Session 50 - Pt. 1- Dynix
Join the Crimson Tide, a daring band of adventurers, as they navigate the treacherous sands of Libetia in this heart-stopping episode of actual play Dungeons & Dragons. Fleeing from the relentless pursuit of the Libetian forces, mounted on fearsome war ostriches, our heroes make a desperate bid for freedom aboard their enchanted floating ship.
But disaster strikes! A violent reaction tears through their vessel, setting the sky ablaze and sending shockwaves across the dunes. Witness the explosive demise of their pursuers, caught in the fiery maelstrom, as the Crimson Tide clings to survival amidst the smoldering wreckage.
With danger looming and time running out, they must ascend the towering cliffs at the desert’s edge. It’s here they encounter a mysterious figure, half-buried in the sand, who extends a cryptic offer that could change their fate forever. Glass blowers could use their skills to create glass lenses for telescopes.
Absolutely! I really liked the idea that it takes all different Proficiencies to work together to make cool things too. If a glass blower wanted to make one piece of a project and rely on a Smith or painter foe the rest, imagine the possibilities:)

I appreciate ppl who make content like this, but i do not like this proposed method. Why wouldnt i just make one tool check to make an item out of my materials ingredients in exchange for some amount of in-game time? From my perspective as a player, there are too many opportunities to fail and your system is not fun. Rolling dice and failing is not fun. Why wouldnt we assume my alchemist is competent and can just succeed on common stuff? 😮 Your system is discouraging to me. Why would i craft anything if i had to go through all this? Common magic potions are dinky like low level spells. Let me have it for less effort and less risk.
Absolutely, this method was one I was working with my player for in a campaign that gives a basic backbone for out of the box player creativity. Making the base system I've been figuring that if Mt player decide to harvest a random plant or magical creature part, I can lean on this to help create a more entertaining homebrew item and still make it feel like pushing the boundaries of the craft, but it does end up making the base system without individual DM support super tedious! As I review and consider these system updates I'll probably address this so thank you!

My dm had a good idea for my blacksmith character, since my character was a barbarian forge domain cleric he let me enchant my hammer with a forge but must have items that Correspond with what im trying to do ( fire damage) and how im trying to forge it into my weapon with some rolls. If the rolls fail, ill lose both weapon and items. Glad he let me try cause my d20 was kind to me that day, by the end of that session i had a +1 warhammer that did a 1d8 fire damage

Oh yeah, was struggling to get it adjusted in the mixer, but with a recent setup update the values in session got thrown off and it prioritized the music over the voice audio. terribly sorry for the inconvenience :(

No they don't, I was trying to help make the idle moments a little more peaceful and nice, but the piano kind of overwhelms stuff to some degree. As I revamp these rules I'll likely change stuff
Good video. I have a character who hires a forgery expert from time to time. I would suggest however if you are forging a painting or artisan craft you not use the forgery skill but the actual craft to produce the item. My document forger can not forge a sword.
That's a very good point, I was going off of the idea that you may not be able to make a sword, but something of a different material kind of like a somewhat convincing cosplay. That way it still shared the mechanic, BUT a porcelain silver painted sword is VERY different from a real metal one, making it hard to pass as the real thing for sure!
Not really sure why the algorithm favored your channel, but I'm going to go view more of these videos on the tool proficiencies since it's a fun topic to try and expand upon.

Clockwork Kite. Basically a folding hang glider that fits in your backpack... Really only useful for spellcasters at lower levels, or for martials who want an alternative to spells. Grapple hook attachment for crossbows with a clockwork winch. Be Batman! Clockwork net launcher?
I can design an item to do that if you like, plus how much fun is it to be Mabel from gravity falls "GRAPPLlING HOOK!"

@@ohcritdnd Printable PDF with the Tinkerer's tools size, complexity, integration charts you showed with descriptions. Just all the info to have in a DM wall for a tinkerer user class
Absolutely, it may take a bit of finessing to fit your particular setup but I have updated the Description of the video to include a Link to the google doc i have on the system :)
One important thing that might be an important thing to add here that they qualify for the Elvin racial feats. Tho I haven't read the document yet. So that may have been already been added.
That is a wonderful point, as a mixture they would qualify, I hadn't considered specific feats so much as leaving that to DM discretion but it may be worth adding so that its on people's radar.

Congratulations: Your reward for in session is that one time in that session you can add 10 to any roll you choose to make as a flat +10. This can be an attack roll, savign throw, or ability check.

Congratulations, You've taken the first step in this particular mystery. Here is another hint: Once a butterfly exits it's Chrysalis it has to spread it's wings. Otherwise your Reward is one free reroll, you can choose ANY Player or even me as the DM and force me to reroll a D20 one time in the next session.
