question after doing my TB30R, I noticed after it all went back together that the lower drive belt rubs against the transmission in gear 3 or below. I swore I must have routed it wrong, but it looks identical to yours. I can see @59:03 your lower belt is pressed against the transmission as well. Do you have any issues with it rubbing at lower gear? I've bent that wire bracket over to push it away as it will surely eat right through the aluminum. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks for the video it helped me replace my belts. And I used MTD belts

My tb30r is running properly but the blades will not stay engaged for a long time. It’s like it runs for a minute then stops. Does anyone have the solution? I replaced the plunger switch and it still has the same problem as before. Is it a belt problem?

Great video! I just replaced a deck belt for my neighbor and wasn't sure what that little arm was for. His was not broken, but I was still curious about why it was there. Thanks for sharing your fix for this. Someone’s brain waves flatlined when they designed this. Generally epoxies and plastics don’t mix do using some epoxy that’s meant for plastic might be better and scuffing with an abrasive and cleaning with acetone might help the epoxy adhere.

I purchased a 320CCA, AGM battery UL1 through Amazon for $69.99 as it should start the mower better and faster and last longer than the standard 200CCA, Non AGM UL1 that cost about $50. I'm hoping to get double the life which would be 5 or 6 years. I remove it off season (winter) and put it on a Battery Tender trickle charger for maintenance while it is out of the mower.

If you install a lift kit but go half a$$ on it with rear blocks instead of custom leaf springs, you can access it
