@hudsonhancock3266 I think I used auxbeam, but I can't recall the part number they use. If you look up a 9004 LED bulb for these trucks you should find somthing similar
Looking at a JD 40 this weekend. Guys not sure if the engine or transmission is stuck. Hopefully it’s the engine
@bbplayer546 I would think if it was in neutral if the engine wasn't stuck it would turn, could even try turning it with the clutch pushed in, hard telling, could be stuck between gears
It’s just a 3 step process but you skipped the critical first step. The surface needs to be properly prepped for best adhesion. That means sanded down to uniformly scuff surface, wipe off paint dust then degrease with acetone. In your application video the liner was rolled on a nasty surface - it was a fail from the beginning
@@drdrew3 if you say so lol
would have been a good idea to vac that dirt out of there,,,lol , but was 10 years ago , so Im sure your good,,lol
@guglielmodicarlo4139 yeah, in my younger years I wish I would have done a lot of little things differently lol
Wow great video didn’t even show me how to put the damn thing it
@randumness_6038 you could just do the opposite of what I did when I removed it, guess you also missed the part where I told you to "slide it in until you hear an audible click" too
Thanks for the video. I empathize with you, as i am 70yo, and have always had to fix things by the seat of my pants, and often have to do thngs over and over, before i get them right, It is seldom easy, and i am no real mechanic, like my older bros were and my landlord is. I am a fool experimenting, to them!! Mine is a1983 F150, and now, the frame is rusting badly and affecting the tailgate badly on the passenger side. I can't weld and not sure if it can be welded, due to rust. I plan on running a ratcheting tie down, to bring the body, fender closer in, so the tailgate doesnt fall out down on the passenger side.. There is a gap there too big, due to rust and body.
Fair review, beating on it harder than it’s built to take
You gotta be the worst video maker ever. Although thanks for not cussing all the way through.
OMG, great video. I have to work on mine by myself just like you did so it answered all my questions. Thanks a million.
@@iowaunemployment happy to help
@@Kerrage 2 hours ago I left the review and then installed the slave. I was shocked at how easy it was after watching your video. I have the master just in case this does not fix the issues. Again you have the best vid on this topic. My truck is an f250 1984 also.
@iowaunemployment thank you, that's awesome!!
Wish we could have been there during the filming
How do you tell when the starter needs replaced? Im having issues with my truck starting. Watched videos and most said the sounds its making could be the starter.
@austincokeley2503 could be a couple different reasons, mine was that it wouldn't turn everytime I turned the key indicating that the solenoid was going bad, could also be slow cranking, but that can only be verified after you know your connections are good and your battery is full charged, and other times they can burn up from over cranking. Those are probably the most common reasons, but sometimes they just stop working too
@@Kerrage battery is charged i know that. Just tried starting it and it sounded like it wanted to go but then there was a clunk. Im pretty new to mechanics so its a bit difficult learning on my own. The clunk has happened 2 out of the 5 times i tried starting it. So i dont know if its the starter or not
@austincokeley2503 I'd recommend getting your started tested then you can know for sure if it's the starter or wiring
@austincokeley2503 also I got to thinking, get your battery tested, just because it has 12 volts doesn't mean it's good, you need the cranking amps to turn the engine as well
Where do you buy them?
@DJKLnificent got mine on ebay, dealer couldn't get the right one and orileys couldn't get them at all
Those Ford bullnose models are rare these days.
Thanks for posting this. I was trying to replace mine and it seemed like I was going to break something when trying to pull the old one off. I needed your video to see how much force to use. I didn't want to break something...
@@Nerd-jq1ve it's definitely on there pretty good
How much do you add? Is it one inch below?

@@KerrageHe wasn’t kidding. Manufacturer strongly advises to prep the surface by scuffing with sand paper or similar abrasive. You skipped the first step so it was bound to adhere poorly. In all painting PREP is the key to good results
@drdrew3 I did do just what the manufacturer recommend. Take my advice or don't, if I did it again I'd use raptor liner, but that's just me
@@Kerrage id use monsta liner ✨️
@SubieNubie1528 if I do another on a future truck I'll look into that one, I hadn't heard of it
Used this as a guide for my 88 Van. Gotta be careful some of those gasket bits can drop in the engine! Otherwise not a hard job! Thanks for the video
We get pretty cold in west texas too . Lowest was 0 its usually around 10 to 20 In winter
Mine is doing the same thing I hit the top of the steering wheel and light went off air came back on and windows went to working so I guess it’s something in the steering wheel
Good tip on solo bleeding the clutch.
Thanks! Same way I normally do my brakes
I’m looking to use this stuff on my ladder rack. Do you think this would hold up to ladders scuffing it?
I really don't know
Is it 4x100 bolt pattern? Where do you get spacers
This had 200x/ 1st and 2nd gen 250r hubs on it, so they were 4x110
Hello Kerrage. Appreciate the tailgates video. You mentioned a Chevy Square body tailgate would fit. I have a 1986 F250 and was wondering if you knew the year models of the Chevy gate would fit it?
I do not
U can delete the smog pump
I got the truck like this, and I've had it for a few years and it's always ran fine without the belt on it
U can use the 81 jug and piston on the 83
Looks easy enough
I thought only real men drove Dodges.
There needs to be a class action lawsuit
My Dakota will try to turn over and when I pull the key out of the ignition it is still trying to turn over do you know any reason why that could happen
Possibly a bad solenoid, could be sticking, but honestly could even be an ignition switch, I can't say for sure
@@Kerrage I’m thinking it’s the solenoid
Good tutorial
Dose it have Gear oil?
Yes, checked it in the 1st video
Rad support too full front end off on my truck now to fix
I am having the same issue in my 2019 6.7 Super Duty. A recall is a must for this problem. Lets all contact ford so they are aware of this issue
They are aware, but just don’t care
I bought the same thing last Oct, the old owner tore apart the flywheel clutch to remove the pto shaft and I’m not sure how it goes back together. If you ever need to take yours apart, some picture or a video would be helpful 😅 feel free to reach out and maybe we can help each other out with these rare balers
Mine has worked pretty decent once the knotters got cleaned out, I can try to send you something if it helps
Old girl doesn’t like the cold
Nope, slave cylinder really didn't like it
I had one, mine started acting like it had ghosts. Auto locks going up and down by their self, turn the key on and it would try to start without pushing it to start position. Bad ignition switch on column. Replaced it, cured all the gremlins.
That's what my bet is
Appreciate your review bro. Just applied this on my RAM. Looking to use a rubber mat in conjunction with this
Always use a ratchet he said so you dont cross tread them because their easily to crossthread....no way always use you fingers to start them and wiggle it a little as you turning them to make certain they are not cross threaded...then use a ratchet if you prefer but only a snug fit for tightness..you can always give it another slight turn if needed but once over done then ...problems. Finger start it with a little wiggling of the threads as you turn inward to ensure not cross threading...
Great music
Hell yeah 🤘🏻
Good video. Never messed with that model honda.
Mine was a 1983 and it had a 300 cubic inch straight 6
In my opinion, best online 6 ever made
You made me nervous blowing on the carburetor. Probably quite a few chemicals have gone through there. You did good getting it to fire up
Let's see it now lol
Looks about the same
Lets see more updates on the cr125
Got some other videos coming first, works been hectic and haven't had time to edit anything yet, but they're coming
Does anyone know if this had better highway performance then the manual three speed (just curious). If so assuming it was something like the three speed with overdrive?
I've owned a few of these cars. I know the gyromatic was available from 1949 to at least 1953. I owned a 50 and a 53 with this option. By 1956 they had advanced to fully automatic with push-buttons (had one of those as well). The gyromatic was semi-automatic, you would use the clutch to put it into either of the two forward ranges, and also for reverse. There were 2 gears in each range, making it a 4 forward speed transmission. To shift between gears in each range (if everything was original and working properly), it was only necessary to lift your foot briefly from the gas and you would feel it upshift with a slight "clunk". You could start in low range for a little better acceleration if desired and then move to high range using the clutch.
@@HalbertS-wt5hr thanks; do they run at lower rpm’s than the normal manual transmissions . I have ridden in a Chrysler with a similar setup but your pushed a chrome button on the steering wheel to move up into the higher position. I can remember my mother saying about leaning to drive on one of these in a 1952 coronet and I have old home movies of it going up the road and of my mother driving it on the inside. My grandfather bought it new with the intention of my grandmother learning how to drive. There is one the same year and color for sale locally and it had the gyromatic as well. It would be neat to own but I believe my ability to own antique vehicles is permanently a part of my past at this point in my life.
Would it work if I put a bullnose tailgate on a 90s ford? I’d Just have to swap hinges?
Hinges and latches I believe
@@Kerrage just got the tailgate, any chance you know the size of the torque screws are on the 80s hinge?
@@marcush4966 I do not
hey man these videos are really helping me with my 84 6.9 diesel keep it up
Happy they can help! Hoping to get back to it once winter allows it
Its all the same transmission - A Gyromatic Transmission in a Dodge, a Tip Toe Hydraulic in a DeSoto- anyway You simply put the Gear Lever Down hold the brake while you pick up the clutch then accelerate to any speed between 12 and 50 mph then lift your foot of the gas and you will hear the change up clunk from 3-4 you can kick down from 4-3 by putting the gas pedal to the floor and hitting it past the step. As for The Low Range 1-2 who needs to use it unless you are pulling a heavy load up a steep hill?
I list of tools needed would have been nice. example: size of sockets for the bolts at the start.
A lot of times I don't know what I need until I'm doing the job
