A Weekly Paul McCartney Videocast/Podcast featuring Andy Nicholes and Tom Hunyady.
Episode 249: One Hand Clapping (With Adrian Sinclair)
We are very happy to have one of the distinguished authors/researchers/film editor Adrian Sinclair back on 2Legs this week. Adrian is the co-author of the celebrated "The McCartney Legacy Volume 1 1969-73", along with Allan Kozinn.
Adrian joins Andy and Tom as he gives an overview of this period in Wings history. Starting with the seeds of the era in during the infamous trip to Nashville in the Summer of 1974, then Geoff Britton and Jimmy McCulloch joining before heading back to London and Abbey Road where "One Hand Clapping" was planned to be filmed and released.
The film was directed by David Litchfield but has remained on the shelf but snippets have been officially released most recently on the Archive Edition of Band On The Run (Nov. 2010). Adrian tells us about meeting David Litchfield and we are also happy to include a short soundbite of an interview he conducted with Litchfield during 2018.
All this on the heels of "One Hand Clapping" the soundtrack album which is due out next week on the 14th June. We hope this episode gears you up even more for the release.
Volume 2 of the McCartney Legacy is expected to be released on 10th December 2024. www.amazon.com/McCartney-Legacy-1974-80/dp/006300075X
We thank Adrian for his time and hope you enjoy it!

The Analogues from the Netherlands are musically the best Beatles tribute band & replicate the sound of the Beatles recordings live better than any other tribute bands I've seen. The problem is they don't perform a lot & it's mostly in Europe. They have CZcams videos posted from their shows which they perform complete albums from starting to ending track. Sgt. Pepper, Magical mystery tour, The White Album, Abbey Road, Let it Be. Here's A link to Abbey Road czcams.com/video/BCG6faO1pjQ/video.html
@@davidenders9282 have heard/seen them too. They’re good! But the Fab Faux imo are the best. They’ve been performing the tough material - full albums - Revolver/Pepper/Mystery Tour/White Album/AR since 1999. They were the first tribute band to tackle the middle to late period. The Analogues are up there for sure, but The Fab Faux musically are superior (the band are all professional musicians) Will Lee (Bass) has worked and recorded with Paul.
More importantly it would have been my fathers 85th birthday today 😊❤😂
Put it there, Dino. Put it there.
Hi Andy
@@JPM1942 hi!
The 20% off UNCUT code is US4JULY.
I just watched something I hadn't seen before that came up in my CZcams feed a few days ago. Paul McCartney Rehersal outtakes from The Parkinson Show 3rd December 1999. It was really great to see him preparing for the interview and doing some wonderful versions of songs live in the studio. It was 36 minutes long but I see there is a longer version so I plan to watch that too.
Hey Andy, Great Sunday chat video!! So Sorry I missed it live I was on a mini vaca. I am SO EXCITED FOR THE VIDEOS you will make when you are in England for Pauls concerts!!!! I hope you get to meet him!!! I am really excited to see your videos for the John Lennon Mind games Box set also. I agree I also Likes two of Us and Back Beat. I have yet to see Nowhere Man. I have gotten the one hand clapping lp and cd, it is GREAT!!! Take care.
Hi Joe, Thanks man! Really excited too. Thanks for supporting us. Nowhere Boy is a good one worht the watch. Hope you're enjoying OHC! Best, Andy

Very good show, do y'all have to pay to broadcast that. I've seen the performance a long ago back ( pardon the pun). Paul sounded excellent!
I thought I noticed a sound change on the 2nd part of 1985. This is one of my top 5 of Paul's solo works. Thanks for the explanation
Always enjoy these Sunday shows, the conversations always bounce around and you keep things interesting! I personally think with all the Wings talk this year, we might get another McCartney suprise relating to Wings for Christmas...Maybe a remixed version of Cold Cuts...Thats my prediction.
@@jmarti03261 thank you James! I try to keep it moving and engaged with the viewers. - cold cuts remixed! Nice call!
It's stunning how much Adrian knows about Paul. I would rather get the Archive sets but this is great.
🙌🏻
Thanks Debbie!
I watched Wogan every Monday, Wednesday and Friday night ......including this show.
I was at this show, and in 1989, plus Parkinson in 1999. At the time I ran a record store and All the Best would have been #1, had it not been for George Michael's 'Faith'. album. The buzz for Paul in December 1987 was the biggest it had been since Tug of War, this was helped by the 20th anniversary of Sgt Peppers, for which the promotion was massive and I played the cd in the shop which sold loads and of course George Harrison was in the charts with 'Cloud Nine' and 'Got My Mind Set on You'. I was still waiting for Paul to do a full concert as I saw him live three times in 1986, but I think in 1987 he only played live at the San Remo festival. 🙂🎸👐
Gosh, I remember watching this live!
I was at this show 😊
Wogan 1987 was a good choice. Any chance of doing the 1999 Parkinson interview - classic!!
Yes, we'll get to that as well.
I was at both the Wogan And Parkinson Shows 🙂👐
czcams.com/video/SLncY7Q1hIQ/video.html Not sure if this has been around before but it showed up on YT a couple of days ago.
Yup you know it Tom, classic one! "Chase The Blues Away"
@@tomhunyady7465 ....Great! Thanks, Tom.
I saw this episode of Wogan when it was originally aired back in 1987. I remember being really pleased that All The Best sold well after the relative failure of Press To Play! Terry Wogan said Paul was one of his favourite people to interview because he was relatively normal and down to earth considering his legendary status. Terry didn't name names, but as a chat show host he came across quite a few not so nice famous people.
Interesting James isn't it. That's one of Paul's charms. He's just down to earth despite the mega celeb status which is why we love him isn't it?
Good show, British talk shows were definitely different than American talk shows. Good chemistry between Wogan and McCartney. Compare that to the Late Night with John Carson when McCartney was promoting Broad Street. As always thanks Tom and Andy, be well , enjoy the summer! Cheers!
Tom and Joe share John as their favorite Beatle, so who cares. I don’t think that Joe loves Paul, if he does strange way of showinfg it. and he doesn’t have to John is his guy.
Other than the tech issues, you guys were all good sports. Love the release and hope and pray more of this will be coming from the MPL archives.
Going to all 4 UK shows.
Seen Macca 7 times. Sweden 1993, 2004, 2011 & 2015, Denmark in 2003 and 2018 and Berlin 2009.
Got tickets for the first show in Manchester 😊
See ya there!
Great show, I think one of your longest ones....that's on the BeatleyTone level...As always bringing Peace to the Neighborhood "Macca Podcast Neighborhood" that is! Cheers!
Thank you! Trying to make these more regular spots on Sunday mornings!
Great live!! I got tickets for UK
Well done Debbie! Where?!

Hey guys, I've been obsessed with all things Paul since 2018 and finally managed to get tickets to see him in London! This will be my first time so I'm super excited. If you needed a "correspondent" for that show let me know! keep up the good shows!
@@justinwebb1491 thank you Justin! Yes for the London shows maybe you can be our correspondent send us an email!
People are probably aware but Geoff Britton has been interviewed about his time in Wings for the Hello-Goodbye page in the latest Mojo magazine (August edition).
Yes, we are aware.
Edit to one of my comments; I was actually referring to the James Paul McCartney special with the different UK/US/Japan broadcast songs as opposed to OHC. So we have yet another incomplete special that could have been rectified in the 2018 SDE of RRS. One day...
Anyone think c moon sounds a bit muddy compared to other tracks
Yes, definitely!
Great show, I had to catch it in sections. Tom, I definitely agreed with your perspective on Wild Life and the guitar work by Jimmy. Vocals and harmonizing out of this world....Cheers
Thank you!
@@2LegsAPaulMcCartneyPodcast Just like any McCartney release, it takes a few listens, but my favorite side is LP #2 side D. Keep on rockin 2 legs.
Great discussion!! Thanks
Thanks Garry!
👋Clapping 😁
Many congrats guys from one big Wings fan to two others. Finally a chance to watch this now. 🍻 🍻. Great cast with parents, Joan, Joe Mayo, Kit, Tone etc.
Are u still live?
Congrats guys! Back in L.A. had a horrible bout with COVID...Hope to get on a live stream soon.....Here's to much more great content from you guys...Appreciate you!
9-9-09 was a magical time. What a gift from Susan and Jim. I have both the Beatles and John Lennon box of vision. They were created by a former Capitol Records executive with help from Bruce Spizer with the liner notes. Fun times as a fan!
Hey guys. Sorry I missed the live feed. Such a fun release! Wings fans rejoice!
I pre-ordered the 2LP+7" and I still haven't gotten it, but it's supposedly arriving Monday. UMG apparently thinks Maine is a foreign country. But I ran out to Bull Moose Friday and bought the CD. I made the mistake of pre-ordering the Crooked Boy CD from Ringo's site and didn't get it until a week and a half after its release. So, I learned my lesson and it's no more pre-orders from UMG for me unless it's a web exclusive.
Actually, Andy, we've all waited 50 years for this, so a few days shouldn't be bad.
Happy Father’s Day to your dad
Hey Andy
Just a note: Michael Angelis, who voiced George in 'Yellow Submarine,' was from Liverpool.
Michael Angelis also narrated the UK edition of Thomas the Tank engine for seasons 3 and 4.
Happy 250! Same day as my birthday. Although I'm a little bit younger than 250!
Controversial take? Wait until I write an article declaring Two Virgins to be superior to The White Album!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congrats!
Nice work, lads.
During its heyday, my brother used to print out rec.music.beatles for me every few days so I could read it. I didn't have a modem back then.
Loved the show! Loved all the guests y'all had on with their many insights and opinions. What was up with Tom's sound? Everyone came in loud and clear but his volume seemed lower and I had to turn up my volume when he spoke
Thanks. I may have figured out why my volume was low.
Congrats 250 watching re live🎉🎉❤
✨Congratulations! 🥳 🎉
