Ka'ena Point Trail Hike
Ka'ena Point State Park is a hidden gem accessible from both the North Shore and the west side of Oahu. Our journey began at the picturesque Keawaula Beach area, where we hiked along the mesmerizing west side.
At the end of the west coast highway lies Yokohama Bay, also known as Keawaula, a pristine white sand beach that serves as the starting point for the Ka'ena Point Trail. As we set foot on this trail, we were immediately captivated by the enchanting surroundings. The trail leads us through a dry, isolated, and rugged coastline, showcasing the raw beauty of nature that is truly unique to this part of the island. The Sun pounds down on you during this hike so bring plenty of water.
Ka'ena Point is not just an ordinary park; it is a remote haven of rugged beauty, housing the renowned Ka'ena Point Natural Area Reserve. This fenced-in reserve plays a vital role in preserving the native flora and fauna of Oahu, providing a sanctuary for fascinating creatures such as the Hawaiian monk seal and numerous seabirds like the Laysan albatross. Exploring this park offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the untamed allure of Oahu's coastline. Keep eye an on the ocean as well as we saw several whales breaching.
Ka'ena Point trail is a remarkable but family-friendly short, flat, easy 2.5 mile hike, where untouched landscapes and incredible wildlife await.

I bought an akaso brave 7le. Charged battery camera not turn on even with coard
My only complaint for my 2024 Tracker Classic XL is my freezer is full and I still.have 1/4 tank of fuel that came with the boat.
lol awesome!
No thanks! Bugs are atrocious--and they bite!
That they do
Love that boat, I am glad you're enjoying it. I have a Jhon Boat with 6hp outboard and hope to have a tracker. New subscriber here! 👋
I love my Tracker. But you’re lucky to have a boat. Tight lines!
this dude seriously wearing his life jacket lmfao
That I do
I just brought one today at a used store. I only paid $1
That’s a great buy
Cool!! Great video. Thank you for sharing the unboxing. Just received mine in the mail. Looking forward to using it soon. Have a good one. Keep on campin on
Thanks so much, enjoy.
Really enjoying your work. Began to watch your Newfoundland Trips and then discovered you Dutch Oven collection. Seven hours later was amazed to hear the name of a mutual acquaintance Cyril Goodyear. Amazing what you find on you tube. Enjoying your Clarenville to Gander videos, our riding area.
Thank you for the great comment. I’m glad you are enjoying the content. I love cooking with my Dutch oven.
Hamburger meet mix with, Onions, Green Peppper's, becon And Cheese
Thank you! This was very helpful! I ordered my dad the Bimini top and the latches for Father’s Day! He also has a Bass Tracker xl classic. He’s going to love it!
He going to love it. Mine is three years old now and still perfect. I love it.
👍🏻
I can’t open the door for battery cry😢
That sucks.
Can you send me the location
Anti beading?
Frank , saw Darrel this past Sunday, May 19, 2024, he was working on the Yarmouth trail with a Kubota tractor, spoke with him for a bit, talked of him being on this video, and of his accident, took 8 months to get healed up, Hes looking and feeling good now.
Thanks so much for the update. Darrel is a great guy doing great work.
How are you liking the commander since you had it for awhile?
We absolutely love our Commander. Haven’t had a hitch. More than enough power for our needs.
Just feed them cornmeal
For sure
Dude doesn't even say what is it or anything in video or discrimination!
unhhhh! unh!
will a 72" wide utv fit on these trails
It would be terribly tight in spots. It might be do able. But it would be tricky in sections without a doubt. Passing on coming traffic would be a rough and impossible in spots.
Will be on the WBP boat tour in about 3 months , any tips on making the most of it ? What time of year is the excellent video from .
That was in August. If you want to be able to pick the front of the boat you need to be there more then an hour early (I think we were two) and literally stand at the gate to be the first on the boat. However there is no real bad view point on the boat and you can walk around somewhat.
We have the same airbnb booked in Trout River . Did you go any farther than the "official" tablelands trail ?
No we just did the official trail. We did a few hikes around town as you can see if the video. It gave us a different view.
nice blind
Thanks
Definitely don’t want to watch this video when you’re hungry!😂
Hahahaha that’s for sure!
What is your opinion on the 700 versus 1000? Is there a significant noise difference (better or worse)?
I’m just a touring guy. The 700 has plenty of power and torque. The 1000 was like $4000 more here not worth it. I was coming from a light 850 atv and I was crazy impressed with the power on the 700.
I just got an Akaso Brave 7 LE today, my first action camera. Thanks for the review!
Hope you enjoy it!
Nothing like getting out there on the lake! Great video!
You got that right!
Heading over in July and was wondering what you are using for gps. Great pics just love them .Peter
I use a simple Garmin 64ST. Learn to use Basecamp though. It’s so helpful.
Good video. This topography looks like Maine or New Hampshire. Where was this video made?
Nova Scotia Canada. So our woods are very similar to Maine. Thick.
Ive also got enough time before next season, starts in October and it's February. I would like to plant food plots but my land is all wooded and I don't really know what will grow on mostly shaded ground. Recommendations?
I would use a walk and toss. Like Rack Stacker. The stuff grows anywhere. I have it on some old logging roads.
Im going to build me a 8x8 blind 12' high and im thinking 6x6 fot the post. What do you think
It’ll give you more room than I have. I wouldn’t go any bigger.
Must be in Virginia 😊
Nova Scotia Canada.
You are so blessed. Thank you kindly for the information. We are and should be held accountable for the protection of these humble animals.
You are so welcome
Can we zoom the video
I do it in Post production.
Hey Frank, enjoying all the content. Moved to NL this past summer and just bought a second hand SXS (RZR 800 EPS) and had a couple runs on it so far. Absolutely loving it! Hoping to do some longer trails on the Avalon this summer! Next year might even do the west coast!
I want to travel east from Argentia next year and then back track all the way to Port Aux Basques. Maybe go to Carbonear or Bay Robert’s. I hear they have been working on a trail. Not sure how good it is.
Really enjoyed your video, will use it to help me make my first blind.
I’m sure you will enjoy it as much we enjoy ours.
I finally found a video I really liked. So good to see adults riding like adults without obnoxious music. You earned my subscription and I'm looking forward to many more videos
Awesome thanks so much.
Still hunting is the only way in heavy pressured woods
Great advice...I've been making a bunch of mistakes
Glad it was helpful!
I just saw your video this morning, 1/1/24. I tell ya, I don't know if I have ever seen a man as happy looking as you in that new boat! Gosh, you were smiling throughout the whole time. You and your beautiful wife looked like you were really going to have a great time. This made my day.
And we are still smiling. We absolutely love this boat and enjoy every minute in it.
“Did the deer hear, see or smell you?” Yes. I hunt Blacktails and Roosevelt elk in NW Oregon’s Santiam and Trask units respectively. Your terrain and flora are similar and I enjoyed watching you show your methods. I read that deer eyesight isn’t the best, but their movement detection is; that’s why it’s important to break up your human rhythm and sound more like a browsing doe; I do this by taking one- three carefully planned steps at a time. In NW Oregon, you have to rely on your hearing as much or more than sight and I can’t hear effectively until I stop, so I do watch the ground to place each step carefully between or over branches, sticks or loud salal brush. The more noise I make while moving, the longer I wait between steps to balance it out with silent listening and scanning with binoculars, it typically takes me 30-40 minutes to traverse 200 meters of Oregon woods. Winding around fallen limbs, windfalls, vine maples and salal patches all day will require 8 kms within a space of 2 kms. I carry a trigger stick tripod in my off hand, it helps me to quiet my steps as a third leg for leverage, in addition to steadying my aim, it cannot be beat and is worth the left hand-full. I harvested my Blacktail this year using my trigger stick as a monopod, it helped me place the 85m shot exactly where I aimed for a quick kill through both lungs. Do that with a three-point sling supported stance and still have some movement throw the shot off some. I only have a few areas I’ve hunted over many years, since I’ve hunted it longer than the average buck’s lifespan, I know it better than he does; that’s an advantage over new areas and I can’t get lost.
Good tips.
I am in NB, dont use a ladder stand but just bought one, should be fun to set it up the first time. Merry Christmas over there.
I hope you enjoy it
Looks great! And that looks enough to feed the whole camp. LOL. Surprised at how late in the game rice enters the scene. What kind of rice?
It was quick 5 minute rice. We were hungry. lol.
i have to say your wife help you and was great you got lucky with her.
You got that right!
I like the brave 7le... Nice descent videos captured by the 7le..
1. keep a roll of surveying ribbon to mark where you shoot from and direction, or to mark your path. 2. Glass every time you stop, don't glass toward the sun, the deer may see the sun's reflection. I have been surprised to see a deer 4-5 feet away while glassing. 3. If you find deer tracks across your path, use your nose to smell the air, if it is fresh it will smell like a wet dog. Still hunt down his path. I used these tips and yours when hunting Columbian Blacktails in Northern California on the Oregon border .
Great advise.
I would love to be able to get good enough to be able to still hunt and actually be successful at it. I suck though lol. I have always loved hunting. I had family that used to take me when I was a kid but as life goes those days came to an end so I haven’t hunted since I was about 12. I just got back into it this year. I did my hunter safety course, bought my license and permits, all the basic gear I needed and a cheap pop up spring steel blind. I set out some bait and a trail camera and got a lot of deer on camera. 1 really nice 12 point buck. I set up my blind and brushed it in and sprayed scent killer and a few sprays of fox piss and let the blind sit out for a week or so before I even started hunting it. So far I have hunted 4 full days sitting in that blind from 5 am until 5pm. Nothing. I will keep trying even though I don’t have much faith but maybe one day I will figure it out. For now I’m learning everything I can through CZcams videos
At least you’re doing it. That’s half the battle. I wish you all the best. Keep at it and keep hunting… it’ll come.
Great video- What is your favorite 30/30 round?
Still hunting for 4 or 5 hours is worse than working. The concentration required to be successful is tiresome.
Yes it’s a lot of work and focus. It’s moving meditation. Lol
I now see that I walk too fast and long
Once you think you are walking slow enough…. Walk slower. lol.
