Thanks! This was a few years back, and if I remember correctly filmed with the original Mavic Air as test of what the little drone could do. The area definitely comes alive more at golden hour.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. If 20 minutes of a drone flying--much of which you are very unlikely to hear once it has reached its operating distance--ruins your hike or view for the day then that is a very unfortunate plight to suffer from. Personally, seeing footage like this from other flights is well worth the relatively minor annoyance of hearing a bit of buzzing on take off and landing. I enjoying hiking and nature, but also appreciate technology and the advances that allow us to get perspectives on well known areas that we would be unlikely to ever see otherwise.

How was your experience?

Swamp Rabbit is OK is limited distances. It's often way too crowded to have fun, and the roots that buckle up the pavement in some parts can be surprise hazzards on the OneWheel. A bike manages it fine, but it can really throw you off balance with one fat tire. I've never been hassled about the OW or any e-skate downtown. I'm not sure what the actual laws/rules are, but as long as you aren't going crazy fast or riding erratically I don't see why it should be a problem. Conestee Park used to be a great place to ride, but now they don't allow any vehicle (even bikes) to go on the dirt trail areas.

I'll be moving there in a month and visiting this weekend, do you know if there's greenville group.

Agreed. Not far away at all. I was recently editing a panoramic photo of downtown Greenville SC, and you can actually see Table Rock on the horizon from the city on a clear day. Definitely worth making the trip out!

Definitely a lot of fun. Just take it easy to start with. It's easy to get overconfident in the beginning, and end up with a snapped wrist or clavicle. Best piece of gear to have--other than a helmet of course--is wrist guards. They'll save you more than once as you learn.

@@SufferInSirens No problems so far. I ride in the area often, and see other eboards out and about as well. As far as I know, Greenville does not have any laws against these forms of transportation. We are fortunate in that respect, as there are other cities out there that have taken a much more combative stance on the growing market for vehicles like these. I'm glad Greenville is opting on the side of progress here, as it's only going to grow bigger as prices drop and battery capacity increases.

Thanks! I'd advise that you do a few tests before trusting the Mavic to follow through any kind of major foliage. The following function isn't bad at all in open areas, but in my experience it will have a tough time navigating trees and keeping you in frame. Any drone shots in this video were flown manually.

Thanks! I was very tempted to go with the XR, but stuck with the Plus for this season. Just added some Flight Fins, and thinking about moving over to the new Burris treaded tire. Still ride my Plus nearly every day, and I'm eager to see what Future Motion comes up with for a new version next year.

Dread Xeppelin Aerial made a group on Facebook called "GVL ESK8" find us. Should have enough members to go on our first group ride soon!

I wouldn't go as far as to say comfortable, but it's stable and good for light off-road stuff. I also ride a OneWheel and find it to be much better when it comes to sustained off-road riding.

I had a look at that, too - but since I trained my dog do sit in the middle of the deck he would have a hard time trying to do so on a OneWheel 😄

What if you're on one of the nice and smooth, well maintained dirt tracks? Is it enjoyable then, or just surviving through them until you're back on asphalt? My Onewheel just died on me, and FM is horrible for international customers, so I'm looking for an AT longboard instead. And my main concern is if I'm still able to enjoy the dirt trails in big parks. They were the best thing to do with the OW. :)

You're likely to fall while learning, but take it slow and don't push beyond the limits and you'll be fine. I've tried out numerous e-skate type devices and settled on the OneWheel as the most versatile and fun choice. Definitely wear hand/wrist guards and a helmet and you'll be protected from the vast majority of beginner fumbles.

Dread Xeppelin Aerial yeah this seems the most fun because you can go pretty much anywhere with it. I have a cool dirt road behind my house so I’ve been wanting to take it out back and just be able to ride on the grass might be better if I fall lol thank you..!! Now I just wish they weren’t so expensive!

Definitely the most fun. One thing that is often overlooked is how quiet they are. I have an Evolve Bamboo GTX board as well and the motors are really loud. The OW is virtually silent when moving about in crowded areas. Price is a bit much, but there is a pretty large used market for the OneWheel + now that the XR is out. Worth looking into.
