Who could not love John Prine? It’s unfortunate to the extreme that this narrative was interrupted by a tRump political ad. Mr. Prine’s basic themes were about the little guy and compassion for the same. I don’t know or really care who is responsible, but I just find it in very bad taste to advocate in an ad for a person who seems diametrically opposed to those concepts of love and respect for everyone.
BTW BRuised Oranges
Will miss this man until the day I die ❤❤❤ Thanks for the music John
Neil Young was my favorite musician and song writer. John Prine comes in a very close second. I saw him playing in a bar in Lexington Ky. back in the 80's. A nice night of John Prine music. I know that Young and Prine were a lot different, but both could write songs and sing and play them in their own way.
Hello in there is my personal fav, I guess because I grew up in my grandparents house
Should be! I love this guy! No, not in a gay way, I just love his music!!!!!
Saw John Prince for the first time in 1980 and have loved him ever since. Saw him for the last time in Phoenix in 2012. Stood out side and waited to get an autograph for over an hour. Worth every minute. He was generous with his time and talked with us for a long time. A night I will forever treasure !! 😊🌠
He never sang a word I didn't believe.
I think id recognize John's acoustic anywhere. Almost as iconic as Willie Nelson's "trigger". Prine was the reason i was determined to learn Travis Picking.
Man, that camera man took want could have been an amazing compilati9n of footage and killed it! Things arr going and looking great, let's shake camera and move around. Let's block John's guitar playing by putting camera behind the backup guitar so all you can see is the back of that guitar. So much footage lost.
And that's Jim Rooney wearing the same adidas Stan Smith tennis shoes he still wears to this day.
Imagine watching you uncles old vhs tapes and finding this! Thanks for posting
Mondegreen is a word or phrase that results from a mishearing, especially of something recited or sung.
Great artist. Some may find it strange but I much prefer his voice the older he got right up to the last shows. My favorite performance is the one he did at Strombopoulos house, you can find it on CZcams.
You look at all of them having fun and i say its like the family i wished i had-lol could you imagine being the girl there in the video between them playing-hahaha lol fun to imagine
Always loved him and thankful fir him , akways will ❤❤❤
Bought this DVD 15 yrs ago randomly out of a head shop in KC called it's a beautiful day. Money well spent
He wrote and sang from his heart about things in his life or people he viewed in his life. Don’t get any better than that! Long live the legend!
I want this played at my funeral
I love this visual poet with so many stories that ring true.
Did I say John prince, you know I am talking about John prine, but, come to think about it, John was an absolute prince among men.
Thanks for this, it's typical, the wealthy producers are always screwing up art by putting a price tag on it, John's songs are priceless yet the big hot shot producers, that pay millions of dollars for worthless crap missed out on getting their grubby hands on it while he was alive, I'm happy John Prines music isn't making some wealthy fool more money they he already has, just for being a wealthy twit in the first place, buying the rights to artists work and selling it for some commercial to sell a car or whatever. I keep finding old songs that I am amazed by are from those musicians that produced their own work, or died real young, it's like if you tell someone they are great and they become successful, than that's the end of them, they stop making great music, maybe it's lucky John Prine didn't have millions of screaming fans, it's lucky he didn't play at giant stadiums, maybe it would have wrecked his work.
What’s the background on this video? Is this your kitchen?
One of the rare times he didn't fingerpick in used to regular pic
He was and still is in my book. Led me to not Give up on Anything
Nice that you can use chapters to find your favorite title. I love Three Rivers 😅
Same narrator voice for 80s motortrend 😂
I like how he picks ,not strums, his guitar.
This song has been guiding me through my early 20s. Thanks, John!
Can’t get enough.
Never delete this video
Been enjoying John's music since the first album when I was in high school. Saw him in New Orleans (West Bank I think it was) around 1981 in a small venue concert raising money for NORML. Timeless humor and pathos.
Mr. Prine was a very sincere guy, but if Willie Nelson did do one if his songs, the songwriter would get the lion's share of the recording royalties, as well as performance royalties. Copywrite law has changed some, but in the old days, a big artist covering a song was a gold mine for the person who wrote it.
I think that his best exposure was a friend saying “you gotta hear this”. My best friend in height school in the 90’s told me his dad sang him Christmas in Prison in the crib, now I’m buying every JP cd there was, from OBR so he got the most out of it. I’ve traveled hundreds and hundreds of miles of miles to see him and I’ve seen him in my hometown just a few years before he left us. I’m going to see if I have videos. I know that I have photos.
Hank III can do the same as Prine. Hope it happens
Speaking as a Larry, and as a loving fan of John Prine for over half a century, this is just a real joy for me.
