what the hell happend
The sound and light guys didn’t do their job.
The trumpet section missed the intro after the piano and sax solo
@@markhardwick4558 The stage lights weren’t turned on for this band, so the players couldn’t see like they should have been able to. This video doesn’t really show how dark it was at the back of the stage. On top of that, the ac didn’t work, and there were no paper towels in the rest rooms. I spent the day apologizing to all of the bands that played that day about our problems with that auditorium.
Beautiful to hear Jake's voice again - Loved going to his home in Denton for lessons - not just on Trumpet - but lessons in Life!! - Miss you Jake!!
We’re not worthy!
Holy cow!!!
That sounds like the Doc Severinson I knew!!!🤓😊
Big MF fan. What seems odd is his daughter referring to his parents and brother instead of my grandma/grandpa/uncle. Just sayin.
Wow:great player!
Beautiful! what a Treasure Don Jacoby was. Most respectfully..Vaughn 🎺
二人ともヤマハ愛用者。それぞれのオリジナルモデルのマウスピースを使っている日本人も多いと思います。
after intro band slowed down ever so slightly
Little Darling style
Fabulous!
Many thanks, Bill. My high school (Thomas Jefferson, Dallas) participated in this festival. At one time I had a copy of the LP and remember being struck with this particular performance--especially Lon Price and also the trumpet section. Nice job. Mike
Frightening! Vaughn 🎺
Contestant number one is a housewife who loves card games and hopes to someday write a book. From Lawrence, Kansas, meet Cathy Krenshaw…
Bobby speaks jazz through the trumpet and is the best “speaker” I have ever met - in the truest sense of the word.
Just wonderful. I love the videos and recordings. Thank you for posting. Keep them coming please.
i have a couple of Bobby Shews but i'm never gunno get em to do that......
Great job trombones!
Nice big band sound tho I really admired the gene Krupa sound better with the dynamic gene Krupa doing his special drumming
Jimmy Clark on bass trombone!
Jimmy Clark on bass trombone!
Love it. I was Richard (Dick) Kent's sax tech for the last few years until his passing last year. Great player and friend.
I was playing lead alto in that band 1971, and I think Joe Rodrigues was playing lead trumpet?
TMEA 2001. We got there early so we could sit on the front row. This was like seeing the Beatles for us. Can’t believe I’m seeing this again. Thanks for the upload!
Is the rest of this available? So rare to hear live tracks of Fontana and Rosolino together. I guarentee it would be greatly appreciated by the jazz trombone community
Nice Sax Section Sound/Work.
Such a groovy tune! So fun to play!
I believe the singer is Fred Travalena. If so, I think we did this gig in Cleveland, Ohio.
The personnel are listed on the album jacket in English, which you can see at the very beginning of the video.
Totally the guys prowess on the rhythm and speed of his moves and the sounds he could get from his drums was incredible He was a rhythmic genius with perpetual sounds. This guy was god gifted and he banged the crap out of those drums.
First time I heard this there was a jazz disc jockey in Seattle Washington that played this and I fell in love with this arrangement
....I saw this guy play 18 times between 73 and 78.... So I may have seen a version of this... Wow
😳🔥
Such a great chart. The drummer & band got turned around for a while during the trombone soli but it came back together.
you must be a band director 📯😄📯 sounded great to me....
the oboe solo was so pretty oh myyyynyny
My uncle was Jim Ecker. I was too young to ever see him perform. I have a cassette tape from him that featured him playing with Harvey Anderson, Ralph Pitman and J Hawkins at the 90th Floor club in Dallas.
Amazing!
Amazing trumpet solo, by Don in a great band!
Thanks for sharing a classic.
Gemma, Burschen!
My old homies are looking and sounding great!
This is Great!!!❤
Its just so good! Just my ear kinda hurt bc of tune, I suppose because it is old or something and its kinda low, but appart of that, its buddy rich, so, basicly the goat
Beautiful..Vaughn 🎺
I'm wordless!
Some band and Buddy I mean this doesn’t exist today Nobody plays this There’s no drummer who coukd drive this stuff like Buddy then and now
Lovely trumpet playing.
Phenomenal! So tight!
