Hello, Thanks for checking out my channel.
I upload videos of trains around Victoria, If it's exciting, runs on two rails and isn't to far from me I try my best to film it. Looking at trains is a rather new hobby of mine but I am getting more experienced one train at a time.
I mainly spot trains around the western standard gauge track that links Melbourne to Dooen, Dimboola, Adelaide, Port Agusta and Perth. This part of the line is 1435 mm. Because I'm live down south in this beautiful continent where you can get 4 seasons in 1 day there is also lots of broad gauge action, in Australia broad gauge is 1600 mm. When there is broad and standard gauge in a network you will also often get dual gauge.
Usually in my videos you will see NR, XR, T, N, G, X, SCT, CSR, CF, AN, CM, 1100, EL, CLF, BL, GM and a few other classes of locomotives. T class are my favorite (especially when they are in a VR livery)

In this video 3 trains can be seen at Laverton. The first train (6PM7) can be seen entering the crossing loop and is then passed by the second train (6MA8) and then the third train can be seen passing by at speed (5AM5). Fascinating! Ive never seen the Laverton yards before. That loco looks brand new AND it's huge!! :O
The Metro Tunnel is on track to open by 2025 and will serve the Sunbury, Cranbourne and Pakenham. Also the Metro Tunnel will have direct airport connection via the Melbourne Airport Rail Link by 2029. The Suburban Rail Loop which is a 90 km rail line from Cheltenham to Werribee via Melbourne Airport is still 3 decades away but half of it from Cheltenham to Melbourne Airport will be underground with SRL driverless trains.
Great stuff! At the beginning of this video I think I see the northern end of SCT siding connected up _ is that right? If so, I'd love to see some details of the full SCT Laverton set-up. Regards.

Zurizon is looking for contracts as they have been losing contracts in QLD and W.A. They picked up the CBH contract in W.A., but that one is a tightly controlled by CBH who are not afraid to buy more Locomotives and Grain wagons. They have seven standard gauge MK II SCT type EMD GT46ACE on order to add to their fleet. These MP/PM 1 trains are a Toll Contract which seems to have some background animosity there. Aurizon seems to be bidding low to get contracts as PN weren't interested in a bidding war over this contract which they had for twenty years. SCT could possibly have had competition issues as they have the a full door to door operation going on in competition to Toll

EMD's working hard, one of the best sounds.
If you come to Perth you will see these trains with double stacking containers going through the Eastern suburbs. I don't think you can see that in any other city in Australia. Not the metro area anyway

pretty good but looks like an earthwake - what camera you using?
I'm using a galaxy A72 which in UHD 30 (4K 30) doesn't appear to have ois. This makes it look like an earthquake in the wind, especially zoomed in. When this was filmed there was a very strong crosswind.

These trains are everywhere now
They are getting 65 of those new HCMT trains by 2025 when the Metro Tunnel opens. Then, another 5 HCMT trains will be added to the Melbourne Airport Rail Link by 2029 bringing the fleet to 70.

After visiting Southern Cross Station in 2015 I have wondered whether freight goes through there, now I know. 3:07 the track gauges are 1435 and 1600mm not the wagon widths, likely to have the same deck widths for a 20' or 40' container. Anthony
Cool. There is no SG freight through there just the cement train, rock train, maryvale paper and qube steel.
Great video, there is little difference between the first series of Rice Burners currently in service than the new series in the snappy colour scheme. As with the first series there has been a few little glitches to be ironed out with the latest SDA1's. If you are interested there is a ground walk video of the new series at the SCT terminal at Goobang Junction West NSW on my page. The proof of the pudding is will they be still around in 40 years time like the 81, G & BL class EMD units?
Yeah there are some small differences. I have already seen that video
@@australianrailwayproductio3277 Most of the differences are in the diagnostics and computer system, hopefully an improvement on the previous units. Some engine room visual differences are also evident with some layout changes. Have an engine room walk to be posted when I get time.
