Swimming With Humpback Whales in Tonga!
When we were in Thailand with Alex and Kailynn, our plan was to continue traveling throughout SE Asia for several months, until I found an opportunity to live in Tonga for the whale swim season in 2018. It's here that I fell in love with the country and the people, but most of all the whales. It didn't take too much convincing, as we were on a plane within a few weeks after Alex and Kailynn flew back home to the States.
It is with a great deal of pain for me to admit that this will be the last Westby Adventures video that I post. Following our trip to Tonga in 2018, Weston and I came back home to Oregon, worked for several months to save up some extra money, and went back to Tonga for the 2019 season. It was during this time that we separated, Weston wanting a more stable home life in the States while I began planning out my path to reach my dream of becoming a whale swim guide. Weston is a person that I admire greatly and have an immense amount of love and respect for, and while this process has been extremely difficult to work through, I think it is a beautiful thing that we have recognized our differences and are enabling each other to chase our dreams without sacrifice.
We have made the most incredible memories together, and these videos are just a short glimpse into the beautiful 10 years we spent together. Weston, you will live in my heart forever, and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
UPDATE: I ended up being offered a job as a whale guide for the 2020 season, but have not been able to fulfill this role due to COVID-19. I plan on posting future videos as an individual, and if you'd like to follow my solo travel adventures, you can follow me on Instagram @abigailcarleen.

Weston and I traveled to Sydney, Australia on our way to Tonga in 2018. We ended up staying in Sydney for a few days, then moving on to our favorite location just outside the city, Bondi Beach. What does a wallaby's stink smell like?

Certainly not the largest private island in Europe, that tile goes to Dulichium Island in Greece with an area of 5,000 square Kms , Lambay Island has a tiny area of only 2.5 square kms

I wonder how theyll evolved in the environment and how they will change over time. Like you wonder if nature sorts itself out with invasive species eventually nature will figure out a way it might take a long time
The thing with wallabies is that they aren't really damaging anything. They mainly eat grass and considering how much it rains in Ireland, the grass grows back fast. There is enough food for the wallabies and the native population of animals.

My da used to say there was kangaroos on Lambay island and I thought he was joking. He probably thought they were small kangaroos.
They are technically. Wallabies are part of the kangaroo family.

hey guys! how did you get from krabi to khao sok? I found a cheaper option online which was to take the minibus by Hat Yai World Tour company for 350 Baht per pax but the reviews for it are so so so bad. Just wondering if you happen to know of any other reasonably priced alternatives. Thanks!

AMAZING! loving this Norway Adventer with the ORCAS. I have been Scua Diving sence the late 70's, now retired Divemaster. I had no luck getting in the water with ORCAS. Closess I got was by boat in the Puget Sound and we were not allowed to get near them. :(. Abby, is so luckey to Snorkel with her spirit animal. And so are we because Weston can't remember to turn on the camer. ;).
