Spike from Nova Scotian breakwater
This spike was salvaged from a very old breakwater on a Nova Scotian property that's been in the family for 40 years. As the sun and water have broken it down over the years, I wanted to preserve a part of it before it disappears forever. I decided to create a type of shadow box so I could hang it in my shop.

Custom Desk organizer/drawer system

In need of some organization on the antique architect table that I use as a desk, I created a drawer system (reminiscent of a roll top desk) out of some vintage, steel card sorting drawers picked up from a local, and some salvaged boards from the shed my neighbour had to tear down earlier this year. To finish off the interior, I add some drawers salvaged from an old, Singer sewing machine table...
Hammer Wall Hanging

This is the second wall hanging that I've created to display tools that I love aesthetically. Instead of having them shut away in a drawer, I use them to decorate my shop. it's a pretty simple thing to do. Here's a quick video showing how I went about it.

Leather knife (inspired by Viktor George)

I was watching Viktor George's video ", Discover the Hidden Techniques of Leather Crafting Ep 1" (czcams.com/video/S_zfoBkQhi8/video.htmlsi=rh6fzcXdRdI 0ER) where he explained how when he was starting out he had to make his own tools. He took an old scraper and made it into a knife for cutting leather. I decided I wanted to try it. Here's my go at it.
Pickaroon made out of Sven's axe offcut!

While reshaping the axe head that became Sven's axe, I was left with an offcut that resembled a pickaroon head. I decided to try my hand at making one for when I move my logs to cut firewood. This video shows the process.

I salvaged this axe from a garage in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC years ago when I was beginning my live edge woodworking. It's original handle broke a couple of years ago and was put away and forgotten. I recently came across it and decided it was time that the handle was replaced. This video shows some of the process.

What is the spike used for?
It held some of the beams that created a breakwater on a Nova Scotian shoreline. The breakwater is falling apart now, but was built around 75 years ago. The pictures in the frame at the end show what’s left today.

What is it used for?
It’s used to manipulate large wood pieces in to place. Handy when you’re processing wood for fires, or trying to get a piece in a certain position for cutting.

Ok, I may start doing that in later videos; thanks for the feedback!. It’s a blueing solution that helps prevent the steel from rusting. I followed it up with an oil to help preserve as well later on in the video.
