At no point has anyone said Allison transmission are bad. They hate on the gas powered trucks with chyrsler transmission in them.

Why the heck are you using as a degreaser? I see you have it in a Windex bottle but I assume that was just for the sprayer. I have a 2002 Renegade and the whole engine bay has a black sooty oily coating and it looks like the owner wasn't careful about adding 2 cycle oil to reservoir because they got it all over everything underneath and left it that way. Its rough looking, but actually runs better than my 1999 MXZ 600 and my 2003 MXZ 600HO so I know the owner was probably telling the truth when he said it has been rebuilt a few years back. But holy moly is this thing gunky.

So many comments about how "abusive" this is to your truck 🤦🏼‍♀️ The locked up U-Turn was probably the most stressful part for the truck, and even then the gravel on the road surface along with the wet muddy tires allowed for a good amount of the binding stress to be mitigated. The components on a 4WD truck are designed to be capable of handling terrain such as this. Going through mud isn't just inherently bad for a truck, what matters is how it's done, and what's done afterwards. In this case it was done perfectly fine! He/She kept the overall RPM's at totally acceptable levels, and the brief periods of higher revs were only held for short/acceptable durations. No bouncing off the rev limiter while pegged in low gear. He/She didn't hit anything or high center at any point, the truck barely even bottomed out at all save for 2 brief moments. He/She didn't slam the gear train in/out of various gears, didn't slide into cross ruts at full speed with the wheels turned the opposite direction, didn't fully submerge the engine or transmission in mud/water, or anything of these sorts. It was all done with control, in a reasonable fashion, within the means and capabilities of the truck and driver. The only arguable pointsnwould be just after entry, when the ruts make a sharp change in direction, this could put some stress/fatigue on the front end/steering components. But in this case they handled it properly and at a reasonable speed. Though, hitting the curb as you pulled into the bank drive through last week, now that was far more damaging than this would be. And then when they bounced a bit from drivng over the ruts towards the end (dug out by others immediately getting stuck after entering from the opposite direction), that could put some amount of stress on the suspension components, but very minor. Hitting those absurdly steep speed bumps in the parking lot of your office every morning, 5 days a week, at twice the speed of this... that's far more damaging than this would be. In fact, simply driving to work each day, idling your engine as you're stuck in an hour and a half of stop and go traffic, that's FAR more detrimental to the health of your vehicle than this. Or only ever traveling just a couple short miles to and from home, rarely ever reaching highway speeds, that's how you reduce the life of a drivetrain. Now, all that said, what matters most is how you care for, maintain, and service your vehicle. Neglecting to care for a truck (or any vehicle) will damage it no matter what you're doing with it, and different uses have different maintenance needs. The service schedule may call for checking the torque of the front end components at 60-70K miles, if you're regularly doing things such as this it would be wise to check them a bit more often, and not even necessarily because this is gonna cause them to prematurely fall out of spec, but because the detrimental effects it could have when doing these things if they are worn/loose. Even simply washing a vehicle properly and regularly can make a profound difference in the longevity of your vehicle, especially if you're taking it through this sort of terrain. Letting mud cake up and sit on/in/against/between/over/under/around various components can certainly impact them negatively. But all in all, this little bit of fun was harmless. Even if done regularly (if done properly such as this) there would be no reason to believe that that truck was in any better or worse condition than the next. Heck, that ol' bowtie can tackle much much worse (even if much more damaging) things and still get you home in time to make your wife her favorite dinner before she gets off work 😏 But it will still squeak forever no matter what. It's a Chevy 🤷🏼‍♀️😍
