As companies get larger it is so much easier to write a memo and walk away. Technology makes it entirely easier to be isolated and email communication all though effective is no an ideal communication method to establish connections. So even if one knows himself and knows the impact of his actions on others, technology can be yet another obstacle to practical implementation of EQ.

I agree about not feeling inspired by most leaders - and the path forward looks and feels unclear. I feel most people feel this. And the stress part - Well said.

I agree about the theories being conflicting and that these do not necesarily bring 'answers'. Its as if everyone touches on something 'valuable' and then falls back on conditioned habits or way of thinking that are functioning in the world 'as is'. In the end NO REAL CHANGE towards positive transformation.

Esme you are so informative and knowledgeable about leadership, I like that you highlighted that most leaders lacked character.
