Thank you both for sharing your loss and trauma. I grew up with parents who argued constantly and have memories as early as 2 1/2 of my dad physically abusing my mom. I don't think he ever cheated on her but the arguments and physicality were constant until he was diagnosed with cancer and then passed away when I was almost 13. I still love my dad but I have very conflicting feelings about him because what he put my mom and us through. He came from a broken home himself with alcoholic parents that also fought then my grandma cheated on my grandpa and left him with 4 kids so I understand his example was really crappy but at the same time, he could have been different. We were part of a very conservative Christian church and none of my friends had the same experience so I've never been able to talk about it, almost 40 years later I still struggle with that. My mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was 19 and passed away when I was almost 24 so I ended up with the responsibility of my 5 younger siblings. I've also lost my younger brother 5 years ago, came home for lunch and found him on the floor, gone. Grief is compounded with each passing but it is a never ending process that some days are good but some days are not. Birthdays, death anniversaries and mothers/fathers day have always been hard because other people are posting to their parents and I don't have that, not even inlaws unlike my siblings. Despite having had so much loss in my life, everyone has a different path and journey but agree, if someone you know has recently lost someone, reach out at the 2 - 3 month mark because it's a really lonely time as the shock wears off and reality sets in. I have an aunt that remembers every birthday, every anniversary and messages me telling me she's thinking of me which I really appreciate. This has helped me immensely so thank you, I appreciate it more than words can say.

I got backlash as well, online, when I opened about how horrible my pregnancy was. I was MISERABLE. Constant throwing up & constant misery & depression. It SUCKED. I couldn’t do anything, I was in bed 24/7 just puking. More women need to talk ab this stuff! The bed shaking is something I’ve experienced since I was in middle school and it still happens sometimes. And it’s obvious that it’s not from me or my boyfriend or anything else.
