@TheCzarofussr .... That's a long time ago. It was probably a combination of all three, embochure, sax, and mouthpiece.

@TheCzarofussr ...It was a Jody Jazz mouthpiece, probably a 4 or 5. That mouthpiece was sold a couple of years ago.

How do you get that awesome tone at like 0:45 where it sounds rustic? Is it embochure, or the sax and mouthpiece, please please help!

@TheIzzysteve ... They are great horns. The mouthpiece shown on this video is not a contemporary Meyer mouthpiece, but is instead a NEW YORK Meyer (a vintage mouthpiece). You can occasionally find them for sale on Ebay. Thanks for listening.

@mikaylasax Sweet. I have a '58 mark VI and I also use a Meyer, but it's a 6M.

What model Selmer is that?

What mouthpiece were you playing on, im going to get a Berg Larsen 90/1 alto, im just curious though as to what you played?

@julesquotes Adam is truly an amazing saxaphonist and it was an honor to study with him.

I honestly think there is nothing that special about this mouth peice, it's not overly bright or warm or even anything.

I love the build at measure 62 it gives me goose bumps!!!!

Sloppy played on the drums, but its hard i know.

@dandaman62 Mikayla plays alto and soprano sax, as well as clarinet and flute. Briana plays all four principal saxes (alto, tenor, soprano, and baritone). Briana also plays clarinet, bass clarinet, french horn, trumpet, and on and on. Unfortunately, both Mikayla and Briana have quit playing music for now. I hope that one day they will resume, but they have no plans currently.

cool, it´s really good to listen and watch big band like this big band, helps us to encourage e keep studies in music... And it's good too to play with other people, now in November I'll be playing in a presentation in the orchestra where I have praticed :)

@juliosax93 No problem! Lots of people think my soprano looks like an alto because it is curved. Most sopranos are straight so it is easy to make that mistake. Best wishes!

@mikaylasax I'm sorry, but, I made a mistake, when I said each time better, was about the videos, where you are 13, 14, 15, it's each time better, and about your sound, I was talking about the alto sax, in a video that you're playing a soprano, this was my mistake, sorry...
