    I got Epsilon (Newtonian) 1.5 years ago, and never collimated since, despite taking it everywhere. Surprised?! Proper built scope doesn’t need collimating often if ever. Moreover, collimating of upper end scopes must be done by experts. Scope on your background is mass produced. It has very poor mechanical construction; of course, it will need collimating after every swinging to target.

    Word of caution to any newcomers to this hobby: You will not see stars/nebulae like the ones in the photos in this video. It's completely inaccurate where he says "These are some objects you can observe with these binoculars" and then shows photographs. These types of photos require long exposures (2-5 minutes) with significant processing, often with specialty cameras. Visual astronomy can be a very fulfilling hobby, but it is super important to understand the limitations of physics before making any purchase or decision. This stuff is expensive, and many people get led astray.

    • @FelixsAstrophotography
      @FelixsAstrophotography Před 24 dny

      You are absolutely right. Some of these images have an exposure time of more than 8 hours.
