I'd just like to start by saying thankyou for your videos as they have helped me so much, however as i was going through your video i noticed that i am missing some sounds such as the illustra pad that you use in the piano and keys. Could you explain why this might be... or a way to find/add the file?

For me, this beginner's tutorial might as well have been in a foreign language. There seems to be a lot assumed of the "beginner." Maybe a "prerequisites" section would be useful? I know a fair amount of music theory and composition, can compose and notate using Sibelius, and have used Audacity to record some songs with backing tracks. Other than that, I'm a newbie.

Can someone break down to me which programs I should considering saving up for to produce tracks? I assume ableton would be a great start. Should I be looking into a specific version? I would love some guidance in terms of where to start with software.

I’m also on Ableton for many years but I did use Logic in the past. There has always been certain things I missed about Logic when using Ableton but I just can’t get myself to switch back. However - I absolutely love the mixer view in Logic and do think next time I’m mixing and mastering an album I’ll get all the stems into Logic and try and do it there. Or I’ll just stick to Ableton 😅 I’ve always loved that you never had to pay updates for Logic (I bought Logic 12 years ago and I can now use the most recent version) but when I saw they do a subscription model for the iPad app I got kind of pessed 😅

For real though, NEW USER FRIENDLY, like, I know next to nothing about musical theory. He uses all stock sounds and truly wants to educate you with his videos. No click bait title, no half-assed explanation where he flies through the lesson leaving you confused, and isn't doing this to advertise a sample pack you have to buy to follow along in the lesson. This man is here because he genuinely wants us to learn.

HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS TUTORIAL: When he says "Open Ableton 12, and lets get started." He pointed away from the monitor that had Ableton up. I'll unfortunately have to give this tutorial a 10/10 instead of the 11/10 it would have gotten otherwise.

The washer line/metaphor was my favourite , it kinda reminded me of Kate Bush's use of a washing machine metaphor in the brilliant Mrs. Bartolozzi . i love the use of the mundane imagery to express the profound feeling . X
