@@rcasey ThunderDome is getting redone. It will have a separate carpet track this fall. I would expect 17.5 2w and 13.5 4w buggy to be the main classes. As they are most track.

That turf doesn’t have the grip I’m used to with grey or black carpet. Sauce is a must use.

I tried a number of different locations for it. Eventually just Velcro it to a bar over the track aimed straight down. It’s infrared, so beam has to see the transponder

@@billykelly1013 do you have the transponders installed on MR-03 RWD MM cars that are from readyset kits, or? I'm asking because the ICS connector type transponder for LapMonitor is not wired correctly for my readyset MR-03 RWD MM cars.

@@cosmicstuff44 They have to be wired to the battery posts. If I remember right. I’ll try to look after work. The Evos they can be plugged in directly

@@billykelly1013 thanks, I have found this out since commenting. There is a transponder that has ring connectors that allows for putting them directly on the screws on the battery connections. I also discovered using a multimeter that on the RTR MR-03 MM the ICS connector on right side of car actually has the same voltage present at the rear most two pins as I get at the battery terminals. So if there was a way to tap the leads from the transponder into those two pins instead of where they are normally it should work and then be turned off same as car using the switch for that. I haven't come up with a way of doing that though. I have the transponders with ring connectors on their way. I'm thinking of rigging a very small slider switch on it so I can turn the transponder off with the batteries still installed.

I’ve now raced on 5 different gray carpet tracks. Freestyle, or Zero is the most forgiving. Not super crazy grip. But good.

@billykelly1013 that was my first time on a carpet track. It's vary different than dirt and clay 😂

@@my_rcs_only Yes it is. And black carpet feels completely different from any of the grey carpet. Never ran dirt, but I did clay. Carpet felt so much simpler at first. I’d fought to find or make tires work on clay. Suddenly, having traction was a big change

Yeah. Made the right decision to come over. The fun factor had faded with on road. And what classes run vary track to track. When I saw Von’s post and saw FWD/USGT. That really influenced Fridays decision to go east.

Little small. Just not used to turf. Plus was very cold overnight. So it took awhile for traction to come in

​@@billykelly1013if you think the track is small now you should of been there 10 years ago when it first opened. Where the drivers stand and pit area is now wasn't there that's were the wall was. Where the track is now was the whole building pits, track and drivers stand in that little area.

@@kellyroberts9391 I started carpet on a 25x30 track. Toy Box is bigger than that. Just narrow lanes. Cool place. Should be back in April

This is about 80x40. Fairly standard size. Layout change every week. Associated, Xray, TLR, Schumacher are common brands.

I’d probably saw Crash n Bash. I’m not running very good at Batavia. They are still working on ramps and layouts.
