Very interesting video as Kent is definitely not the first English county I'm thinking of when it comes to football, contrary to counties such as Yorkshire, Lancashire or the West Midlands. Especially if you're from abroad like me and if you're not that much into non-league clubs. But at least I've eventually heard of all clubs in the National League as there are some former long-term EFL members such as Oldham, Hartlepool, Southend or Rochdale (wasn't League Two even nicknamed "the Rochdale division" for quite a long time?) which are on my monitor here and there. But when it comes to Kent and football, I'm thinking of Gillingham (after asking myself whether Gillingham is actually in Kent or not, haha), maybe Dover hosting a small 6th or 7th tier club (with Dover Athletic) and that would be pretty much all if you would ask me about football in Kent, to be honest. I would probably never have heard of Ebbsfleet (Northfleet) if there wouldn't be a football club in the 5th tier. German sausages at Ebbsfleet Utd home matches, really? I'd never would have expected that, haha. As a German (who rarely eats any meat or meat products), I have to say that I appreciated British sausages a lot more, at least the few I've tried. They seemed a bit more finely minced inside, thus softer, more spicy and salty which I love. Especially in sausage rolls which are not common over here and I loved them! Best regards from Germany and please keep up your great content, I enjoy those channels about football or ground hopping which still seem fully authentic and down to earth as it should be!

Remember Thanet Council screwed Over Margate in 2003 When Hartesdown Park was going to be Redeveloped into 6,000 capacity and Conference fined Margate £50K for every home game played at Crabble the reason why Margate is in such a mess and still hasn't recovered. start A Petition for Ebbsfleet United to be changed back to Gravesend and Northfleet as for Chatham amazing crowds but a new Stand is needed before promotion to National League because we know crowds will go up and we both saw that in play-off final and the ground could not handle a 3,000 all ticket sell out.

I think in years to come. We'll see the likes of Ramsgate, Chatham, Folkstone, Dartford fight it out in the Nls. Dover perhaps aswell if they kick on Soo many Essex,Kent and Londonsih based teams that aren't all too far away from eachother. Really strong area for football. Great crowds and fans aswell. Where as we could see more western sides fall off in comparison. Weymouth, Chippenham,Weston. Maybe a big turn around in the National league South. We'll wait and see. Although, size isn't everything. Dulwich seem to find the ishtmian hard and they're massive.

Very interesting video Matt and Tom. Similar lists especially regarding the bottom 4 or 5. As you mentioned the cluft between Gillingham and the rest is becoming larger. Chatham have the advantage of having alot of Gills fans, also wanting them to do well. Yourself of course Matt, you Chatomite. As for Dover, i cannot see them ever reaching the National League again. Their crowds were not good then. Also, similar to the Gills now, most of the clubs are either midlands or in the north. Journeys during the week were almost impossible. And Dover is much further than the Gills. Dover profited i think from Mr Parmenter, who plowed millions into his dream, of getting Dover on the football map. In my view they have been on a downwood Spiral, unfortunately for decades now. Still have good faithful fans though, but not enough. How can a full time team survive on under 1000 gates, as was the norm in the National League. Also, fans numbers will decline, as was the case, when a team permanently loses even under Andy Heesenthaler, back then. I reckon the Chats are the biggest prospects for the future, because all the other teams in Kent will be happy with the Status Quo. Only exception could be Ramsgate, but yet again a long journey for teams and fans on a tuesday night 😅

I would rate Folkestone as bigger than Margate. I would even rate Sheppey United as bigger than Margate atm. Historically, Margate have achieved far more than Sheppey but, as it stands, Sheppey are better supported by more than 100 and that's not counting the cup games against Billericay and Walsall, have achieved more in recent years and are on an upward trajectory while Margate have slipped from the National League to Isthmian South East.

Hi. I watch all your uploads. Me and my family are season ticket holders at Morecambe. The terrace behind the goal is the away end if enough tickets are sold. If not you're housed in the main stand. Morecambe run community days occasionally too which might explain the families in the 'away terrace'. The 'Berlin Wall' terrace across from you is what it is. No plans to extend it as far as I'm aware. I think a draw would have been a fair result on the day but thats football. Good luck for the rest of the season. #uts🦐🦐🦐

Great video. Although even as a Chatham supporter, I feel you've been a little ambitious with their ranking (I would put them 7th above only Ramsgate, Margate and Folkestone at present) . The main thing I witnessed at the play off matches was how inadequate the ground is currently for crowds of 3000 plus. Serious lack of toilet facilties and long queues for the bar/food. This is what I feel will hamper the club moving up to the next level. Judging from whats happened so far during pre season, it's looking like the club is continuing to concerntrate the great majority of funds in the playing side rather than improving the stadium/facilities.

Are you two going to meet up when you go to Folkestone? It`d be good if you do. I can see the reasoning both of you gave for your placings, but I`d definitely put Ebbsfleet second if we are discounting Bromley. Despite being from South London I still regard Bromley as a Kent club. Either way, it`s great to see them in the Football League.

Matt, your vlogs are decent mate. Seen you a couple of times now. I’m a Morecambe fan and was at the game Saturday. We all thought the goal was offside and quite clearly from your video your man was a foot onside at least. Great camera angle which would be impossible for a replay as the camera is only on far side (Berlin Wall) that’s the nickname of that uncovered stand you mention. You were at Exeter when we got relegated for the first time in our history. I also seen you at Brighton and Hove Albion last season V Burnley

That's a bit of a disrespectful thumb nail IMO we are in the same league after all, and we've also been in L1 more recently, having said that all the best for the rest of the season (except when you play us again obviously!!).

They can’t really play us v brightscum at 3.00, cos of the amount of trouble & fights we have, Millwall aint really a rivalry, it’s just a case of our boundaries overlapping & so is mainly about who has the more fans, we don’t treat them or the clowns (Charlton) as rivals, but they both do look at us as rivals, it’s just brightscum for us

A bit like the Tyne-Wear derby, the South Coast derby is originally a rivalry not between football clubs but the two towns/cities. Or more precisely, between the two harbours/docks. It goes back a few centuries.

I liked tourists' day trip explaining about Morecome. I can't see Morecome ever go further than L1 unless they expand the ground on that other side, which they will need to do to make money. I think we are doing well considering our main strikers are injured, so we'll play the b team. This looks like a goods squad put together by a manager who knows how to get promoted out of this league. The away support is very vocal as always. Keep it up and enjoy the ride. UTG

As someone whose just started as Dartford on football manager… this video really helped bring it all to life for me! Thank you keep up the great work 👏 (first season we got play offs but knocked out in the semis by Chelmsford 😢 we’ll get them next year!)

A few derbies up here you touched on Grimsby v Scunthorpe but Grimsby v Lincoln is just as intense, none league as a Worksop fan, which I hope to get you up to see us one day, Worksop v Alfreton is a big game for us when it happens, the hatred stems back from the 1960’s in the old Midland league days and the now defunct Retford Town, more modern rivalry is with Gainsborough Trinity, Believe it or not there is a Worksop derby Worksop Town v SJR Worksop, we played them 18 months ago in the first ever meeting in the Sheffield Cup at Sandy Lane and the gate was over 2,500 , Also a mention is the Retford derby Retford United v Retford FC , both are in the same league, last season was in the NCEL Division 1 both games had gates of over 1,500 and this season after both teams were moved sideways it will be in the United Counties Division 1 , both grounds worth a visit

I was at the game, considering it was our first game back at this level in a decade, I thought Tamworth gave a great account of themselves against Sutton. We do have two local derbies. One against Solihull & the other against Forest Green (depending on how far you're willing to stretch out the term "local") 😂 great video, will subscribe to the channel
