Returning from the Wild with David Whyte!
“I recently left the sun-soaked foothills of Mount Kenya, having hosted our second annual Return to the Wild with David Whyte retreat. The five days spent with our guests, the world’s best bodyworkers, and David himself, basking in the innate feeling of deep gratitude and wholeness one only really feels in the wild, were transcendent.
For those of you wondering ‘how’ and ‘why’ this unique experiential fusion of safari, philosophy, poetry and wellbeing in one of Africa’s most beautiful wild spaces came to be, I thought I might explain.
I have spent a lifetime trying to explain what happens on safari - the human experience. David realized soon into his career as a zoologist that science was not enough to explain the magnitude of the experience of being in nature. Poetry became a large part of that answer. Putting his words to the safari experience must surely be the elixir I have always been looking for. Not only to explain the wholeness and connection one feels, but also to help address the urgency of what we as humans stand to lose if we don’t save these last remaining wild spaces. Ultimately, to save what’s left, we must understand that nature is our greatest source of joy.”

Where is Niagara falls
South Africa does not have any true african rock pythons. These are a closely related species called the Southern African python. For some reason people like to call them african rock pythons, but they are an entirely different species of python. For the record, Southern african pythons are the 2nd largest in africa. I wish people would start calling them by the correct name. At LEAST half the videos i watch about "african rock pythons" are the wrong species. It just causes unnecesary confusion to call them the wrong name. Its so bad that MOST tour guides use the wrong name these days.
Nothing wrong with the name. Common name is for what people commonly call the snake. If you want to be scientifically correct, use the scientific name.

I wish people would leave them alone and let them live in peace in their own habitat!🌹🙏🏽
I do too, but at least this way, the money being generated by tourism is a big enough incentive not to destroy their habitat for, you guessed it, money. It also keeps the poachers away. Their numbers have grown from 600 to more than 1,000.
I could not do this, they are so fuzzy I would want to hug them.
