I lived in Westport and Norwalk and Weston between 80' to 88' ... Worked at Klein's from 82' to 87'. Best years of my life. Knew and interacted with many of the people who were the movers and shakers in Westport. Life was different back then, you could connect with people...now...not so much.

I loved it back in the 70's, 80's and most of the 90's! Now it really has lost everything this video shows. It was a quaint and charming then! They have torn down, so many beautiful old homes to build terribly made McMansions. At least the 4 home my grandfather built back in the 40's and 50's are still standing.

Sarnoff always insisted RCA "invented" television first...

complete boondoggle. central park still is,and will always be top park in nyc. the notion of striving for utopia through technology,without humanity and eco-systems taking precedence will always be a dissaster. then again,what can you expect from robert moses,someone who wanted to build a gas gussling highway,through everyone's backyard.

one thing i can say about this little documentary is there showing the bitter and the sweet(strife,civil rights march,war.pomp glitz,etc.)

This was a part of a celebration for the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage in Columbus OH. There was a path full of people of history - including Uncle Sam as the tour guide.

There letting it deteroiate so they can then develop it. The fix is in, and we the public lose, like we always do. But the same crooks don't ever have to worry, they got themselves a lifetime job.

i hear there are still plans to renovate, but not yet. i visited last week, and it is still decaying, which to me, is kind of beautiful in a way.

looks nice on the website for park... a group has been fighting/pleading with NYC for funds to preserve the park. In the disgusting period of the 1970's the park was a wreck, like much of the city. Liberals like Moyers can be blamed for the decay there and elsewhere in the US...Fortunately, NYC is being restored...

Not quite. I was there in January '08 and the Unisphere is really the only thing standing. The theatre and towers are in disrepair.
