Mine broke arm at one motor end from gust of wind whacking a tree branch at her. I could've avoided doing my Care deal if Gorilla glue would've held, as-is I kept trying with more of it till motor got glued up inside. Oh well, one Care deal down out of three. I shall look up your suggested epoxy! Lol

The trick was not having common sense and the mechanism was wrecking the drone.

I had to make the most out of the video to cheer myself up a bit :)

It sounds scary when you put it to feet, or is that just for me, a European. Also the fall wasn't exactly a free fall since the other 3 motors kept on spinning. The drone just wasn't able to balance itself so it started swirling around the stuck motor falling out of the sky at a speed of 13m/s. I'm afraid that if that wasn't the case I'd be picking up rubble.

@@tadejpurkart9705 I guess I just don't see the need to go that high for anything. Here in the USA, it's illegal to go above 120m or 400ft.

Yeah it was a dumb idea, I even told the people around me that the rope could get in the motor after we test dropped the egg for the second time, but yeah we all make mistakes and this one for sure will be an expensive one.

look on the bright size as far as "expensive drone mistakes" go, breaking a mini's leg is about the least expensive on that list and that list can get pretty expensive. it probably won't be that much to fix

@@tadejpurkart9705 I woulda suspended it by like thin sticks, or paper rope. something that would either bounce of the blades or get shredded by them

Hi Jackie, if that’s the total repair cost I’ll be happy. I’m still waiting for answers from a local drone builder and I still can’t decide on giving it to him to repair it or to send it to germany to DJI. What do you think? Oh and the leg isn’t the only thing that suffered damage, when I connect it to my controller I get Hardware System Error 30210- also assuming there’s something wrong with the ESC board. Will keep you updated.

​@@tadejpurkart9705 The real cost isn't the components. It is actually the labor cost, which DJI will charge you approximately 2 hrs of labor at 65 USD per hr. It is safer to send it to DJI, but depending on where you live, it could cost a lot of money to send it to Germany. Looking at your CZcams profile I think you live in Slovenia, so shipping costs to Germany should be around 15 Euros. I crashed too, and mine got up to 218 USD. The problem with mine was: -Gimbal -IMU -Barometer Luckily mine was under warranty.

@@tadejpurkart9705 just do it yourself. Strip down, see what you need, order parts, replace, easy.

Only the leg is broken? Try to fix yourself.But first you need to check if there is no other damage. My mini fell and broke the front leg and some small damage,but the rest is fine.I fixed the leg with a nail sculpture gel,that costs around 5 euros. Edit:I just saw the picture and read the description.If you had Dji Care i would just sent it.😟Don’t give up!

I really hope that wasn't the last flight, although thanks for the comment. Will send it to DJI for a repair and hopefully the drone will fly once again.

Yeah, my heart was slowly falling apart as I was watching my phone, seeing the drone spin uncontrollably, and for the damage, the front right arm snapped under the motor, the motor is still intact as it jitters when I turn it on, the plastic just broke and when I connect it in the DJI Fly app I get a Hardware System Error 30210, and I googled that that error has to do something with the ESC board. I could also post the whole 7min flight of the crash if you'd like to watch that. Thanks for the comment.

We did 2 test drops, one from 10m height, the other from 500m and both times the drone came down safely. After the second drop I said to the people around me that it's kinda dangerous because on the video of the 500m drop the ropes look like they could get into the propellers easily but somehow I kept on going and crashed my drone on our 3rd drop from 370

The drone can thankfully still use it's "eyes", he's just paralyzed as one of it's limbs got broken.
