You still haven't worked-out a reliable speed control system. I suggest using 555/556 IC chips for speed and govenor control curcuits.

I'm a tone cabinet fabricator. This is one of the nicest beginner approach I've seen. You only need a few more problems to solve, to be there. 1. Easy to use, foot control speed switching. 2. Simple speed control circuit (I'd suggest 555/556 timer ICs. Both as speed control and comparitor (govenor curcuits), to keep speeds from going out of spec (stopping or over-reving). 3. Beefier motor to rotor power transfer. 4. Drivers, (I'd suggest an active crossover), with two power amps. 5. A reason to do it. 4. Real

"Thanks a Million times !!!" , I was looking for a solution to hold the guitar in a sitting position, I have a heavy American fender strat, it was a pain to hold it on the thigh. I just improvised with a cloth belt over a normal Mic holder clip (although the belt crimps a little bit but thats ok) that too over a 2 piece mic stand with heavy small foot print round base and it takes the weight off the guitar. Also the guitar can be tilted to the desired angle & tilt with a little adjustment. Its safer in sitting position. Long hours of practice can be performed without painful thighs & straining ones neck. If kept upright, one can even perform standing up. Thanks again. From Badlapur, Bombay India.

Hey. Great ideas! I have a suggestion (I’m glad I saved it). Take a mic clip that’s the spring type with the 2 sides you squeeze to open for the mic. Take out the screw and remove the clip. Put the screw back in and you have something that fits on the mic stand perfectly, can run a string through, and will be held in place by the screw. I also think I’m going to try bike handlebar pads on the stand. What did you use for the heavy string? Thanks and enjoy!

The plexiglass panels was a brilliant idea, and it makes for the ideal cabinet when gigging at a nudist camp. Does your speed dimmer control ad a lot of electrical noise to the signal? I had this problem when using one with a similar leslie that I removed from a spinet organ.
