Al ain't very talkative...crabby 'ol man. Much respect!! Thanks for sharing 👍
Looks soooooo good!
Where is this? Florida?
Nice! Ive never had a stone crab...i love crab and lobster!! Wish I lived where I could fish for seafood 😢
I would venture that every dog and cat loves your place. Fantastic video. Thanks
Just got two traps. Thanks for the 101 lesson! Much appreciated
What are you do when a hurricane is coming do you pull your traps
Sorry we missed this! He will pull when he can. Otherwise he goes on a post hurricane Easter egg hunt.
Could you imagine as a human, sitting in a restaurant, someone drags you out and rips your arms off and kicks you out of the restaurant after 😂
Might be one of best videos saw on CZcams, in RI always have calms, even softshell or steamers, so many things can do either way, love casinos, raw bar, stuffies, clamcakes, steamed dip in butter, fried clams with bellies, chowder🤤🤤😢, just off head.. was always free, now have to pay crazy prices, had accident so disabled, glad video popped up on homepage. Tyvm
Subbed for that last reaction in the video ! An honest reaction to a delicious simple dish
I use that knife too!!! Good show guys.
Thanks!
Basically your killing the cab your just ripping the claws off leaving the crab with no defence and no means of eating
The crab doesn’t die them become gathers until the claws grow back.🦀
@@walterschaaf605 and you know this HOW. THEY WERE GIVEN TWO CLAWS FOR A REASON IF YOU LOST BOTH YOUR ARMS THE ONLY WAY YOU WOULD SURVIVE IS IF SOME ONE FED YOU CHANGED YOUR DYPER THERE IS A HUMANE WAY TO GET THE CRAB TO DROP-ITS CLAW BUT IF YOU HAVE TO USE IT TAKE ONE CLAW IVE FISHED ALL MY LIFE AND I DO EAT CRAB DONT GET ME WRONG BUT TO JUST RIP THE CLAWS OFF IS CRUEL
Most people won’t eat shel fish if it’s dead but if you know when it died it’s ok if it’s only hours to eat them
I’m Enjoying Your Guys Videos 💯🤙🏻🤙🏻 I Would Love To Try Those❤️❤️❤️
Without one claw there’s a chance they’ll die . Without both it’s a sure thing they will not survive.
This is not a true statement.
I'm pretty sure you have to pull these manually or else you will be considered a commercial vessel. Awesome video, and very informative throughout. Definitely experienced crabber.
It has nothing to do with how you pull them I know guys that pull 300 traps by hand and its commercial residential, you’re allowed 5 traps per person if you have salt water fishing license how you pull them dose not matter
@@sfllife03 5 traps has no correlation to whats harvested chief. the more important info is - 1 gal per person or 2 gal per vessel. rec regs
Dug some clams here in SC. I'm using Riesling to cook them - adds a nice riesling sweet note. I just keep all the juice including the clam juice. Nice touch with hot peppers in a white vinegar. Thank you so much for this video!
This son of gun refused to follow rules. This guy should lose his license.
First time watching your video. Really learned alot and enjoyed.
Did he just snap of both claws and throw it back saying its still alive? Not for long, u just took it hunting and defense equipment.. they need months for a regeneration care package from god
Wrong, you think DEC would allow you to harm crabs without regulations?
What he didn’t mention is that up to 63% of the crabs die when both claws are removed and up to 41% when just a single claw is removed…no matter how carefully they’re taken off.
ive read facts that state otherwise. where did you get this info??
Hey Al, Why is it that you can take both claws on a legal crab and other people can't?? Is it because you are a Commercial Crabber? Or because pf the insane laws are for recreational crabbers?
That is a great question.
rec and commercial can take both claws
Stone crab claws are so good! So expensive, but worth it once in awhile. That was fun to watch.
I've never had one! 😢
@@juliemanarin4127 girl, put it on your bucket list!
Hope that bucket is not the weekly garbage bucket!
😆
No worries. It’s only used for this
Al does seem crabby, a NO NONSENSE MAN ! WE ALL know under his strong work ethics he has a big heart !
He has an extremely strong work ethic. Not sure I’ve ever met anyone who works as hard.
Nice sharing my new friend watching here from Philippines.
awesome job
I just found a huge one iN LA. Thanks for the info
You have very strong hands I wanna make love to you ma'am
Great video thank you!!
How do they taste? What’s the best beer to pair them with?
Right on! I'm digging the editing style! Please post some more recipes yall.
I`m sure this guy has pulled a many of Traps. But he should have Gauge the Claw before he took it and when he did gauge that Claw it looked like it Fell on the Short side. Makes you wonder how many Short Claws get taken. just so you know it I am a Freshwater, Saltwater Fisherman.
You can gauge it by eye and did it for the camera
Chuck Smith you fish for fun he fishes for a living, I'm sure he knows what he is doing
A great ride along experience, great video.
So cool and the clams look sooo good! Thank you sharing your expertise! :)
You have the same intro music as Troglys guitar show
Seems like a lot of fuel, time and bait for a few little claws.
40-70 dollars a pound
Oh nice that's not bad then.
The Dude filming and asking questions is annoying smh I'd push him overboard

@@FishmongerApproved As a recreational dungeness crabber in WA who will be moving to FL this year, I appreciate all the questions and inside information that was shared. Great video, thank you! 🦀🦀🦀
💯👍"let's eat"🍺🍺😎🇺🇸
Are you looking for an internal temp on fish to know it’s ready on the smoker? And temp to keep smoker at? Thanks I can’t wait to try!
I thought you were only allowed 1 claw? How is that crab going to eat and defend predators with no claws. I’m out bashing you just asking a question.
Crabs find other ways to defend themselves while claws grow back. They hide behind rock and find plenty of food to scavenge on. It’s debatable for sure. But legal
How long to cook them for
should only take one claw now hes defenseless with both claws gone keeper size or not its a shame
Darla the FWC which is a highly regulated agency for Florida wildlife permits both claws, they go into scavenger mode and hunker down eating algae and easy access food until claws grow back (which they do).
What Jeff said 👆🏼
Gr😖😖s yr eating the digestive tracks..
In NE we eat just the stomach alone lol. Sandy and crunchy!
🤮🤮🤮 yes those are not cleaned properly
Thanks for this video. I am going to Tampa on a fishing trip this month. I was hoping to catch and cook a few stone crab while there. I learned a lot thank you.
