Is it better to go straight hook and sinker or does the bobber help?? I always thought that bobbers make the hookset ratio worse. Just wondering what you think

Never really fished that much. I did a little bit here and there during the summer with my Dad and brothers, but we stopped after basically 4th grade for me. Now I’m a college sophomore and want to get into fishing. This video helped a lot man! 🙏

It’s a gig. Old timers would go up and down the river banks with spot lights at night and stab flat head catfish or stab them when checking drop lines or jugs.

38 and trying to learn to fish I’ve tried going a couple times but with inexperienced people. I want to learn to do things the correct way. I’m going to try this today.

It is a old school Johnson and if you did,not grow up using one you would not be comfortable using it.

If you are gonna go with the smaller ones get the 75. It's the same frame but with a larger diameter spool. The difference in weight is 4.9 vs 5.0. better line management.

I use mine for musky fishing throwing big glide bait and spinner baits. I also use it for bass fishing throwing and A-Rig.

Ive said it before. To many boaters that can afford the boat but cant fish. If you would leave a tournament you are not fired up to fish , dont have the fire in your heart it requires to fish competetively. When im not catchin em in practice i usually have a good tournament. The boater you drew is a loser that should be blacklisted from future tourneys.

Walking around the pond asking kids how they are doing and you will find the ones "NOT" catching fish... are not baiting their hook correctly. A moment or two teaching them how to put a worm on the hook can make the difference between an exciting fish catching adventure and a "white wash". What we may take for granted, like how to put a worm on a hook, can be very intimidating for someone who has never taken their kid fishing before.

I heavily disagree with that bluegill setup. You might as well stomp on your worm. The BEST way to rig an earthworm for panfish is a size 8 bait holder with two passes of the worm on the hook.

Thanks dude....yea, I sometimes lose smaller fish cause they take the worm right from my hook. Lol Now I know how to rig my hook with live worms. 😊😅

These little pan fish are so smart. No matter how I bait my hook, they manage to steal my worm! They keep "pecking" at it until they get most of the worm off my hook, leaving only pieces.
