    The stitches aren't "twisted". They are just "Eastern mounted", where the "leading leg" of the stitch is at the back of the needle, as a result of the Eastern purl. In a "Western mounted" stitch, the leading leg is at the front of the needle.

      Hi Kenna, thanks for your question! You should use both the tail AND the working yarn (from your ball) when doing the long tail cast on. I like the descriptions on how to do the increases and the decreases. Somehow I wound up with the increase border looking different then the decrease. Is there a way to make the decrease border look smaller or not have a border at all?

    • @DontBeSuchaSquare
      @DontBeSuchaSquare Před 2 lety

      Hi AlyssaChey, I'm happy to hear you liked the descriptions, thank you so much :) The increase and decrease borders don't look entirely the same, but I guess it shows more with some yarns. The chunky merino used in the video is rather forgiving. I haven't tried this yet, but if you like the decrease border narrower maybe you could move the decrease and make it after the yarn over? In that case you wold knit like this: Slip 1 knit wise, knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together through the back loop, knit to end of row. As I said, I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but it would remove the bulk of the decrease from the border. Happy Knitting :) /Erika
