We really miss our Westi, We spent our honeymoon on the Kettle Valley in this fine accommodation. Lots of KM's around BC in some very interesting places. Sadly, 'tempus edax rerum', time devourer of all things.
The model is a good kit. I have a nostalgia bias of course. It was an easy assembly but a difficult kit to paint. The logistics of the assembly made painting a planning nightmare. I painted the trim around the cupboards as the decals for this I found impossible to apply. That could just be my shaky hands. Fit was good, but lacked in a lot of detail. The decals did not have British Columbia plates so I made my own.
I give the kit 4 out of 5.

I built this kit as a companion to my Revell 1/72 Flower class Corvette. Revell rates this as level 5 difficulty. It does live up to that rating with the included photo etch. I have shaky hands and poor vision so it was a real challenge. I first saw this plane hanging from the ceiling of a pub in Tofino BC. It looked beautiful hanging there. It is called, "Museum Quality", I'm not sure of that but it is a nice looking kit. I have now completed the line up of Panzer I to Panzer 6 B (King Tiger). The Gecko Panzer II is a good looking tank when done. Mostly built from the box I only added 'Aber' Guns designed for this kit. As for the build, it was easy enough, but the instructions are difficult to follow at times. My first 'Das Werk' kit. The panzer III has to be my favourite panzer. This kit was a pleasure to build. Though it has no interior detail the exterior is quite good. I picked a version from the Stalingrad Battle. This build has no detail parts, unless you count the bricks. I give this kit a 5 of 5 just for joy of the build. I have the 'Das Werk' Hanomag on the shelf. My next build.

Trumpeters 1/16 Panther is a seriously nice kit. It has a few mistakes that superior modellers will point out. My opinion is that it was good enough as a challenge and a fine display piece. Thanks. I was trying to build from Panzer 1 to 6b picking a front for each tank. France was all that was left. Italy will have to be a half track 251. Das Werk version.

This is awesome! I also like the fact that you didn´t just make it a boring oval, but added switches and smaller routes in-between. Its something alot of coffee-table layouts lack.
Very nice. The first time I saw a Z scale layout it was in the two end tables of a retired pharmacy owner who never married. Those two layouts were about 2 feet square with glass tops. Those were the smallest gauge layouts he had. He also had N, HO, S, and O, inside, all in separate rooms. Outside he had a nice G scale and the ride on that had a track gauge of 7 inches. The two outside layouts went all around his house and covered most of his almost 3 acre lot. All of the 7 inch rolling stock he built from scratch including the live steam engines. He had 3 live Steam Engines, an 0-6-0 switcher, a 4-6-2 Passenger Engine and a 2-10-4 Freight Engine. All were models of Texas and Pacific Railway engines, the railroad I went to work on in the early 70s. They were all oil burners and he ran them on used motor oil for their fuel. We fired up the big Freight engine with 10 cars and a caboose and we got to ride around his layout. It was a very fun day.
I envy him so much! For his layouts, of course, but mostly for not marrying!

My dad runs g scale. Went to a show with him this weekend and decided I really wanna get into the hobby. Z is way more appealing to me. I stayed up late last night sketching out a rough layout for a coffee table build. Today, this shows up on my feed.

Innenraumfarbe war Elfenbein. Vom Anfang bis zum Ende. Nur wurde die Menge an verwendeter Farbe zum Ende hin immer weniger, dafür blieben viele Teile in ihrer Rostschutzgrundierung.
The interior turret is ivory. Only the lower hull interior was painted black to hide the fact the kit has absolutely no detail there.
Love the U Boat. We did the George Washington sub...really old model. Liked and subscribed.
Lili Marlene was a nice touch. Excellent job on the Africa Korp workhorses. 👍💯
Being a modeler myself, I am not a fan of these large scale kits with complete interior details etc. That said, I appreciate this lovely work. Well done !
Du très beau modélisme ! Je n'ai pas encore essayé cette échelle, mais est ce bien nécessaire ? Le 1/35 permet déjà tellement de choses. Quel est l’intérêt (selon vous) d'une telle échelle sur de la maquette plastique ? Pour du RC je dirais oui mais là, je m’interroge.
I started with RC then decided to stay with the scale so I could do Panzer I to VI. Much more detail can be added and it is easier to scratch build larger parts. Just my opinion. They do take up a lot of shelf space. My Pz VI takes half a shelf in my cabinet. It has a really detailed interior though which makes it worth it. Cheers

Back in 1979? Star Wars was big, there was a town with extra hockey rink guys would do like giant railroad scale dioramas taking photos as realistic as ever. The skill of the guys and couple of wives in creating miniature trees and towns even livestock on top of you geniuses and vehicles and soldiers. They had scaffolds and rules with measuring tapes to ‘play war’ even fishing line for aircraft. It was truly surreal. Never seen the like since. Even Lego. The work on ‘danaged knocked out’ destruction, ruins was astonishing. The hours days weeks out in like Claymation just to create a photo history of unscripted? Battle was unforgettable. By the time I returned from university they were gone sadly. I should become a fan. Anyone do that anywhere in the world? I would love to flip through the photo history if such again. Too much to try Ckaumation video. Explosions, fire, smoke(they used cotton? And materials I don’t know name if for optical illusions’ Like when we saw a whale after years of failed whale watching tours.

Very nice! I am looking for 1/16 kits to go with my RC tank collection (that sits on display way more than runs) to give that sense of scale and development. Love the desert camo over the gray, awesome!

I found this a seriously difficult model. Poor fitting parts, too much clean up, and the front motorcycle part fitting to the hull was impossible. After much mental debate I decided to trash this kit and write it off as a bad idea. A lot of newbie model companies on the market that are just not up to the mark.
I agree, so much clean up and little detail. I'm too cheap to abandon the kit. It looks good covered in mud though.
