It takes about 5 years to build a business up that has a steady stream of work like ours. With regards to the $150.00 price it all comes down to economy and demographics. Economy being the main point and what it can handle. We do not want to price our self out of work. We are all feeling the pressure of our failing economy.

@@pontoonparadise8087 I completely understand. The price has to be what someone is willing to pay. Different areas can handle higher prices. During you 5 years of building up your business what was your best and worst returns on different types of marketing?

@@Project_Pat Thank you! You know what it’s like. We always know when we pull up on a driveway how fast or slow we are going to have to go. To combat this it’s always nice to mist the driveway with alittle water. But sometimes water is not available so you have to really know what your doing. Thanks for the great explanation 😀

@@pontoonparadise8087 I just installed my water tank in my trailer. Runs off a 12 volt pump that I hook to an old battery. It’s a game changer. I’m almost always by myself so I need as much time as possible. Appreciate your videos.

@@Project_Pat that’s funny we used to have the same thing and we ran a toggle switch to our truck battery. You think outside the box too! I love it

@@pontoonparadise8087 I’m actually going to wire the pump to a trailer plug. Use the positive and negative for the lights. Then I can turn my lights on in the truck and have power to the water pump through the trailer plug. I’ll just unplug my trailer when I’m sealing. No more carrying a battery.

@@Project_Pat I did it the same way. If im not mistaken it has an extra pin on you trailer wires just for that.

We offer a special in this neighborhood because we do alot when we go in for the day. If this driveway was not in a neighborhood and we didnt have driveways to go with it we would of charged more.

@@trapasetarotangelicmessage325 Yes absolutely the weight. We use to use the horse hair brooms in the early 2000’s. They do a beautiful finish. Once they came out with the magnolia brooms I was a little leery of trying them but I really couldn’t tell to much of a difference besides the weight. The horse hair brooms really give your arms a work out😀 if they stopped making the magnolia brooms the only broom I would use would be the horse hair.

@@dustinchafin8750 So I don’t have to take my shoes off 😂 I could pop my shoes off and stand on the concrete and do the last finish stroke. But it’s easier if he does. Sometimes I’ll do a back drag if it’s setting up fast. I don’t like to do that because when the sealer wears that last pass will be a shade different in color. So to make it a little easier I just let him do the last pass.

Sealer is made from Clay,Water, and a form of Crude Oil. The "fumes" you are refering to are the evaperation of the water coming from the sealer. Sometimes the steam or evaporation coupled with the uv rays can cause a burning sensation. Also as a side note some manufacturers put carbon black in the sealer to give a blacker appearance. Carbon Black better known as Printer Ink.

Can’t go by that because every driveway has a different texture. But I can tell you for a 20x15 you would use 10 to 20 gallons. Hopefully that helps.

You sure can! Learn first it looks easy but it is actually harder than it looks. It took us about 5 years to get really good. Lots to learn but we are in our early fifty’s. You also don’t have to do as many as we do in a day. You could do what you feel is comfortable. Be good to your customers and always strive to do the best work.
