I remember back in the 80s on 'Children's ITV' there was a competition to win one of 5 Knightmare computer games. What you had to do was design a room for the dungeon. I recall when the competition was first announced I wanted to win one of those games so badly. Was lucky enough to find this game on cassette for my Amstrad CPC. This game does have some elements from the TV series like the theme tune, Treguard, the wall monsters and the floor puzzles (go to the symbol which is the odd one out). I wish the game had the animated 'Life Force' sequence from the TV series instead of the burning candle. One thing I discovered was that even if you ate food, it was not possible to replenish the burning candle.

Tim Follin was one of the best things to happen to these audio chips in the 80s. He was not only a brilliant composer, but he managed a density with such few voice channels that defied logic.

Just how did a Speccy with no sound chip create these sample sounds? Even the C64 was making a glitch in the SID chip to make the sample possible. What sorcery is this?

Ah, the Chronos music is one of the tunes that stuck in my mind from my speccy days. I thought it was from Future Games, which also has some pretty wild beeper music.

I loved this back in the day. The problem I found was that I always lost my bearings when I had to shift "Camera" so that I could see what my character was doing behind a building. Often I would see them just STOP and I'd known they'd hit something but flipping to a different camera would break my mental map of the world and i'd end up no idea where I was or what was happening!

I still remember the full sound, especially on 1:35

Whiie I also enjoy 'modern' games I think that players have the scenery imagined for them in the name of realism,, I though games were about escapism. I still play 80s' sinclair spectrum games.

The graphics and art work still looks amazing.. This is my all time favorite game

I did it years ago with my Dad - I remember drawing a map and everything! No cheat though, the trick is to get the polycrete module ASAP. Also if/when you get a load of red tanks after you, they enter at the same point on the edge of the screen so if you kill one there it stops others flooding in. Recently completed it again on my spectrum next, only cheat that time was saving regular snapshots in case you run out of fuel :-)

In 1986 my older brother bought a spectrum zx800 and man this takes me back this was like magic it was so amazing to hear sounds and see the colours like these back then. If we had been told how computers would advance and how quickly we wouldnt have beleived it todays technology would have been akin to magic.

Only cannon fodder had a better intro.
