The controls are working perfectly on all the aircraft except the f/a-18 hornet. I can use the throttle and yoke but no other controls work and its only on this plane. I watched the video over just to make sure I did everything the way you said and still it won't work.

hey tuuvas, just picked up the apache but only using a gamepad (xbox controller) do you know if its possible to move the collective faster, the current "B" and "A" buttons make the collective move much too slow for my liking hah would appreciate a reply, love your videos mate!

this is actually insane. I've considered using a controller before, but always just figured running my (budget) HOTAS setup would be better. But im definitely going to be giving this a try. You manage to get so many binds into the controller and they all seem very intuitive and sensible. Awesome vid. Thanks

I don't know if the recent DCS update messed with things, but none of the controls work anymore and it's quite frustrating because I keep returning here to setup the Steam aspect but it's setup just fine... but the controls don't work.

At least say clearly that you are paid. No one is happy about a thank you card in Chinese...except you are Chinese. For deliveries outside of China it should be at least in English. That's why Chinese companies usually install those "small business companies" in countries for Amazon. The stick feathers are said to be weak. What means the sticks will get some quick stick drift. The configuration tool...it's amazing. You can really put nearly everything on the controller. Keyboard keys, mouse keys. amazing. As you seem to play flight games I think you can understand that. (or was that even ArmA...game is a pain in the ass with its controls) The controller has a on the fly switch profiles. But...my tool looks different. I only have 4 profiles to chose from while you seem to have a profile for every game. strange that they changed that? At least for me, you have to go to "Function settings" and activate "Quick switch configuration". Then you can switch through your 4 profiles with Select+ A, B, X or Y. Kind of cool especially for games like ArmA. As you can switch between your driving and flying setting. Having game related profiles would be really cool. But that controller is already much better than everything else on the market. Except maybe the xbox pro controller 2. But that also sometimes comes with faulty sticks. (I got such one and it's way too expensive to get garbage) You are completely wrong with the price. 80 bucks is the same price the core version of the Xbox pro 2 will cost you. When buying the loading station and a travel case for the Vader you are at the same price as with the Xbox 2 pro controller that has all included. So it's not less expensive. It's as expensive as every other high quality controller on the market. Well...high quality is strange to say as all brands have huge problems with sending out faulty products. When looking at more critical tests that also take the controller apart and test it for some time they all complain about the sticks. The feathers are too weak and that's what causes stick drift...hall effect my ass is all I can say to that. Anyways. If it holds until the battery is fucked it holds long enough. Usually that's why Hall Effect sticks are a scam from the get go. Before I had a Logitech F310 Controller. It held for 19 years. All I had to do to fight stick drift was cleaning the contacts from the sticks. Opening it up, getting all the dirt out. Dust, hairs and stuff. And then it worked. After over 19 years cleaning didn't really worked anymore. So when you ask me, the entire Stick Drift nonsense is exaggerated to advertise Hall Effect sticks. Now tell me. Will any controller with inbuild batteries hold for that time? If it holds for 5 years I count myself lucky.

I install the extended features in the settings but it does not register the screenshot button as a button. I am unable to map anything to it because i only see the start/select buttons in the menu buttons section. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling extended features and restarting pc but no luck. i'd really like to get that extra button to map but anyone run into this issue where it doesnt pick up the share button? Screenshot button works fine because if i click it, it still is saving screenshots it looks like but i dont even want it to do that! lol Edit: Only thing i think i'm having a major problem with is throttle control. In your vid it looks like throttling up and down it moves at a steady/decent rate but my throttle is either full blast forward or dead stop. He jams the throttle forward/back at 1000 mph. Even if i try to click and let off super fast to get it to barely jump, it's like insanely fast all the way forward or back. Any tips for this? i googled and see people saying you can edit the response time for throttle in a .lua file but i also don't know how to do that exactly. There's no way to adjust throttle or button response time in the DCS control options is there? Thanks!

I used some very lightweight silicone lubricant on the rails in the t16000m throttle and it fixed the sticking.

Can you do this with a ps4 controller? Or does it have to be an xbox controller?

The cheapest VKB stick is just better pure value that the rest. You get a working rudder and throttles, etc. etc. the rest just don't have, or don't have working properly. Also dualshock is better than xbox controller. Kinda starting to think you don't really know what your talking about m8

u can untighten the throttle when u push it to the top and then u see a screw that u untighten abit so its smoother

T.16k has a 3d printed upgrade for the throttle that makes it lightyears better. However, this increases the price to over 200$ for the set. That being said, your analysis is spot. The logitech joystick would be a great purchase for someone wanting to get into MSFS/DCS/IL-2 and not breaking the bank.

I am SUPER excited for this. Been trying to get a few friends into DCS and they are worried about the initial cost to be able to play and enjoy it. I have one setup to just use a PS5 controller, but the others think that would be too limiting for them. This comparison will be great to figure out which budget HOTAS setups are actually WORTH looking at.

Really interesting budget comparison. The HOTAS X indeed has larger built in dead zones than the newer HOTAS 4 and HOTAS One (which are both are a bit more expensive). I gather the 3D Pro + TWCS might be a better HOTAS combo than the all Thrustmaster T.16000M + TWCS, would you agree? I’m really curious if you are going to follow this up with the T.16000M FCS’s direct competitor; the Logitech X52 and X52 Pro. They are generally no longer recommended vs the the T.16000M HOTAS or VKB Gladiator, but they are very much in the same boat as the Thrustmaster mid-range HOTAS in terms of price vs features. The X52 variants have lighter centering springs than the T.16000M stick, which may help with hovering, forward flight and refueling. Plus an arcing throttle with little to no stiction. Note that the X52 and X52 Pro are not the same in this area. The X52 Pro uses 2 collineair centering springs vs the one on the X52, making it slightly smoother when pushing the axis off center (a less noticeable center bump). It also has magnetic X- and Y-axis sensors with a higher resolution compared to the X52.

my first hotas was/is the tflight hotas x and ive had it for 3 to four years and i do agree, it sucks. although im too broke to buy a better one so i just deal with it but ive gotten good at it even though its hard to do precision things. also yes i can do aerial refueling with it:)

I've been using a Logitech G Extreme for flight and an XBox controller for slewing my Mavericks cam with my left hand in the F-4E.

for the T16000M, I know most players use the butterfly switch behind the Throttle instead of twisting the joystick. You should give it a try flying helicopters using that input!

i've been using xbox elite controller since the first tutorial from tuuvas about dcs on controller, i can't even go back to my t.flight hotas 4 anymore now hte controller i just that versatile

I would be interested in 3D pro button layouts for the more popular modules. Seeing how you setup the modifiers would give me a good starting point.

I've started with my trusty 3D Pro and I loved it way more than the T16000M I bought later since I hate using modifiers. I feel like the overall quality of the build and materials is way better with this stick. To remove stiction in TWCS throttle, you could untighten the screw at the bottom of the throttle. Some people also recommend to apply some nyogel or even use a mod for a throttle, but those are unavailable in my country so I was unable to try it. Those pedals are also awesome for the rudder, but I've heard they tend to break over time. Not happened to my throttle though. Regarding the headtracking, there are some options like SmoothTrack or AITrack.

deactivate the Twist-axis on the 16000. I have that Stick and it has a questionable Performance. I only have the Gazelle as chopper ... after the FM-Change it was a nightmare....i got better with the Xbox-Controller. is it possible to get a video with more detailed usage of the BigBig Won Addon?

#controller gang A-10CII, F-16C block 52. Love doing everything with just my controller, all thanks to Tuuvas! I would have never gotten into DCS if it where not for Tuuvas so once again I thank him for everything he does for us new players.

I recently went to Flight Sim Expo and I was blown away by just how much things can cost - especially for the commercial and general aviation flight sim market! It was nuts! That is what inspired me to finally make this video. Please let me know how you felt about my take on what is "entry-level" for flight sims, and thanks for watching!
