I've always enjoyed these SWU interviews, but I didn't fully understand or consider the issues with consent when dealing with active addicts and severely mentally ill individuals who are homeless and desperate for the interview fee. Not to mention minors and people for whom Mark raises tens of thousands of dollars in direct aid.

I'm glad you are happy and seem in a better place with writing these romances. From the first time you mentioned it, I don't think you need to tell us your pen name. It feels like it is for you, and those of us who find it can decide if it's for them too. Maybe one day you'll come back to this name and publish more under it, that doesn't have to be Pistol Daisy related. Do you ever get burnt out from being at home? You said you are extremely introverted and both of your jobs are work from home. How do you keep motivation flowing? Also, how do you choose between using past vs present tense in your stories? Oh! Do you still post on your second, homestead channel?

Thanks so much Natalia! Here's a suggestion from a voice over professional. Your audio would be improved by placing some sound-absorbing material on the wall behind you. The reflected "echo" from that hard surface effects clarity, and you are too good a narrator to have that happen! There are pre-made panels, or even a blanket or quilt can sometimes suffice. I've always heard that unsolicited advice should never be offered. Oh, well. I just can't help it as someone who is involved in recording spoken words, though! The "rain barrel" echo makes long-term listening harder! Best to you!

Don't feel pressured to release your pen name! I watched your pen name video around the time that it released and I agreed with damn-near all of your reasons 🩷 and happy 8th anniversary to both of you! Question: What did you do differently with your pen-named books that you didn't do with your Natalia Leigh books? I plan on self-publishing next Fall and doubt I'll have an audience to begin with 😅

For the questions: If you were to publish in a new genre, would you take a new pen name, your current pen name or your name? And same question for Daisy/its sequels? Do you choose to do it in order to separate the genres into different brands, or for the anonymity ?

I respect your decision to keep the Pen name a secret, although I would love to support you by grabbing all of your books because I am a fan of your writing style (absolutely loved Pistol Daisy) but again totally understand why you want to keep it secret. As someone who plans to embark on writing under a Pen name that I also don't plan on sharing within the next year or so, I have a question regarding that. How easy or hard do you find it to be to market a book in which you can't let anyone know that it's you. That's something that I am questioning heavily. Any tips you have on marketing a secret pen name would be greatly appreciated. Really enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. Take care Natalia!

I'm glad you found what you love writing. I read Pistol Daisy and loved it. I hope someday you can publish Whiskey City. Several years ago a woman who felt her channel was dead because subs were not growing and views were flat, decided to start a new channel, she used the same name, spelled the same. Two channels with the same name and she posted vids on the new channel. I don't know what gave her the idea to do it. But her subs and views went up. I'm not sure what she knows that made her think of that. But it worked. If readers think of you as the Pistol Daisy author maybe they are less likely to read your other works. I'm not sure.

When you said keep all your notes in one place. I immediately said YES. im writing my first novel and got stuff all over the place that i am now consolidating into one place in scrivener.

I would love to know more as a brand new author. I want to use a pen name because I dont want certain family members to read, and criticize...heavily, what I write. I also dont want to start where other aspiring authors have started with like giving pointers on writing to build an audience. I know itll be hard to build an audience from the ground up but I have stories I want people to see!

That would be fun to become an editor. I do not, however, know what university I should register for or what the price would be. I am a teenager from Ukraine, who longs for becoming a freelance editor within next ten or so years, since my meticulousness to minute details is impressive. I do not know my current English level, but I believe a few years of intensive work in an American university might greatly contribute to that. I would perhaps like to be either a line editor or a copy one. I myself, write stories, whose level (I believe) is not so good. Progress needs time and practice though. I would really like it if you read this comment and give me feedback on my punctuation in it. From my perspective, this area is paramount when it comes to being a copy editor. every time i get too tired to look at the screen, i close them and keep writing. Recomend trying it. i find it to be helpfull with first drafts to get the words out.

I have a question. I’m just getting ready to upload my first manuscript to KDP. If there are formatting problems, the only recourse is to redo in PDF and then upload again to PDQ. This may sound ignorant, but there’s no option of working within THE PDK system to MAKE the changes. Correct?

i do sorta the same, just roided up. i've had outlines range from 20k-40k word count and it takes me months to do it all. i working on novel next right now and i won't start it for a few more months
