It baffles me how Paris didn't blow up big, this is a great album. And the follow up album (which featured a different line-up apart from Welch) was awesome too. Made me wish Welch had continued doing this kinda heavy rock; maybe if these albums had found an audience then he would have.

Even though he was struggling mightily at the time, Danny's vocals continue to be a revelation. He was withdrawn, isolated, and eventually shunned by his band members in FM, but it forced Danny to seek out other roads. Danny's solo albums allowed us to experience a different Kirwan. His vocal and melodic gifts never waned. Mick stated he had perfect pitch. Did he ever!

Three years after "Midnight In San Juan" Dr. Hook came out with "Your In Love With A Beautiful Woman." Sections of Danny's rendtion here sounds eerily similar to that hit song.

What a beautiful song! I remember this after hearing the first minute. Such a great song that I'm thinking was released after Dare To fall. He later had a STUNNING contemporary Christian album full of expertly crafted songs, the best rocker being Perfect Harmony, and a great soulful pair of #1s, One and A Little More Like Jesus. I love that he's progressive. Him and Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay are very Christlike and affirming good souls.
