How POWERFUL Is Wolverine REALLY? (Marvel Comics)

A video essay analysing Wolverine in Marvel's 616 comic continuity. I made this in the summer of 2019, and it sat on my PC for one-and-a-half years while I was doing other stuff. I decided to throw it out there as it took a while to research and make at the time. SUBSCRIBE for more videos.

    He's almost right. However decapitation won't kill him. He's come back From one drop of blood. There is no overwhelming his healing factor. There is one way to kill him though, anything that cuts off his Oxygen supply such as drowning.

    His nose is his real superpower. You couldn’t have a convo with the man without him knowing you lying or telling the truth. He may not know the secret but he will know when ppl are deceiving him or not. That’s nerve racking. At least to me.

    The thing about Wolverine that makes him scared, is his berserker rage. He takes it, and keeps coming. He is a loyal friend, and protects his friends viciously. There is also his lake of talking it out. Where Cyclops talks, Wolverine just cuts and moves on. It is his up frontless, and direct nature people like. When wondering why he feels little pain, it is because he is in constant pain. His insane healing factor is hampered by continuously trying to repair his skeleton. Getting torn up probably feels better, because his healing factor concentrates on the open wounds, versus his skeleton. I would love it if in the comics they had him use more of his gained knowledge from being so old. That is my only real beef with the man who shows no fear.

  • @MildarValsik
    @MildarValsik Před 17 dny

    Wolverine is often beaten because he is trying not to kill someone. As well as the other people knowing wolverine can't be killed. If wolverine used his knowledge more often he be way more deadly. It just that his berserker rage kind of trades his intelligence for faster healing abilities.

    Wolverine can whip 2 polar bears at once (If you can take out something that weighs 900 pounds twice over, a fucking blind ninja boy ISN'T going to stop you. At all) Daredevil's strength is BASE human. Martial arts training would make him an athelete, but Logan has that too, and for FAR longer than Matt. He's equal to Captain America = Peak Human at least (Wolverine's actually listed Enhanced Human; so not quite but close to Superhuman - and some of that is his adamantium bones being indestructible Vs. Healing powers allow him to tear muscle/build up the acid that rebuilds muscles MUCH faster and easier than the average human) * Every. Fucking. Martial Artist. In Marvel & DC. Is a "Master" of EVERY. Known. Martial art. Which is why eventually that statement is BULLSHIT for juding how good a fighter someone actually is. : / Completely agree with the low-ball durability rank; I'd put him the same as you - but I'd not put him maxed because of the Adamantium poisoning. Same way Cable's not Omega because a good portion of his power's being used to stop the techno-virus from murdering him. (I do think they made too many omega mutants, and there are mutants that are ranked that way that shouldn't be) Also: Reality warping is the same BULLSHIT as Franklin Richards' powers - which they made because he was the Dues Ex if they wrote themselves into a corner with Fantastic Four (which they did several times) he was the START of writers giving themselves an easy out when they didn't know what the hell to give a superhero or villain to make them credibly powerful. It's literally fuck it; I can do whatever I want, because Reasons...

    I don't think he's a 7 in fighting skills as an individual combatant. He's an absolute 7 when he fights in a group. His knowledge of how to effectively use everyone else's abilities make him crazy adaptable. Where he falls down in the individual level is a strange refusal to use any CQC skills even though he's been in the military and special forces. Plus he almost only uses his claws. With a deficit like a lack of ranged powers, why doesn't he carry a ranged weapon of some kind? Isn't a a bladed weapon used as a last resort!?!

    Wolverine is an absurdly weak mutant who only survives due to plot armor. A single non-mutant with a small caliber gun, a bowie knife, and enough money to rent a small fishing boat can neutralize Wolverine and then drop him into the ocean deeps, where Wolverine's adamantium skeleton will keep him lost in the black for 10000 years. He's harder to bring down than most other mutants, but still VERY easy to deal with except for that pesky plot armor.

  • @WarbVIII
    @WarbVIII Před 26 dny

    don't need a video to say he is OP, same with Deadpool. Deadpool might have started OP but Wolverine didn't, his major thing seemed to be his healing factor grew to ridiculous levels. He used to be killable in the early 90's and more so before then. So now with his healing factor he will always get up eventually, removes any possibility of losing and makes him boring same goes for Deadpool (admission hat Leifields stuff and his characters but it does not diminish the point). Only way Old Man Logan works is with him nerfed, not a good look nor does that make a good story. OP characters will always end up with weaker stories than those not OP. If they have to be nerfed for a good story, well then the character has gotten too powerful. Just my point of view.

    I'd say strength 3 and speed 4. Otherwise I'm with you. But I think you glossed over how absurdly _sneaky_ he is. He can move without sound, his super senses allow him to ping every person looking for him and every alarm system from far off, he can climb anywhere, he can mask his presence ninjastyle and he's about as good at all the cloak and dagger spystuff as at fighting. He sneaks up on wild animals and touches them as recreation. Sure it's only situationally useful, but when it is useful, Wolvie is a 6 out of 7.

    I think it’s dumb that he builds up psychic “scar tissue”. Pretty sure that’s not how that works. If his healing factor built scar tissue his skin should be as strong as his adamantium bones by now from all the damage it’s taken, and he should look more like Deadpool.

    Wolverine has always been my favourite mutant. Mainly because i was a very sickly kid, i was always in hospital and sick. I use to say to my parents i wish i was like wolverine and heal from anything. Thats why he resonates with me as an adult. As an adult i have chronic pain from a drink driver hitting me at a red light. So i still resonate with his healing ability even as a 40 year old man. Id love to have a healing factor to end the pain bascially.

      Healing factors only work for damage you gain after it's active. Just look at deadpool, he had cancer before he had a healing factor and they merged so deadpool is a walking pile of cancer with a healing factor. If you're missing a limb before gaining a healingfactor they you'll be still missing that limb

    Well you’ve gotta think too, think of all the detective work he’s done. He knew Zemo was gonna try and mind control Bucky, he found where Bucky lived. Easily able to break into a highly fortified base for the Falcon suit. There’s other factors other than Caps scientific knowledge. He’s also a master at geometry, people don’t know but that’s why the sheild always came back to him the comics. But it was a good cideo

    Let me explain: the Super Soldier Serum gives you the ability to learn quickly. Cap used this when he lifted Mjolnir for the first time, in just a few seconds he knew how to use it perfectly!!! So also when he was trained by Shield in martial arts, 3 months of training for a super soldier would be like 2 whole years, Steve trained for at least 3 years, so it's like 24 years of experience in martial arts. This goes for experience too!!! He returned in 2011 and stayed until 2023, 12 years, but for Him it was like 36 years or much more.
