Will change in one program ( feed , speed or anything else ) update the same feed , speed in part family programs ? Would not be easier to keep one program and just change parameters in design to reflect other similar parts ? TS will regenerate machining operation anyway to reflect new part design.
Hi. Yes you could choose to run TopSolid that way as well. Just modify the design, rebuild the machining file. This works well so long as you don't need to document each individual part, machining setup and so on. If you so, working off of a family might be more beneficial because you can automate the back end of documentation as well to help keep things moving along quickly. Again, the beauty of TopSolid is you can achieve what you need to achieve in many different ways. This example was made to answer to a specific strategy of manufacturing family of parts.

Depending on the operation, you could modify the value in the altitudes tab of the operation. Or if you are looking to add another position before the Z down, you could modify the approach link movement and add the value there.

HI, great series of videos. I have a question, how can i use the stock created in op 1 on the cam side of top solid and use it to creat a fixture like we do in this video. When i finish op1 on cam i repositioning the part and the stock is automaticaly updated. how can i use this for my op 2 stock on the assembly ? instead of pocket every shape and holes. Sorry for my english, i'm from France. Your videos are like gold for me.
HI, thanks! You would need to extract the stock as a part. You do this by right clicking on the machined part node in the NC Operations tree and choosing Others...then Extract Machine Part Stock.

Hi, I work on a Variaxis with topsolid and when the tool change , the link movement go to A0 C0 even if the next operation use the same table position ... Is there a way to change that without changing the link movement each time ? Basically I don't want to move the table before tool changes
Hi, this is actually managed by the tool change point. You can create your own tool change point and remove the values for your A and C. Then set that as the tool change point to use and it will no longer send the axes home.
