    Outstanding! Thanks for the video, jolly good banter! Following Morgan's Creations since your appearance on IAWC zoom call, really enjoy the content. We recently visited SDC late May this year and I'm wondering how you all deal with the costumes and the Missouri climate? I cannot remember the name of the carver or his wife, at the woodcarvers shop, but he started carving 59 years ago and showed me his 1st carving...it looked just as he is now, with a long white beard! Looking forward to more content, thanks!

      We deal with the costumes okay, most of the time we are inside except for the fall and then we sit outside. The humidity in the summer is the worst but we make do. Thank you for the comment and hope you enjoyed your visit to SDC.

    • @BradfordGuy
      @BradfordGuy Před 4 měsíci

      One can tighten a collet with pliers without rounding the corners. You just need to use a little care, is all.

    • @urielswing
      @urielswing Před 4 měsíci

      @BradfordGuy and you can use a crescent wrench as a hammer or a screwdriver as a pry bar, but it is neither the optimal choice nor what those tools were designed for. We have all used pliers in a pinch but it's never the correct tool to preserve the nut.

    You are going to get better results if you clamp or secure the wood. Power carvers work by vibrating, so when you press the cutter into unsecured wood, the wood starts vibrating along with it and it either won't work or won't work very well.

    • @MorgansCreations
      @MorgansCreations Před rokem

      I agree with your comment on using clamps. For testing purposes in this video, there was no need to clamp the wood as I wanted to see if the factory edge on the bits were sharp and cut with very little pressure, and as you can see there was no way those would cut anything, clamped or not. Ryobi should make sure the bits are sharp so it truly could be used right out of the box.

    Hi. If you want an idea for for video's. I would like an updated sharpening and stropping vid on the Helvie knives please. I've seen the earlier one for beginners but it was for flat ground blades wearas Helvies are Convex and assume there's a different approach because of the belly shaped blade. Thanks in advance. ALB.

    not a fan of battery style tools . i have been interested in a power carver but tbh this is disappointing that ryobi could not even take the time to sharpen the bits just goes to show the level of care taken to insure a quality tool that people would love . when i carve i carve in alot of small detail so the fact it is so big would hinder my work . have the same issue with my rotary power carver . it gets crazy detail but the grip is way to big . but if this had a flex shaft and a small pen style handle grip it might be ok . but the battery is to small and wont last long . im guessing the inner parts are plastic and will wear out pretty fast . the fact that it does not move till you press on it leaves more room for it to wear out faster it should have a permeant connection . the most impressive part of this whole video was the flex cut bits . ryobi needs to step up there game . great review i enjoyed it . work safe
