In the Earthquake episode, Cheng Xiaoshi starts off at a basketball game in the evening, with the sun up, and plays the whole game. The whole game would probably be 1.5-2 hours, then he went home, then, we see he's still in control for part of the time as he'd being rescued in broad daylight the next morning. The Earthquake was in May, meaning the days were longer, but even so, that would be cutting it close, what with the night time taking up a whole ten hours.

Agree that dungeon meshi is great. Its just that I get different vibes from the authors of each series. I usually don't believe that you need a wealth of life experience to write great stories but its pretty apparent when you compare how they go about storytelling. Frieren's author's writing feels like a privileged sheltered girl with no personality and no real world wisdom. Like a person who thinks that she knows better than everyone else and tells the most basic and vanilla of themes and messages. Messages that are so one-note that only the most socially & emotionally-stunted individuals would find "deep and meaningful". The storytelling and delivery of messages are so heavy handed it feels amateurish. Everything from the writing, characters, and world: you can feel the author's personality seep through and it is pretentiously shallow and preachy. Meanwhile the progression is just a sequence of disjointed arcs, with each arc having no bearing on the next. Its like a make-it-up-as-you-go patchwork of individual arcs with no overarching plot or goal to tie it all together. Dungeon meshi's author feels like that lone person sitting by themself at the table. When you talk to them you learn that she's actually passionate and knowledgeable about their fantasy hobbies/games/media instead of just using it as a cardboard cutout of a setting. She writes such compelling characters you believe she's someone who actually knows how real people behave and think instead of just labeling a character with a foreign name. DM's story, character dynamics and interactions, variety of characters, worldbuilding, comedy, etc are leagues above and each aspect come together so neatly in a comprehensive package with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

I like dungeon meshi the most because of the diversity in body shapes. If you read the daydream hour in dungeon meshi the author acknowledged that she draws her characters all too similarly and changed that. While Frieren seems to keep the safe conventional attractive for both males and females.

Vein is a friend of Liu Xiao aka Xavier and his eyes are red. He could have been the first red eye because he kept going on about some game and punishment in S1 when he stabbed Lu Guang and he repeated the same line in the trailer. It must be why he chose to stab Lu Guang, because of his frustration that he keeps changing the timeline. Perhaps he is the time keeper of the game (the time lines must all just be a game to him). Or it could also have just been Liu Min himself. Liu Min wanted to kill and humiliate the victims unlike Qian Jin who wanted to make their death seem like a suicide because he’s a law enforcement officer and lawyer and hence doesn’t want to be found out. I think TianChen’s killing style has more to do with the personality of who is hiring him. Killing them brutally is in correspondence with Lui Min’s personality while Qian Jin would have been a more covert killer so making it look like a suicide suits him well. These are just my theories though.

For Giji Harem, the anime adaptation has changed a few things that are leaving manga fans upset. Not to mention the studio nomad, more known for comedy... It's best to read the manga since the anime is not including the fact they are dating. It's implied but not shown unlike the manga.

The complaint about The Elusive Samurai was my complaint with Assassination classroom. So I'm pretty sure it's just a writers trope at this point. In Elusive Samurai the boy was literally having a meltdown after the tragic events and 1second afterwards it leads into a gag. Edit To Avoid Leaving Multiple Comments: It was kinda weird for the commentor to focus on the crushes in Wand And Wistoria, The show has mainly been an action driven show. And the reason why the MC isn't focused on his harem is because he's literally only focused on his goal.

This has been a season to catch up on reading manga of the last couple seasons like Frieren, Bocchi and spy family. Also just finished the Dungeon Meshi series and it was absolutely awesome. Which, of course it was, you guys said it would be. Except for Nokotan. I love that show and the pun-hater in your list can get deerstroyed. I've almost doubled the time I put into Japenese lessons the last couple months because I want to understand even more of the puns in the show. I have been watching dungeon people, too, as a nice relaxing show. My disappointment was Pluz-sized Elf. I though it was going to be like How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift - a silly show that snuck in actual fitness tips - rather than a show I can't watch with blinds open😟.

I th8nk it's some kind of cycle where lyza/riko keeps getting to the bottom, dying, getting sent to the surface without memories, getting pulled back into the abyss and so on. Honestly, I kinda prefer Pluto to Monster and 20th Century Boys. There are some downsides, but Pluto felt far more... compacted, I guess. Though I do prefer manga to anime - you can set your own pace when reading, imagine your own sounds and unwritten details, yet as anime Pluto felt rather slow and while art is great, it is a little oversaturated and sound design was a miss for me.

maybe the 12 hour rule didn't apply to lu guang since when he went back he changed it so Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't die meening lu guang never got the power therefore lu guang technically never travelled back in time since he didn't have the power.

for me (i just finished the dunmeshi manga), what caught me for dungeon meshi is truly laios. he is so weird, so autistic, so creepy, so cute. i immediately loved him, even if it took a bit till i really got into the story itself.
