3D Printed Film Video Camera
zhlédnutí 65KPřed rokem
Check out my blog post for details: joshuabird.com/blog/post/3d-printed-film-video-camera At $800 per 10 minutes of footage, this is probably the most inefficient movie recording medium! The camera uses 35mm film in photography canisters, and the image captured is about the same size as super 16 film (ie. ~3x the size of super 8). Each 36 exposure roll of film only captures about 15 seconds of ...

Where do I get to know about the camera pose estimation part? How do I do it?
Bom demais mano!!
Yep, this kid is going places!
This is amazing!!!!!!!!
fantastic work. do you have any data on efficency and thrust of those motors and propellers?
incredible work!!
A passionate knowledgeable maker
Amazing...
Which flight controller did you use
been almost half a year but something I suggest for keeping position when the mocap view is blocked is letting the drone remember where it is and know where its moved that way it can revert its movement back to where it should be (edit: without the help of realtime positioning or communication with the swarm)
that portra rug is fire
exceptional work, 👋
*Took a while but ever since drones were created I predicted this!* Kudos young man!!! He has created 'Flocking Algorithms' for drones. I envisioned a system of drones carrying filming cameras you can program with custom flight patterns & paths to capture shots unlike any before. Cameras that, like birds, can be flown & act individually or as one hive mind. Yet unlike birds, can be Autonomous or Controlled or programmed. In this way you can not only achieve, but Automate & evolve in ways previously unfathomable, the Legendary '360° Matrix Effect'! For the Wachoski's to accomplish this took a tremendous amount of time & meticulous designing to ensure that each cam was staggered & height varied enough not to capture each other in the shots. Now imagine this process being instinctualized in drones Algorithmically!!! If not already at that level, what this young man has created is essentially the foundation of that vision I had sooo many.yrs ago,& it.makes this 40yr old smile!!! Whether you realize it or not, what you've just created has the capability to not only revolutionize the Art of Film, but also completely Automate it! Enhancements needed our voice recognition softwares to allow *Voice commands & facial recognition for 'Facial & Emotional Cues'!* That's right! *Cameras that react,Autonomously or predetermined,by emotional response!* With technology like this, what was previously thought of as impossible can now be reality. *The one man Filming operation* is now possible!
Can you post a video of how to build only the drone part?
we already have electric flyswatters
holy shit this is insane, would it work outside and if so could it be used to autonomously land planes or precisely land vtols ?
you just earned a sub
impressive!
Wow.. Wonder if this could work for an autonomous lawn mower?
why not put propeller at bottom ( we some prop guards) , and put your 3 led markers on any of the 4 motor mount points on top, just a cleaner drone design :)
you foqeeen useless
Ok Bro. But Why one would want a static dron doing nothing ?
Amazing! It’s possible to make with 24fps option?
This is actually pretty cool!
this is what i have been looking for... very thankful for the share...
Does it maintain heading when it loses vision?
Well if you have satellies you can do this with drones, kinda disturbing.
great topic thanks 👍
College project: Team A: Make a swarm of little drones that can drop a bit of paint and goo on victims below. Let software mostly control the flight, with command and control giving simple orders like go here, and drop paint there, etc. Team B. Make a swarm of little drones that can defend against a swarm of paint drones. Your little defender drones can take out paint drones using any methods available. Team A will try to attack the pilots of Team B, and Team B will try to defend. Go.
10:26 Me trying the same:
Hello sir myself gowda from Karnataka India I am planning to start toy manufacturing can design pcb for us
I need a mentor you trying to be him
mosquito bot 2.0 at 10 pm 👾👾
Amazing piece of engineering. Good work
huh, youtube algorithms realy spies on what you do. I literally bouth 16 of such dc motors (8523model) and cheap h-bride controllers, because I want to build tiny drone controled by arduino pro mini. And this is in my first page of youtube today. great project anyway.
Hello Josh May You Please Check Your Email. I'd Like To Know More About This Project.
adrenochrome
Can't wait for these to be weaponized. I love when short movies like 'Slaughterbots' become reality 🥰🥰
I am almost giddy with excitement over the potential destruction these little drones can cause. Like the Star Trek movie, or the fly from the Get Smart movie. You could put poison on them, or have them spray toxic substances on targets. They could make their way into missile silos and weapons platforms. They may be able to trick animals and insects into swarming onto targets. . . Oh the imagination soars!
very cool, but I have a dumb question. How hard or different is it to create a drone with the camera or sensors to do this without an external camera?
This is f*cking awesome. Really well explained. Congrats
What drone do you use?
dope tech. nice work
Bravo... I just recently learned that the Wii controller contains a camera that reports the 3 brightest IR points in it's view., for orientation detection. Seems like a potential shorcut for some of your location detection...
I try to install pseyepy but error: Cython.Compiler.Errors.CompileError: pseyepy/cameras.pyx Why?
A great example of an open source solution for drones! We at JetSoftPro, a software service, also develop software for drones and think that your solution is very interesting!
Damn bro , you just accomplished the project I am working on for years, can you please help me with the list of cameras that can be used for tracking? I had Kinetic but I failed
interesting how hard would it be to motion capture from the drone itself.. motion capture in VR has gone through the same problems, and having cameras on the device made it more universal and easier to use
I understand that this might be a bit out of budget, but would a system with uwb transceivers be more robust? Also, could the system be adapted to work with more cameras for redundancy/accuracy reasons?
You can make cheap full body tracking for vr games
